Effortlessly manage relationships with seamless contact data integration
The primary area to improve is creating deployable packages. When I buy into HubSpot, I have a list of checks, however, I am left to figure out how to use it. I start with a budget, and it's just a persistent sales demand. HubSpot should establish some pre-deployable packages that, when contracted, offer basic functionality. It is important to be clear about what it doesn't provide or what else is needed. I can outfit myself with my own tools or other options as I evaluate the board. They are building businesses for themselves. However, there's always a limiting function encountered. Understanding limitations upon entry would be beneficial so I don't constantly stumble upon unknown constraints. A package covering everything in a particular area without requiring the entire purchase would be excellent.

Highly scalable, easy to use, flexible, and affordable
In terms of areas for improvement in Insightly, it would be the project management functionality. It can be integrated with other applications to make it more flexible, but it requires a lot of work redoing the framework from Insightly and creating more custom objects to make it do what you want. For example, in the software developer world, we use the Agile or Scrum methodology, which has a completely different project management system than Insightly. Sadly, Insightly doesn't support that well. You would need to create some custom objects in order for that to work correctly. Also, even without the Scrub methodology or other types of project management styles, Insightly needs support with how it manages its pipelines and activity sets. The access to making templated tasks is very limited. If Insightly could expand access to activity sets and create more flexible project management features, that would be a big win for the CRM. The things I would like to see as a developer and as a consultant for my clients would be more integration and more updates with the project management. When it comes to additional features, I would like to see the ability to connect other data sources inside the dashboard reporting. For example, if you would like to see your sales organization and how many activities you made on a contact, how many phone calls, emails, text messages, etc., Insightly should be able to show that information in the opportunity or the sales report. That would be very valuable, to get data from the contact, not from the opportunity, and see those data points together. Right now, they are silent. There is just a data opportunity report and a contact report. Insightly should put some type of API connection or integration to update the activity into the opportunity record to link it so you would be able to see it. Right now it is siloed but it would be useful to create API connections to automate that so that salespeople don't have to link it to the contact and the opportunity. The AI connection of automation should do that for you like in other software systems.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is their marketing automation service and sales lead management."
"We can track clients through the system, which is a great feature. It supports cross-functional teams."
"It has nice features and matches our pipeline. Even in the free version, all of the features are available."
"The tool is user-friendly."
"The ease of having everything in one place is valuable."
"HubSpot is one of the best tools that is free, helping me start quickly."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its free version, where you can store around 10,00,000 records in HubSpot CRM for free if you have a business email ID."
"The solution's greatest value lies in its online capability in terms of web content creation."
"The most valuable feature is the speed of adoption, the simple user interface, and the flexibility of use."

Cons

"The solution's email capabilities could be improved."
"I cannot upload a long recorded Zoom conversation to HubSpot."
"The only challenge with the solution is that it captures data in a raw manner, so organizing that information is still left to the administrator or the user, and they need to organize it into structured fields."
"This solution could be easier to use. You really have to be hands on in the beginning as its an in depth solution. It takes some time to learn how it works before you can start using it."
"An area to be improved in HubSpot CRM is its customization capabilities."
"There is room for improvement in pricing. The pricing strategy that they have is way too clever."
"HubSpot CRM is easy to use compared to others solutions and anyone can use it. However, for enterprise companies, I would recommend Salesforce because it has established partners, can be more reliable, has more features, and has a more powerful integration with ERP modules which is important for enterprise companies. For multi-locations and multinational companies, Salesforce is one of the best."
"Ease of use is the most essential feature for us. HubSpot is intuitive, so you can learn everything just by exploring and trying it out yourself. The user interface is straightforward, and it's easy to pick that up."
"Project management in Insightly could use some improvement. It can be integrated with other applications to make it more flexible, but it requires a lot of work redoing the framework from Insightly and creating more custom objects to make it do what you want."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of HubSpot CRM is expensive."
"If one is a low price and ten is a high price, I rate the pricing as a five. HubSpot CRM is much more expensive than Salesforce. My company probably pays around 40 USD per user monthly."
"HubSpot CRM is affordable."
"We are using HubSpot CRM’s free version."
"Pricing is based on the number of users."
"We use a paid version of Hubspot and we have an annual license."
"It's in the upper range. If 10 represents the most expensive, I'd rate it a 7 out of 10. Its price also depends on the size of your team."
"I do not recall the particulars of the licensing fees."
