With good integration and expansion capabilities, the tool also offers good technical support
It is a solution that we could expand in our company. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten. Our company has 400 users, all of whom have used it at one point or the other. All of the departments are involved in the usage of the tool.

Has integrated solutions and rapid recovery made management smoother and more reliable
There is the latest update from HPE regarding HPE SimpliVity. For virtualization, HPE has to depend on other manufacturers, OEMs such as VMware or Hyper-V. Recently, HPE declared the VM essential virtualization solution. In the future, if HPE integrates HPE SimpliVity with VM essential, that will be a great combination. Functionality-wise, I am totally satisfied with HPE SimpliVity, but for improvement, if HPE integrates its own virtualization solution, this combination and integration will be beneficial because this integration can be configured with the cloud-based system. A VM can be uploaded to the cloud from this, which will be advantageous for backup to other sites.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This is a scalable solution; our customers begin with an initial configuration and later add more servers, memory, and other options to meet the demands of increased processing."
"The solution's technical support was good. I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"As far as what we are doing now, there is no problem with stability; it's pretty flexible, it's efficient, and it is centralized management, cost-effective."
"The user interface, reporting, and management are good, and we are quite happy with the performance."
"We used to use Dell blades and we didn't have Virtual Connect, so configuring the networks and all of that for our servers took a lot longer."
"I recommend this solution, I think it's easier to implement Converged than other solutions."
"Consolidation and duplications features."
"The flexibility is the most advantageous aspect of the solution; our system has a very big environment and, due to this, the replication and backup operation is not an easy task, yet we prefer HPE SimpliVity modules in our environment even when we have some different cases in operations."
"Up scaling is very possible, and at any time it is scalable."
"I find the replication feature valuable."
"I like that I can create a service as I need it, I don't need new licenses for operating systems, I don't need to ask for server space, I don't need to wait for support, and I don't need to wait for monitoring."
"We had a standard HPE blade server, our reseller put forward SimpliVity to us, we tried it out and tested it, and I was like, "Wow," it blew us away."
"HPE SimpliVity is simple, it's very friendly."
"The interface is very good and is very easy to navigate. You can find everything you need from one central place."
"The way it does backups is its most valuable feature. It replicates snapshots with very low bandwidth. We only have a 50 megabit link to that site, and it doesn't really use much of it at all. Therefore, it is a really good fit for getting our backups done."
"There are three big improvements that SimpliVity brought to our organization: The ability to quickly and reliably create and maintain a disaster recovery environment over a relatively, low bandwidth WAN connection."

Cons

"It was a very rough ride. The people they sent, I don't think they had experience in doing these kinds of implementations before."
"My biggest pet peeve with the HC250 are the descriptions that they put on our parts list."
"HPE ConvergedSystem needs to improve its management. I would like the tool to add cloud management features so that the system can be accessed anywhere from the cloud."
"The solution needs to add NFS features."
"HPE ConvergedSystem needs to improve its price."
"It could be enhanced by improving the built-in backup solution."
"With ConvergedSystem, we'd like to see just how portable and scalable HP can make it. Is it really just an add-on each time and not a complete redesign?"
"Features that should be addressed concern the HPE functionality and the interaction with VMware."
"Sometimes it's a little bit difficult to get a hold of them, but once we get a hold of them, their technicians are great."
"In the next release of the solution, they should make updating the solution easier. Currently, we have HPE doing it for us but I would like to be able to do it."
"High availability for large production environments needs to be offered."
"There are some problems with support from HPE."
"They can bring more awareness about this product. In this part of the world or this region, people normally don't know about SimpliVity and its capabilities. The company we have it sold to hasn't been able to fully utilize all the features or understand the features. So, product awareness should be improved."
"We know that a small set of workloads are not suitable to run OK on the SimpliVity platform. Large database servers could be a problem running on the platform."
"A better GUI for some functions."
"Speed in catching up with VMware ESXi releases could also be slightly improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is sensitive."
"There are some extra costs in addition to the licensing costs for the yearly maintenance from professional third-party services."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
"This is an expensive solution."
"The pricing is competitive. Not a major problem. We have a subscription model."
"This is an expensive system and not every customer has the kind of budget to support it."
"I rate the product price an eight and a half on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"My company has a five year contract for HPE ConvergedSystem. The contracts depend on companies and sometimes it can be three years. The solution is worth its price."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis. The licensing cost also includes vCenter at a cost in the cloud solution."
"This solution, while costly as all these solutions are, was in fact less expensive than upgrading my old SAN."
"The licensing cost could be lower."
"All-in license, simple and fair."
"For most use cases, look to see if you can use all-flash as the price point, as it has come down significantly."
"The solution can be expensive if you are using a lot of nodes."
"I think it's a complete package. We buy the license with support for five years. It's a subscription, I will say, but it's included when you buy the SimpliVity solution from HPE. You have a contract with the software warranty and upgrades."
"One big advantage with SimpliVity is that you don't need the higher license cost or VMware to put together a simple SimpliVity solution."
