Security focus and seamless implementation increase platform productivity
Microsoft Entra ID can be improved in many ways, and there's a big wish list.If we're focusing on security, something that I definitely expect is improvement in the UI and UX for frontline workers. This is important, especially for non-tech savvy individuals. It is something Microsoft Entra ID could do to improve for a wider audience. It's important to focus on the frontline workers since they are non-tech savvy individuals. They are not like those back-office engineering C-level employees who are constantly dealing with computers, and we need to build a specific user experience and user interface for them to handle this stuff. That's something I expect Microsoft to focus on more for Microsoft Entra ID.

Automates our user provisioning process and integrates very well with other SAP products but needs better integration with non-SAP products
We use it to automate our user provisioning process. It is used for managing access of SAP users; for example, they can do password reset or assign technical rules to themselves. It is also used for identifying risks It is an SAP product, so it integrates very well with other SAP products. It…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The UI of Microsoft Entra ID is very intuitive, and I appreciate the integration with Azure because it works seamlessly. This is the best aspect I appreciate about Microsoft Entra ID."
"Overall the solution functions very well, such as the ability to access it from the cloud."
"The user functionality enables us to provide different levels of access, across many applications, for each user. We can customize the access level and set a security level in connection with that access. For instance, we can require MFA. That is a feature that helps enhance our security posture a lot."
"After implementing Microsoft Entra ID, secure access to apps has become seamless."
"Conditional access is a very important feature where a specific user can be restricted such that they cannot connect to the application if they travel outside of the US."
"Microsoft Entra ID has streamlined and centralized our device management and threat response processes."
"It is easy to manage. I can manage systems with policies and automate our systems. Any professional system can be easily integrated with Azure Active Directory. It is widely used with Windows versions."
"Federated identity management is a great feature for the zero-trust model."
"It is an SAP product, so it integrates very well with other SAP products."

Cons

"I rate Microsoft support five out of 10. It's just okay."
"The technical support can be confusing - if you're looking for something very specific, it can be hard to get the right answer or a solution."
"Microsoft's technical support has shortcomings where improvements are required."
"I would evaluate Microsoft support as three out of ten. Microsoft support does not engage right away."
"Generally, everything works pretty well, but sometimes, Azure Active Directory has outages on the Microsoft side of things. These outages really have a very big impact on the users, applications, and everything else because they are closely tied to the Azure AD ecosystem. So, whenever there is an outage, it is really difficult because all things start failing. This happens very rarely, but when it happens, there is a big impact."
"The permission management is a mess."
"The workflow management for registering new applications and users could be improved."
"I would rate Microsoft's technical support on the lower side. While some responses are quick and satisfactory, there have been occasions where issues took weeks or circles to resolve, sometimes closing and reopening without resolution."
"It would be better if we could also manage other systems with it. Currently, you have to purchase plugins for it to work with other non-SAP systems. It would be good if there is an easy way to integrate SAP Access Control with other non-SAP systems."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's pretty good. We're using the native features. It's bundled with our Office 365 licenses. We aren't paying anything extra for Azure Active Directory. It's pretty good for us because it's complementary to Office 365. We're only paying for Office 365."
"It is bundled with other services and the pricing is quite reasonable."
"It is costly."
"Azure AD comes with Office 365, so we are just paying for the Office 365 license."
"I would advise implementing the solution to VIPs and admins; it's affordable, effective, and efficient. I would say training staff on properly using the tool is also essential."
"The basic tier of Azure Active Directory is free, so many users use the service for free. For a small company having the security and compliance that Azure offers is a great benefit. For small companies that are using the basic services, not having to pay for Azure Active Directory is the main asset because they can manage their users and have authentications tools and security."
"The solution costs us 60,000 Rupees annually, just over $700, and there are no additional costs."
"Licenses are based on the usage. There is no cap. It's based on the number of users we provision."
"It is a part of our package with SAP. There is no extra cost in addition to the license."
