Provides superior integration options and comprehensive reporting features
The product could benefit from enhanced integration capabilities with older software systems and more customizable reporting options. Improved support for mobile devices would also be advantageous, allowing team members to access the system more effectively while on the go. In the next release, we would like to see advanced analytics features, including predictive analytics to help forecast project outcomes. Additionally, a more robust mobile app with offline capabilities would be valuable for remote work scenarios.

Efficient IT management with crucial automatic updates but needs developer-friendly configuration
Sometimes it is a bit of work for developers to change the configurations. Some kernels will not fit with some packages, and this aspect could be improved. Furthermore, the system's rigidity when updating packages and services needs improvement. Additionally, there should be more loosely bound functionalities to improve developer experience.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I appreciate the features in JFrog DevOps Cloud Platform, especially the efficient file management where downloads and uploads are optimized, saving time. The storage efficiency is also great as it avoids redundancy, which is crucial for our team. It is also quite easy to use, especially for basic commands through the command line. It's straightforward for us internally, and our data is well-hosted on their servers, which makes data location and querying fast and efficient. Moving our storage to JFrog has streamlined our development cycle by eliminating duplicated data, which previously took up extra space locally. This efficiency is crucial for our workflow, although network speeds still play a significant role in performance."
"They have a professional service team that works alongside their engineering and performance teams."
"The most valuable features include task tracking and reporting capabilities."
"Linux is easy to use. You have more control on a Unix system."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is the installation part...We don't face any issues related to the operating system or application."
"I have not experienced any issues with this operating system."
"The most valuable features of the solution are patching and the BTRFS file system."
"SUSE Linux had a clean user interface, which was a valuable feature for me."
"SUSE Linux Enterprise is easy to configure for those who are not hardcore command-line driven."
"SUSE Linux was stable for me. I did not experience any problems with its stability."
"It's a flexible solution."

Cons

"We have encountered stability issues lately, particularly with frequent 500 internal server errors. Despite efforts from our DevOps team to adjust settings, these issues persist, affecting our workflow, especially with machine learning data uploads. Overall, while it's beneficial for storage and accessibility, stability issues need improvement for seamless operations. The occasional occurrence of internal server errors takes several minutes to resolve on their own and can disrupt workflows. Another concern is that sometimes files appear to be successfully uploaded, but then they cannot be downloaded, with no error message indicating the issue during the upload process. This inconsistency needs to be addressed by JFrog to ensure reliable functionality for users like us."
"The product could benefit from enhanced integration capabilities with older software systems and more customizable reporting options."
"Our locations are in different environments, so the remote server takes time to catch up, causing replication delays. The engineering team suggested that this issue would be resolved, but I'm not sure if it has been addressed yet. This is more of a feature enhancement that we suggested."
"We have had trouble integrating Autodesk with the SUSE manager."
"The price of SUSE Linux Enterprise could improve, it is too expensive."
"I would like to see GUI improved, it could be more user-friendly."
"When working in a Department of Defense environment, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) have to be followed. SLES is not really addressed directly here. It did make following security policy difficult."
"The only stability issues that I can recall encountering with SUSE would be with KDE. However, that is limited to just the desktop environment as I have not had stability issues with most server functions."
"The solution could be more stable."
"The solution is expensive."
"They should improve their educational portal."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product pricing is competitive but worth negotiating for volume discounts or longer-term contracts."
"Regarding pricing, I focus on the platform's interface and user communication rather than costs."
"SUSE Linux Enterprise is reasonably priced compared to other operating systems. I find it's a much better option for us than Oracle, for example, because of the pricing structure. The pricing is easier to explain to clients and makes it easier to get clients' commitment. The licensing is also simpler to manage and keep track of. Their responsiveness is great - they give feedback very quickly when we ask questions about licensing or other aspects. This helps ensure we're always at the gold standard regarding licensing and everything related to SUSE Linux Enterprise."
"When we first implemented this product, we had licenses for support."
"There is no license for this solution, there is only a subscription of support available."
"As far as licensing goes, there is nothing unusual here. The price and model have worked fine for my organization."
"Anyone can use Linux because it is open-source."
"The tool is expensive compared to Red Hat. I rate its pricing a nine out of ten."
"I would advise others to download the free or strictly open source versions, then test them in their environment before committing to a purchase. This will allow for testing suitability for applications that they want to run."
"I have to pay for a license in order to get support."
