We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We can use Defender to block and monitor for security purposes without needing multiple other products to do different tasks.""The Endpoint Manager is incredible; it has a very straightforward interface and is exceedingly easy to use. Pulling out and deploying different tags or resources is a simple task across various departments with different levels of security. The notifications are also simple and satisfying; it's great to see the bubble informing us which devices are compliant and which are waiting to update.""The integration with other Microsoft solutions is the most valuable feature.""Many people don't realize that Microsoft Azure, Exchange Online, and the security and compliance portal all sync together. For instance, within the Azure portal you can set security restrictions and policies to help secure your tenants... The good part of it is that these products have already been integrated. When you sign on as an admin you have global admin rights and that gives you access to all these features.""The most valuable feature is the network security.""I like that it's stable. It's been stable for a long time, and Microsoft Defender has done a good job there.""It provides a single pane of glass within the 365 admin interface, streamlining our experience by consolidating information in one place and eliminating the need to navigate through multiple interfaces.""The EDR features are valuable. By getting the EDR features, we have more control over the device. We have information about events in real-time and more protection against zero-day threats and zero-day vulnerabilities. We can monitor every event or action that a device is going through. We can get an idea if it is something malicious or if we have to take any actions."

"The most valuable features are the complete IPS and IDS.""Overall, what I found most valuable in CrowdStrike Falcon is its good mechanism. It also has a good reporting feature. CrowdStrike Falcon is an invaluable tool because, through it, you can take quick action, for example, when an OS is missing specific patches.""All the features are beneficial.""The scalability is good.""I like the overall reports of this solution. They are crisp, and to the point.""The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon is crowdsourcing intelligence.""The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon for me is its unified sensor, applicable across all models.""The most useful feature is that we do not need to install or keep signature files. Regular scanning that consumes a lot of computer resources is not needed."

"ESET PROTECT Enterprise is reliable.""The product enabled Zero-Day Protection for our environment. We never encountered any issues regarding threats.""The solution doesn't have high memory usage.""We can easily manage resources, disable or enable clients and update them.""The solution offers a lot of configuration capabilities.""It's helped us with restrictions and knowing which users we can provide permissions to and which users we need to restrict.""ESET is better in some ways than other vendors because it fulfills many areas where we'd otherwise have to use different products.""I like the dynamic groups feature. They give the ability to filter endpoint machines by any parameter, software, or hardware inventory, and that's a significant advantage when you need to, for example, automate a secondary firewall profile for endpoints outside your network. Or if you want to automatically isolate the computer from the rest of the network if the ransomware is found."

Cons
"This solution could be improved if it included features such as those offered by Malwarebytes.""Since all of our databases are updated and located in the cloud, I would like additional support for this.""The data recovery and backup could be improved.""The interface could be improved. For example, if you want to do a phishing simulation for your employees, it can take a while to figure out what to do. The interface is a bit messy and could be updated. It isn't too bad, but doing some things can be a long process.""In the beginning, it's difficult to navigate the system because it is quite large. Just trying to find your way and understand how the system works can be hard. After spending quite a lot of time searching it's a lot easier, but I wish it were a bit more user-friendly when you're trying to find things.""The support from Microsoft could improve. There are times I have to wait for a response from a qualified specialist.""Advanced attacks could use an improvement.""The cost can be high if you want to build custom license packages. Another area for improvement is the policies. In Azure, we need to implement policies in JSON format, but in 365 Defender 365, it would be helpful to use a different format so we can customize the platform."

More Microsoft Defender XDR Cons →

"For CrowdStrike to work, all the machines need to have an internet connection. This makes it challenging to assist customers without an internet connection. We would like to have a mechanism or relay to make this possible.""CrowdStrike needs to quit making up stuff about its features and functionality to bash its competition.""The dashboard area must be improved. We have integration with Splunk, and we are creating a dashboard there. Their dashboard area must be up to date. It should have more details and more options to create the reports and things like that.""Crowdstrike Falcon XDR can improve the integration. There are some locks on the cloud to on-premise integrations.""To simplify the budgeting process for our clients, CrowdStrike should consider offering bundled packages that include essential features.""CrowdStrike should add support for ransomware protection.""Technical support could be better than what is currently offered.""I have experience with a product called SentinelOne, which has a feature that allows for the customization of query languages. I would like to see such a feature for CloudStrike."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Cons →

"I would like to see more in managing mobile devices in an on-premise solution. The latest news I've heard is that ESET drops mobile management module development for the on-prem version. It's moving to the cloud. Like in endpoint client protection, I would also like to see more of the vulnerability management features and additional app control functionality in ESET Protect.""Sometimes, the connection to the machine requires troubleshooting.""I would like to see more features on the reporting side of things.""Its automation can be improved.""ESET Protect could improve the performance. The performance of the home computers and laptops becomes slow due to their heavy software load. It would be a benefit to make a lighter version of the software which does not have any impact on the performance of the computer's hardware.""The tool is complex and expensive.""The availability and sustainability could also be improved.""In terms of management accounts, there's a lot of manuals that seem to be mixed up. Sometimes, it's a little bit confusing."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solutions price is fair for what they offer."
  • "The price could be better. Normally, the costs depend on the country you're located in for the license. When we were in the initial stage, we went with the E5 license they call premium standard. It cost us around $5.20 per month for four users."
  • "The price of the solution is high compared to others and we have lost some customers because of it."
  • "Microsoft is not competitive with the pricing of the solution. The competitors are able to offer lower discounts. The price of the solution is higher."
  • "We have a lot of problems in Latin America regarding the price of Microsoft 365 Defender, because the relationship between dollars and the money of the different countries, it's is a lot. Many customers that have small businesses say that they would like the solution but it is too expensive. However, large companies do not find the cost an issue."
  • "The most valuable licensing option is expensive, so pricing could be improved. Licensing options for this solution also need to be consolidated, because they frequently change."
  • "Microsoft should provide lower-level licensing options. They should do it in such a way that even an individual could purchase a license, and it should be entirely flexible."
  • "They have moved from a licensing model to pay-per-use... The question is: What happens if, for any reason, there's not enough budget to accept this model? That could be a great problem."

  • "The pricing will depend upon your volume of usage."
  • "I would like them to further reduce the price, because it is quite pricey at the moment."
  • "Purchasing the product through the AWS Marketplace is just a click away. Since we were using the on-premise version of the product, we continued on the cloud by purchasing it through the AWS Marketplace."
  • "I do not have experience with the cost or licensing of the product."
  • "The other administrator and I can log in to check the exact details of what happened, what was running, and what caused the detection. We know exactly what was happening on the end users PC and we can tell if it's something that we actually need or something that's malicious."
  • "We are at about $60,000 per year."
  • "This solution has a very competitive price."
  • "Our company pays approximately US$ 65,000 annually for 900 machines."
