Centralized management streamlines log collection while providing valuable resources
We use it for log collection on customers that have compliance requirements The single pane of glass management with the other security products we use from Huntress is incredibly valuable. It allows us to manage multiple Huntress products in a central place, and we don't have ten different…

Excels at performing regression and correlation on the data
ArcSight is a legacy technology, and many customers want AI-powered technologies integrated with it. That hasn't been done yet, but ArcSight needs to catch up with the newer solutions and technologies available in the market. It can't just rely on the legacy technology from 2010 or 2012. You can't run that in 2024. It's a legacy technology with its own limitations. Customers often face issues that other software or newer solutions can resolve easily. That's the main challenge we face from customers right now. So, the only concerns are that AI needs to be integrated and scalability improved. Those are the main areas to be improved.

Pros

"Huntress is a great company and incredibly helpful with deployment."
"The single pane of glass management with the other security products we use from Huntress is incredibly valuable."
"ArcSight gives us better visibility into threats that were unknown earlier."
"Feature-rich solution which provides better network visibility for improved security"
"ArcSight is customizable. You can integrate just about anything. I also like the ease of use."
"I really like the correlation part and the way the logs are correlated. I have never faced issues with parsing in this product. I like the way it parses, and everything is so clear to me."
"It gives better overall visibility. Before, we didn't have a unified system for managing security alerts. ArcSight introduced various alerts, giving us a better visibility of potential problems."
"Once the rules are defined, it is capable of detecting minute changes in the systems, which are effectively based on the entries in the log."
"Once the rules are defined, it becomes easy to detect changes and generate automated logs."
"What I found most valuable in ArcSight Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) is its good integration with third-party products. The solution also has good core capabilities."

Cons

"There should be better exclusions of log types and the ability to exclude specific types of logs that might be using a lot of data."
"There should be better exclusions of log types and the ability to exclude specific types of logs that might be using a lot of data."
"Sometimes, it takes ages to get an issue resolved. I have ArcSight experience, so I normally try to fix things on my own or find a workaround, but it's tough to get support when I need it."
"ArcSight ESM could improve the alerts for the storage capacities or actions."
"Customer service during the transition from HPE to Micro Focus was abysmal where it became disruptive to our service delivery."
"We would like the ability to easily identify either unused resources or those that are being used sub-optimally."
"The stability isn't quite perfect. We occasionally run into problems."
"ArcSight ESM could improve by adding more features and documentation. There needs to be more documentation."
"I am having issues with report generation with older versions. I don't know if this is because of compatibility issues, but report generation has been a little bit difficult in older versions. It is not similar to the newer and current versions. We are looking at moving to the cloud. It would be good if ArcSight ESM can move to the cloud. They already seem to be working on this. It would also be very helpful and great if we can integrate external threat intelligence, machine learning, and AI into this solution. It has good dashboards, but they can always be better. Its stability can also be improved."
"The correlation engine effectively connects different events, significantly improving our detection reach. However, limitations exist with non-default alerts, where additional costs arise for integration."

"There is a license required for this solution."
"ArcSight can be a little bit expensive because of the area that we work in and the cost. Licensing is mostly on a yearly basis, not monthly."
"The product licenses are inexpensive."

"ArcSight is pretty expensive compared with its competitors. I believe that is fine as it provides value."
