Security focus and seamless implementation increase platform productivity
Microsoft Entra ID can be improved in many ways, and there's a big wish list.If we're focusing on security, something that I definitely expect is improvement in the UI and UX for frontline workers. This is important, especially for non-tech savvy individuals. It is something Microsoft Entra ID could do to improve for a wider audience. It's important to focus on the frontline workers since they are non-tech savvy individuals. They are not like those back-office engineering C-level employees who are constantly dealing with computers, and we need to build a specific user experience and user interface for them to handle this stuff. That's something I expect Microsoft to focus on more for Microsoft Entra ID.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We use BitLocker for policy enforcement. And now, because of the Microsoft 365 Business Premium package, we get Intune as a part of it. That's very useful for us for setting policies and managing the systems. The biggest strength of Azure AD is Intune."
"With the Microsoft Entra ID platform, our company productivity is much higher, the performance is much higher, and it means that at the end of the day, we do the job with fewer people, saving costs."
"The most valuable feature of Entra ID is having a cloud-based identity, similar to Google's single sign-on."
"This solution is less time-consuming. We don't have to hire as many resources to give permissions to a particular user or group for any application."
"The most valuable features of Azure ID are the single sign-on and OpenID Connect authentication."
"I like how Entra allows you to upload a CSV file with user details for bulk user creation. This is useful for automation. Entra has made it easy to manage identity and access by integrating with all Microsoft services. Everything is managed in a single place, eliminating the need for another application."
"Conditional Access, Geofencing, and Azure Multi-Factor Authentication are the major security features to secure resources."
"The ability to grant access to other organizations is helpful."
"The single sign-on feature is excellent."
"The most valuable features of NetIQ Access Manager are SSO and Multi-Factor Authentication."
"It's very easy to integrate with applications."
"The features that we have found most valuable with NetIQ Access Manager are its single sign-on and two factor two second factor database."
"There are lots of options to customize the solution to your needs."

Cons

"The product needs to be more user-friendly."
"Azure AD does not support legacy authentication protocols, such as NTLM or Kerberos."
"The solution can improve the educational portion because it is an administration cost."
"Having more training would be quite helpful."
"The support could be better. Lately, they sort of dropped off a bit in terms of quality."
"The area that needs improvement is integrating IDs between multiple environments and forests. In our case, it's hard to get the identities from multiple forests into one location. This is probably our biggest challenge."
"Azure Active Directory could improve the two-factor authentication."
"The robustness of the conditional access feature of the zero trust strategy to verify users is adequate but not comprehensive."
"I would love to see the upgrade procedure handled more effectively. I would prefer to have OVS installation possibilities, although the upgrade procedures should include the OS as well. You should be able to use the whole application as an appliance."
"Classification of junctions and new versions of applications, such as APIs, can be added to enable the use of more devices that utilize biometrics for Multi-Factor Authentication to improve the solution."
"Having the ability to easily extract and view and compare and version control configurations would be ideal."
"The application portal could be improved with more options and easier customization."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say the security of the infrastructure and the server and the working networking device."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I do not have experience with pricing."
"Microsoft Entra ID service can be quite costly due to its hidden expenses linked to usage."
"It can be a bit expensive for organizations, but they do have different pricing models. Their free tier can be used on a personal level, but for an organization, the licenses might be a bit expensive. In general, the licenses can become cheaper, which will make it accessible for more people."
"Licenses are based on the usage. There is no cap. It's based on the number of users we provision."
"We are always looking for better pricing."
"It is very expensive. Its price should be lower. Price is the most important factor for Turkish people."
"Azure Active Directory is more expensive than Google, but the capabilities they provide are superior."
"The product's price is in the midrange."
"The price of the solution is average."
