Easy to scale and good record to report capabilities but needs better training
It's not a very popular tool. There are very limited resources available in the market in terms of implementation. They need to offer training plans for graduates so that more resources are available in the market. The support needs to be faster. The solution needs to be lighter. It's a bit too heavy.

Running secure internal banking applications has been reliable and supports fast deployments
I am still working with Oracle products. I am still using Enterprise Manager 14c. I am using Oracle Database, Oracle ExaCC, Oracle EBS, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Linux. I can answer questions about my experience with WebLogic Suite. I use it in my company. I have not used WebLogic's diagnostic tools. I do not utilize its lifecycle management features. I do not have much experience with WebLogic Java EE support, as I just deploy the application and the other team utilizes this server. I am not directly involved in WebLogic. I have been using Oracle Linux myself. The deployment is local, on-premises. I have been working with Enterprise Manager as well. All the components of Oracle I am using are on-premises. I use Oracle 19c database, Oracle ExaCC, Exadata on Cloud at Customer. I have been using Oracle Linux, Enterprise Manager, and databases as well. I have been working with Oracle Database for about 20 years. My experience has been 100% positive with Oracle Database. I have utilized its Real Application Clusters along with Data Guard. I do not use Oracle's Advanced Analytics and machine learning features right now. I have given this review an overall rating of 9 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution scales easily."
"I like the design of the database because it works well, and I also like the stability of the solution."
"The most valuable features for us in our experience has definitely been the security and reliability it brings to our environment."
"I like the backend robustness of the database and the security capabilities that are inherently in the product."
"Its performance is good. It is also stable and scalable."
"As compared to SQL Server, Oracle Database performs better when you have a huge amount of data, and we didn't face any problems when we had a huge amount of data, with no issues in importing/exporting and migrating the data."
"I think that Oracle today is the most powerful relational database, especially for PCI compliance, high availability, and high performance."
"Oracle Database has various remarkable features like Advanced Security and Advanced Compression."
"The database is very secure, robust, and scalable, with all the features that you need, such as disaster recovery, replication, and backup."

Cons

"There are very limited resources available in the market in terms of implementation. They need to offer training plans for graduates so that more resources are available in the market."
"I can't think of anything that makes me think, “Oh, we have to have it.”"
"The monitoring of processes that are executing could be better. I find it very difficult to find processes that had been in a suspended state in order to stop them."
"Its security is good, but it could be more secure."
"The latest comparison to products like SAP HANA, and in-memory computing, and container computing, container-based database structures; these are the areas where I think there is good competition."
"We faced some difficulties in the network configuration area. All these things can be fixed with the support of Oracle's networking team. We didn't face any other major problems. Its deployment can be easier. It should be easier to configure for a developer. If a developer is planning a database and trying to configure it, it should be easy for him because many times, we cannot directly get help from DBAs."
"The integration could be improved. If you are integrating with other Oracle products, it is fine, however, if your goal is to integrate with third-party products, Oracle isn't as good."
"In general, the support is not good since most of the time the person whom you are given to is not so professional."
"The cost of this solution needs to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The tool's pricing is high and yearly."
"Oracle Database is expensive."
"The product is costly."
"We have bought a license, and it was a one-time cost."
"The tool is expensive. Compared to its stability and eligibility, the tool is expensive, but if I consider the tool's ROI to be better, the tool is affordable with its set of features."
"The licensing cost is not based on a yearly subscription but rather on the number of devices used annually."
"The main issue where I feel that Oracle still has a problem is with the licensing. Licensing is still expensive and the reason why today most startups use other, cheaper databases. Those other databases are much less sophisticated than Oracle."
"The license cost of Oracle Database is more expensive, and this could result in some clients moving away from it."
