Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Their integration features with other platforms are valuable. It is also relatively easy to use. Their library of training modules is fairly robust as well.""What I like the most about Cornerstone is that it is agile. It has good built-in processes and the implementation is rapid.""There are new releases every three months that keep up with industry standards and meet the needs of the customer.""The solution is very stable.""Cornerstone Learning's most valuable features are the keyword search, filters, and add-to-favorites option.""The most valuable features are the Playlists, Learning Assignment Tool, Earner Experience Platform, Machine Learning, and Reporting 2.0.""The most valuable features of Cornerstone Learning are how they organized the management of the different content types is good. They are done in different ways which is a benefit. Additionally, the reporting 2.0 and playlist functionality are very good.""The most valuable feature of Cornerstone Learning is the reporting and learner transcripts."

"The most valuable feature is the community. Moodle is a completely open source application and provides a lot of development knowledge. The other features we find valuable are the LTI tools, integrations and BigBlueButton.""Almost all the activity modules are available inside the courses, so that makes our training easier and more comfortable.""The ability to insert a variety of tools, create and organize course content, and share large volumes of materials, written, audio, or visual, is very valuable.""They have made it really easy for you to see the flow on the forums. The information is well organized and the UI is fairly easy to navigate.""One of my biggest pet peeves is that many LMSs do not offer a course or site-level backup that is an industry-standard file. So, if you decide you don't like Moodle or some other LMS, you should be able to back up all your data and take it and go somewhere else. Moodle does offer that. There are several others that do that as well, but there are some LMSs that don't, which isn't a very good business practice because they hold their clients hostage. That's one of the things I really like about Moodle.""The most valuable feature of Moodle is the exam question shuffle. Students in the classroom will all have different question list numbers. For example, one student's question one will be another student's question ten.""The solution is stable.""The most valuable features of Moodle are the ability to create assignments, divide them into teams, and the course delivery. In Cornerstone, I need to reach out to the team, and it is not as simple, a little more involved. Additionally, the solutions is easy to manage."

Cons
"Cornerstone Learning could be improved with more e-learning content.""The recruitment module needs to be improved in Cornerstone Learning.""Cornerstone Learning can improve reporting. If they had a harmonization of the administration UIs it would be great.""In the next release, I would like to see a Hybrid architecture and to be able to customize the look and feel.""Its dashboard and analytics must be improved. Currently, we get the data, but we don't get anything from the insightfulness perspective. Analytics is where it requires a lot of work. We definitely expect some good dashboard features, which are currently lacking in this solution. From a technical perspective, they need to open access to all HTML tags. It currently doesn't support many HTML tags, which makes it challenging to create HTML pages.""The support for this solution could be improved.""The user interface is in need of improvement.""The existing test functionality is really old-fashioned, basic, and limited."

More Cornerstone Learning Cons →

"They need to have a better way to illustrate competencies so that, when people go through the programs, they can actually show they are competent in the subject matter.""For a first time user, especially someone who is non-technical, Moodle is difficult for them to understand and they often need assistance.""The biggest area for improvement is the UI. They should also make the navigation simpler to understand. They've recently introduced a new way of having navigation work in Moodle, but they all look very similar.""The solution architecture could be improved.""Moodle's weakest point is the user interface.""The ability to input modified, individual, independent grades in a grade center component is not just hard. It almost always requires you to get tech involved. When you're dealing with a learning system where you have people in an open enrollment with all different levels of learning modes or methodologies, and as well as a worldwide student body, you end up with situations where you have to absolutely exempt somebody from a grade or an assignment and enter a new, different kind of assignment because of their skillset or lack thereof. You can't do that in Moodle. It is virtually impossible to do that in Moodle without having a tech do it for you, and when you have to have that level of tech support, it becomes problematic. They need to fix the grade book center. It is the part where you do evaluations. They need to fix it so that the individual professors can make changes directly without having to get a hold of tech support to do it for them.""Sometimes, discrepancies arise when the information is not updated or lacks precision, potentially leading to the model producing misleading or incorrect outputs based on its training.""Moodle Mobile is a really good area for improvement. All of 4.0 hasn't been released yet, and Moodle Mobile is not yet available for all different devices."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "This is a cost-effective solution."
  • "I was not involved in the financial negotiation for our contract with this company, but in the past, I have seen the fees run between $10 USD and $11 USD per user."
  • "Quality always comes at a cost. I would not rate it as expensive. It provides value for money."
  • "It is a premium product, and it is on par with its competitors. It isn't out of scale with what the market is demanding. We're always looking at ways of trimming costs, but we haven't had a lot of flexibility with pricing and/or options with Cornerstone. So, its price is decent. There are ad hoc engineering costs when we are required to use a Cornerstone resource. Additionally, when we choose to integrate with third-party platforms, there is a setup and maintenance fee for these data integrations. They need to be built into our ongoing budget as we expand our offerings."
  • "The pricing of Cornerstone Learning is reasonable, but my knowledge of the cost is limited. I've had some discussions about licenses. I suppose we've had to push them a little bit to be more flexible about the licensing. For example, someone said they could only give us licenses in a batch of 500, but we found out that it wasn't true. We were able to negotiate a different amount."
  • "This solution offers competitive pricing."
  • "I would rate the price at four on a scale from one to five because it's a very expensive product."
  • "I'm not aware of the costs. It must have been something for which we paid. Every single employee in the company had some kind of access to Cornerstone because that's how they got to their training."
  • More Cornerstone Learning Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It varies depending on the partner you're going with. It depends on whether they are a certified partner or not. It also varies depending on the demand. Usually, with Moodle and other LMSs, there is concurrent licensing. It's hard to figure out the best way to do it at the company that is selling the LMS. Moodle is usually one of the most cost-effective LMSs you can get."
  • "This solution offers a free-to-use version which can be deployed only on-premises and is what we are using. Moodle also offer support based and cloud based subscriptions. Organizations can select the appropriate package based on their needs. Moodle offer reasonable pricing for the use of their solution."
  • "Moodle offer a 14 day free trial and then requires payment."
  • "It is a one-time registration with the Moodle site. There isn't a yearly or monthly fee."
  • "Moodle is free. It should probably stay free. There isn't really any support for Moodle unless you pay an astronomical amount, which is weird."
  • "Moodle have a very robust licensing system that is user friendly. It's not very expensive."
  • "Moodle is a free solution."
  • "It is open source, and it has a lot of free documentation. It can be by far the least expensive option, but it depends on how one decides to use it. It can be free if you download it and host it on-prem, and you don't count your time as being worth anything. So, it can be almost free, or it can be very expensive just depending on if you get a package with a provider and if it is a huge solution."
