Sentiment score
4.4
Zoho Creator's cost-effectiveness, ease of use, and integration capabilities boost productivity, streamline workflows, and improve decision-making.
Migrating to GitLab is bringing time-saving benefits, and everything is easier to automate.
We have saved time significantly, reducing deployment time from four hours to five minutes per deployment.
I have seen a return on investment with Zoho Creator because we eliminated a point of sale software that was charging us 5 lakhs per year across all 26 malls.

Customer Service

Sentiment score
6.7
GitLab's customer service is generally positive, though some experience delays despite relying on stable resources and documentation.
Sentiment score
5.3
Zoho Creator's support is responsive and helpful, with room for improvement in response times for complex issues.
We have rarely needed to escalate issues to technical support since GitLab usually runs seamlessly.
I have interacted with architects for some advice during the implementation, and they were prompt in their response.
I have had meetings where they taught me, explained things, and provided guidance for starting from scratch.
I would rate technical support as a nine on a scale of 1 to 10.
If a remote session is needed, they provide immediate help.
When issues are escalated, responses are faster.

Scalability Issues

Sentiment score
7.3
GitLab is praised for its scalable, container-based architecture, adaptable for enterprises, with both vertical and horizontal scaling capabilities.
Sentiment score
5.6
Zoho Creator is praised for scalability and low-code features, but faces challenges with high traffic and potential cost issues.
It has all the features required for our coding and deployment needs, which makes it scalable to our changing requirements.
We're transitioning to OpenShift for future scalability with increased user numbers.
For scaling, other deployment options from GitLab's side need to be adopted.
There are certain limitations if the data volume is large due to execution limits.

Stability Issues

Sentiment score
8.2
GitLab is highly stable and reliable, with minor issues and availability above 99%, though updates may disrupt self-hosted versions.
Sentiment score
6.4
Zoho Creator is a stable, reliable platform, praised for security and efficient automation despite minor issues.
I have not encountered any performance or stability issues with GitLab so far.
The updates are frequent and demanding, happening at least once a week due to security reasons.

Room For Improvement

GitLab needs better integration, user-friendly interfaces, improved documentation, enhanced security, stability, pricing, and advanced CI/CD and AI features.
Zoho Creator users face challenges with role hierarchy, limited customization, stability issues, and inadequate support and integrations.
It would be beneficial to have a user-friendly interface for setting up these configurations, instead of just writing YAML files.
It is essential to conduct proper testing, such as unit tests and code coverage, within the SDLC pipelines.
GitLab can improve its user interface to make conflict resolution more user-friendly.
In terms of scalability, there are certain limitations if the data volume is large due to execution limits.
I want to see improvements in Zoho Creator focusing on AI capabilities because there currently seems to be very little AI usage in Zoho compared to the advancements in other software.
Improvement could come from the ability to implement and create custom dashboards or subforms in Zoho Creator.

Setup Cost

GitLab provides open-source and paid plans catering to various needs, with pricing comparable to market competitors.
Zoho Creator offers competitive and flexible pricing, but additional database costs can rise, especially impacting Indian mid-sized firms.
Even when working in other small organizations, we opted for GitLab as it was cost-efficient.
The pricing of GitLab is reasonable, aligning with what I consider to be average compared to competitors.
The price is high, and it limits user accessibility.
Zoho offers customizable pricing options, such as Zoho One, which provides access to all 40 applications for 1250.
Pricing is a little on the higher side for the Indian market, especially for mid-sized and small-sized companies with 30 to 40 users.
The standard plan costs around 800 per month for the Zoho One application.

Valuable Features

GitLab excels with CI/CD, seamless branch merging, robust security, and efficient collaboration, making it ideal for DevOps processes.
Zoho Creator offers flexible, low-code app development with strong integration, customization, and support for business processes and reporting.
As we implement automated testing and DevSecOps, it speeds up the process by forty to sixty percent.
The Ultimate version offers enhanced features for security scanning through DAST and SAST analysis, which have greatly benefitted our project workflow.
By integrating GitLab as a DevOps platform, we have enhanced agility, improved our time to market, and different teams can work collaboratively on various projects.
For analytics, we employ two tools: Zoho Creator itself and Zoho Analytics, where we can use SQL queries to fetch data from multiple platforms.
We can generate QR codes for free, whereas in CRM, QR generation requires external purchases.
Zoho Creator provides a quick turnaround in terms of project closures, which is the most important benefit.

Improved agility and time to market with CI/CD enhancements
The CI/CD pipelines in GitLab are highly valuable. Another important feature is the single source of repository, allowing efficient repository management and source code management. GitLab provides manageability by allowing us to manage source code effectively through separate repositories. Additionally, GitLab enables the creation of individual CI/CD pipelines for each repository, making software more agile. By integrating GitLab as a DevOps platform, we have enhanced agility, improved our time to market, and different teams can work collaboratively on various projects.

Custom dashboards and workflows optimize business tasks, but API updates and tech support challenges remain
AI is a developing tool that could enhance many aspects. Utilizing a more advanced UI and UX capability paired with more customization and ready-made modern templates for mobile and web apps could improve mobile responsiveness and branding controls. Additionally, regarding connections, not just with Zoho apps but also with external ones, there is a need for more pre-built connectors so users do not always require custom APIs. Optimizing the handling of large data sets, providing more enterprise-grade development options, and ensuring full offline mobile apps with automatic background sync would also be beneficial. Furthermore, reducing dependency on Deluge scripts for simple automations and introducing a more intuitive drag-and-drop workflow builder would make a difference. There is indeed a large team collaborating, so they can gain from stronger visual control and improve tracking for production development workflows.
