Handles large data volumes effectively and offers competitive pricing
There is a lot of improvement required, as we still face some cache issues most of the time, which is a challenge that we expect to see resolved in the future. Additionally, there is some limitation when we are working with a tool, especially regarding In and Out parameters, and I feel that this aspect should be improved going ahead. We face issues with the API side, as Cloud Application Integration cannot handle large volumes; according to the API page, there is a limitation of 500 records or 500 MB. The AI integrated into the Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services solution is called Application Integration, where we still face challenges when dealing with huge volumes, as previously explained.

Its functionality and performance are adequate but it provides a single source of truth for customer data
We use it as the Master Data Management platform for a large bank in Australia which has many separate customer data repositories The intent of this platform is to provide a single source of truth for customer data. To some extent, this has been achieved. Any customer MDM project tends to be…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is cost effective and an easily accessible tool."
"There are a couple of valuable features. One is that it is very quick on the profiling. So, you get a very fast snapshot of the type of data that you're looking at from the profiling perspective. It can highlight anomalies in the data."
"Informatica MDM has a defined data model we can customize with user and developer options."
"The process of using the tool's scalability option is well documented."
"The tool does give a good ROI."
"The most valuable features of Informatica Cloud Data Integration for our clients are the AI capabilities within Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services."
"Most of our customers were using excel and email-based communication for data access, and these new-age solutions improve efficiency ten times or more."
"I have used a lot of MDM tools, and I've found that Informatica is the best solution out of all of them in terms of the architecture and user-friendliness."
"It provides a single source of truth for customer data."
"The intent of this platform is to provide a single source of truth for customer data."
"It is a solid, reliable product with a robust development history and good support behind them."

Cons

"An area for improvement would be that the pricing model is not very visible, which makes it hard to understand how much things will cost."
"Database access is highly restricted with PIM."
"I would like to see more API integration to have the capability to build a report using other third party reporting tools to streamline the operation."
"Most of the new features added by Informatica are through Elastic Mapping. It would be helpful to have features like multithreading or partitioning for Salesforce to enhance performance."
"Accessing data as a service is essential, especially for validations requiring external data services. This goes beyond basic syntactic checks, like ensuring an email address contains the @ symbol or .com domain. Instead, it's about advanced validation, such as verifying if an email address exists or if a phone number is valid."
"The scalability is tough."
"Database access is highly restricted particularly if you're using the cloud version."
"Informatica Cloud Data Quality could improve by adding more algorithms for matching and mastering. We currently only have five or six."
"It has essentially been "frozen" by Oracle - they don't seem to be updating it any further."
"Any customer MDM project tends to be complicated and difficult to show a positive business case over a short to medium time frame."
"OCH has adequate functionality and performance to serve a group customer master."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product has a high price point."
"A yearly subscription is paid based on the number of people using the solution. Price-wise, it falls under the medium range since it is neither very costly nor too cheap."
"You can purchase licenses for this solution at different intervals. For example, annually or every three years. They recently changed their terms for licensing and now it is more flexible."
"Comparatively, their prices are a little bit too high."
"I rate the product's pricing a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"The solution's pricing model is easy, but it is very expensive."
"We got a 50% discount."
"The solution is very expensive."
