We use the existing services hosted in Microsoft Azure API Management without making any changes. For transformation capabilities, we utilize ADF, Data Factory instead of Microsoft Azure API Management. Regarding security features in Microsoft Azure API Management, we utilize token bearer authentication. As retailers with integration to our channel partners, we haven't experienced any security issues with Microsoft Azure API Management since it isn't exposed to external parties. We use a basic Azure function hosted in Microsoft Azure API Management rather than the integrated developer portal. Tracking analytics and performance analytics in Microsoft Azure API Management is straightforward. We use basic features for performance analytics and log analytics due to additional subscription charges. We enabled log analytics for Microsoft Azure API Management in the past month to investigate issues such as unreachable endpoints or request timeouts.

Provides robust security for financial transactions and protects the ERP database from direct exposure
My main feedback is about the account management. I feel they should connect with clients more frequently, beyond just selling the product. They should actively seek feedback and tailor the approach to client needs. It shouldn't always be about pushing additional products. My main suggestion is focused solely on the account management approach, specifically fostering closer and more proactive client relationships. So, the pricing could also be bit improvement.

Pros

"It's really easy to use for simple passthrough APIs."
"It's very straightforward to set it up."
"We're pretty much using all of the monetizations features out of the API manager so we can put up a portal and have a dev portal and then a prod portal and do rate limiting."
"It's a valuable tool for API lifecycle management"
"The initial setup is not that complex, but there are certain challenges."
"The analytics phase of API Management is very beneficial for tracking API usage and identifying suspicious users."
"Microsoft Azure API Management as a complete package contains all the features that meet our requirements."
"Without a doubt, it has a very robust, strong marketplace where we can directly integrate with existing APIs and begin working on those."
"The most valuable features for us are security and centralization."
"The initial setup isn't overly difficult."
"We've found it to be very stable."
"The product has been very easy to use."
"It is very secure, easy to manage, and easy to configure. It is a web-based API. Moreover, we get direct support from Oracle guys."
"The security, the authentication, and the publishing qualities are great."
"It has helped us to better organize, control and monitor the APIs across the solution landscape in the enterprise."

Cons

"Latency is an area that needs improvement, especially for multi-tenant applications."
"Any organization looking to implement Microsoft Azure API Management should look at other alternatives."
"It's okay. It's not as good as Google."
"I did follow the prescribed steps to export our Test subscription setup to import into a production subscription environment, but I was unable to achieve the export within the short amount of time I had to achieve it."
"The moment you need to reach out for serious technical support in terms of incidents, or on-site support, or whatever, it becomes a little more challenging."
"The portal where we publish the APIs could be improved. I worry there is potential for a security breach in the API publishing."
"Microsoft Azure API Management is lagging behind Apigee and should also have a better CICD process."
"I rate the technical support from Microsoft Azure API Management a four out of five."
"The cost of the solution is very high. It's not very cheap."
"Oracle needs to improve on access to technical documentation."
"Although it is working great for us at the moment, we don't enjoy its user-interface. The UI is based on an old approach and needs an overhaul to modernize the UI and user interaction."
"We'd like it if they could reduce the cost without sacrificing on features."
"From an administration and developer point of view, the user interface and user experience are not great."
"Oracle should actively seek feedback and tailor the approach to client needs. It shouldn't always be about pushing additional products."
"Before gaining experience with the product, I found that it was not simple to use and things took longer to do than I had anticipated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"There are additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"Based on the resources that we are leveraging, the price we are paying to use this solution is slightly higher than other competitors. In a few cases, it has its own advantage in some resources."
"Because of our partner relationship, our pricing is pretty decent. But in general, if I compare pricing, I think the initial offer that we got from Microsoft until the relationship kicked in was more expensive than AWS. There were some unexpected expenses because we had to pause. This was due to our inexperience and because we were doing this significant public cloud migration for the first time. We were using SAP on a public cloud for the first time."
"Microsoft is competitively priced."
"There are no additional costs above the main license."
"It's free for less than ten users. If you want to go beyond that, it's around $3.50 per user per month. If you want a DevOps integration, it's about $7.50 per user per month. Costs depend on the size, complexity, usage, and what facility you want to integrate. So, we use Microsoft Azure and have the entire DevOps and Visual Studio on the cloud. We get all three flavors for $7.50 per user per month."
"Microsoft Azure is an expensive solution not for the large enterprises but for the medium and small."
"Oracle is not a cheap solution and it is not affordable for all of our clients in Portugal."
