Security focus and seamless implementation increase platform productivity
Microsoft Entra ID can be improved in many ways, and there's a big wish list.If we're focusing on security, something that I definitely expect is improvement in the UI and UX for frontline workers. This is important, especially for non-tech savvy individuals. It is something Microsoft Entra ID could do to improve for a wider audience. It's important to focus on the frontline workers since they are non-tech savvy individuals. They are not like those back-office engineering C-level employees who are constantly dealing with computers, and we need to build a specific user experience and user interface for them to handle this stuff. That's something I expect Microsoft to focus on more for Microsoft Entra ID.

Enables organizations to synchronize users with different products, but it is not easy to integrate
The product enables organizations to synchronize users to Microsoft 365 products Integration with other products must be made easier. I have been using the solution for one year. I rate the tool’s stability a seven out of ten. About 50 people in our organization use the tool. It is used daily.…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like Azure AD's conditional access policies. Microsoft Entra provides a single pane of glass for managing user access, improving the overall user experience."
"I like that you can run it on-premises. I also like that I can use Azure at any time as the main one."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to establish resource groups and set permissions through RBAC across these groups."
"My two preferred features are conditional access and privileged identity management."
"This solution is less time-consuming. We don't have to hire as many resources to give permissions to a particular user or group for any application."
"It's definitely both stable and scalable."
"It is one of those costs where you can't really quantify a return on investment. In the grand scheme of things, if we didn't have it, we would probably have a lot more breaches. It would be a lot harder to detect issues because we would have people using static usernames and passwords for various sites, making us open to a lot more attacks. The amount of security and benefit that we get out of it is not quantifiable but the return of investment from a qualitative point of view is much higher than not having it."
"Federated identity management is a great feature for the zero-trust model."
"The product enables organizations to synchronize users to Microsoft 365 products."

Cons

"The product takes at least ten minutes to activate privilege identity management roles."
"The area that needs improvement is integrating IDs between multiple environments and forests. In our case, it's hard to get the identities from multiple forests into one location."
"Overall, it's not a very intuitive solution."
"The technical support has its downsides and upsides. While they are fast, it can take time to get the right person because there are many steps to reach the appropriate team member at Microsoft support, which can be somewhat annoying."
"The product could be more cost-effective."
"At the free or basic level of service, Azure should provide identity protection features including single sign-on and multifactor authentication."
"They should put the features of P1 and P2 into a single license."
"I believe it can also be integrated into other Microsoft products, as well as more integrations with other solutions."
"Integration with other products must be made easier."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"For a small business buying individual licenses, it is an affordable solution."
"The pricing for companies and businesses is okay, it's fair. But if you are trying to teach someone about Azure AD, there is no licensing option for that... It would be nice to have a 'learning' license, one that is cheaper for a single person."
"I'm not totally aware of the pricing and licensing, but I do know that the pricing and licensing must be quite balanced. We are a pretty old client of Microsoft, and MSA is just one of the services we use from Microsoft. There's a whole Microsoft 365 suite that's implemented as well. I'm sure it is something that is acceptable to both parties."
"I do not have experience with pricing."
"I am not involved in the pricing or licensing, so I can't speak to that."
"It's really affordable."
"I give the cost a three out of ten."
"The price is good, and we have no complaints."
