Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Provides comprehensive monitoring and policy implementation with room for memory optimization
ESET PROTECT Enterprise makes the system a little slow sometimes and updates occur at startup. Sometimes unwanted pop-ups appear to users, and they are unable to disable them. The user-friendliness is lacking in some areas. When users are using any computer, ESET PROTECT Enterprise should work in the background without consuming much memory, and any updates should proceed in the background without disturbing the user.

Unified security monitoring has reduced alert fatigue and improves proactive threat hunting
I use real-time monitoring in ReliaQuest GreyMatter, which significantly improves my security posture. The unified interface helps reduce alert fatigue. I would estimate it saves around 20% in alert fatigue reduction. The automated threat hunting capabilities in ReliaQuest GreyMatter help me stay ahead of threats. The machine learning algorithm benefits my threat intelligence by providing deeper insights and predictions. I use various metrics to rate the success of the predictive threat intelligence in ReliaQuest GreyMatter.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool's use cases are relevant to security."
"We have found in our test Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks to be a very good tool."
"The tool is easy to use."
"Cortex XDR's most valuable feature is its intelligence-based dashboards."
"The solution's most valuable feature is its ability to rapidly detect certain hardware files."
"We can use Cortex XDR to get the entire graph of the incidents from source to destination, and we can take remedial action."
"Traps has drastically reduced our endpoint attack surface via advanced detection capabilities, sandboxing of never before seen programs, and by drastically limiting where executables can launch in the first place."
"The integrations are out-of-the-box, as are the playbooks."
"ESET's strong points are that it is an unintrusive, easy-to-maintain, and deploy antivirus solution."
"ESET is better in some ways than other vendors because it fulfills many areas where we'd otherwise have to use different products."
"I like the dynamic groups feature. They give the ability to filter endpoint machines by any parameter, software, or hardware inventory, and that's a significant advantage when you need to, for example, automate a secondary firewall profile for endpoints outside your network. Or if you want to automatically isolate the computer from the rest of the network if the ransomware is found."
"The technical support of ESET is very good."
"The solution provides EDR. You can customize how you prepare the endpoint for clients and the dashboard alerts."
"The solution doesn't have high memory usage."
"From my personal perspective, it is easy to see on the console what's happening with each system."
"It is easy to patch, update, and set up scheduled scans."
"ReliaQuest GreyMatter saves around 60% of time or resources."
"ReliaQuest GreyMatter has helped us to reduce security incidents by 89%, which is a significant amount of incidents we have seen."

Cons

"If you compare it to SentinelOne, which has more functionalities and detection capabilities on an open platform, the pricing on SentinelOne is far more reasonable and cheaper than Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks."
"Cortex XDR should have a lightweight agent, and the agent size should not be heavy."
"Based on our experience so far, its implementation is quite complex."
"Impact on system performance is horrible, adding a lot of delays for users."
"We would also like to have advanced tech protection and email scanning."
"The downsides of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks are that in many incidents, when I enter the causality chain, there are numerous logs."
"Data privacy is a matter of concern. You have to be careful with data privacy, it can be sensitive and Cortex can have most of your access."
"In an upcoming release, the solution could improve by proving hard disk encryption. If it could support this it would be a complete solution."
"I would like to see more features on the reporting side of things."
"In terms of management accounts, there's a lot of manuals that seem to be mixed up. Sometimes, it's a little bit confusing."
"When it first starts up, it takes a lot of processing power when the machine is initially booted. Improving the startup side could be beneficial."
"The solution can be quite technical and therefore is challenging for new users."
"Certain updates prompt the computer to restart automatically. Users have complained that it initiates computer restarts during their work without intervention."
"The management console could be improved. Sometimes, agents lose connection with the management console, and the administration team needs to reinstall the agents on the computers."
"The availability and sustainability could also be improved."
"Sometimes, the connection to the machine requires troubleshooting."
"Areas that have room for improvement include user interface and integration."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It has a higher cost than other solutions, like CrowdStrike or Microsoft’s EDR tools, but it reduces the cost of our operations because it’s a new generation antivirus tool."
"The price was fine."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is quite an expensive solution."
"The price of the solution could be reduced. I have customers that have voiced that the solution is good for the value but if I want to sell more of the solution the price reduction would help."
"Its pricing is kind of in line with its competitors and everybody else out there."
"The solution has one subscription for endpoint protection and one subscription for detection and response. The two licenses combined give you the BRO version."
"It has a yearly renewal."
"When we first bought it, it was a bit expensive, but it was worth it. The licensing was straightforward."
"The product is cost-effective compared to one of its competitors."
"There is a license needed to use ESET Protect. The licensing cost is very low, it is approximately $10 per license."
"ESET PROTECT Enterprise is affordable."
