"The tool's most valuable feature is IPS. In my experience, I haven't encountered any issues with integration. It easily integrates with the FortiGate solution. However, verifying through documentation and assessing their support is necessary.""I found the upgrades valuable.""Routing and reporting are two areas where the product has an added advantage compared to any other product.""Fortinet offers comprehensive security solutions for various purposes.""The solution's application control is very powerful.""It is a scalable solution.""FortiGate Next Generation Firewall has a simple configuration.""The usability of the solution is its best feature."

Cons
"They can do more tests before they release new versions because I would like to be more assured. We had some experiences where they release something new and great, but some of the old features are disabled or they don't work well, which impacts the product satisfaction. The manufacturer should be able to prove that everything works or not only that it might work. This is applicable to most of the other services, software, and hardware companies. They all should work on this. We cannot trust every new release, such as a beta release, on the first day. We wait for some comments on the forums and from other companies that we know. We always wait a few weeks before we use the updated version. They should also extend the VPN client application, especially for Linux versions. Currently, it has an application for Linux devices, but it doesn't work the way we want to connect to the VPN. They use only the old connection, not the new one. They have VPN client applications for Windows and Mac, but they can add more useful features to better manage the devices and monitor the current health of each device. Such features would be helpful for our company.""A sandbox would be good in order to be able to inspect the emails containing spam and be able to validate the emails that contain malware, prior to delivering to the customer.""The customization could be improved. Cisco, for example, is much better at this. They need to work to be at least as good as they are.""Fortinet could improve the windows opener or the virtual IP solutions for opening windows. The virtual IP settings need improvement as firewalls are trending in new development directions.""The reports are very basic.""There are problems with the custom reporting of the unique traffic. The data is there, but it is too difficult for us to extract.""Web security solutions can be improved.""I think that the infrastructure for the VPN could be improved. The way that it is bundled also made it difficult to use and sell as it is too expensive."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"Technical support is not helpful.""The product keeps hanging.""FortiGate Next Generation Firewall's performance and threat intelligence could be improved.""I see problems with the licensing. If I have to add a new feature, we need to add a license.""The room for improvement is to have more flexibility on the virtual machines of their next-generation platforms.""Its load balancing feature could be easy to configure.""There's a limitation wherein you can only have about 30 virtual or secondary IPs on a particular interface.""The pricing of the solution is expensive, so it could be cheaper."

More FortiGate Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) Cons →

"I have found that the log-in/out process takes quite some time.""One of our challenges is ensuring the security of our cloud-based operations.""There are a few areas where the solution could be improved. For instance, we sometimes encounter connectivity issues, which can be problematic. Recently, I experienced a connectivity issue while trying to move to Azure. Connectivity issues can be quite frustrating.""Its initial setup process is complex for a hybrid environment.""Offering in-app explanations detailing what each feature does, its benefits and potential use cases can help users better understand and utilize the tool to its full potential.""There is a very small amount of downtime.""Perimeter 81 could enhance its reporting and analytics capabilities to provide more detailed insights into network activity.""I don't know if it is technically feasible, however, if the Desktop App could be used as a Web App or a Chrome Extension it would be very nice."

Pricing and Cost Advice
