Installation and integration are areas that are quite easy to manage
With ERPNext, some business challenges will definitely be there. So far, my company has seen that it cannot go for bigger enterprise models, like SAP. With SAP, it is a completely different game, whereas for the SMEs having almost 100 to 500 users, ERPNext can be a good tool. With ERPNext, there can be some challenges in the case of business or routing. The tool is suitable if you have a multi-cloud environment in your company or if there is some company that prefers to be branded as an enterprise business. As there are so many third-party integrations, depending on third-party applications, all those. You know? I mean, you have so many CRM models, but the thing is that with the ERP ERPNext CRM, you can't compare it with Salesforce. For the SME sector, the tool is good. The tool's features are developed for a bigger network. It will take a little bit of time, but as of now, we can see that the tool is good for the SME sector. The tool has not come up with anything for some specific domains, like construction domains. Right now, it is a big challenge to use the tool in the education domain, but right now, the product has resolved it. Many people use the tool since it has a larger network. The tool keeps developing, and it will take time to develop. For the education domain, the tool will have to come up with LMS features and transportation, which make up for small challenges.

Centralizes our enterprise-wide functions but could benefit from cloud migration
We have dealt with customer service, and it was awful. For a system this size, it felt like we were merely buying software from them. They weren't really partnered with us on it. Reporting bugs and getting feedback, as well as having engineers work on issues, was very transactional. There was no real ownership on Oracle's part. During several support cases, it became difficult to determine ownership at Oracle and get status updates. The on-premises Oracle support is not great in my experience, and I think this is true in the industry. We've read about their software as a solution, and theoretically, their SaaS portal support is a lot better.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a very user-friendly tool that is customizable based on the business environment."
"It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...I rate the product's initial setup a nine on a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy."
"Oracle's technical support is better than others."
"It is a very consistent product on IBM. There is also a lot of knowledge data."
"It makes financial operations easier to perform."
"E-Business Suite's best features are the standard process, the table dictionary, and the ability to work with the SQL language to correlate data."
"Valuable features include expense management and the accounting suite of products."
"Really scalable business application suite with good technical support and straightforward patching."
"Has good dashboard and drill-down features."
"I think one of the best use cases is centralizing supplier and customer data into our finance system. We identified there were so many duplicate suppliers and customers and so a lot of time was spent reporting."

Cons

"The tool has not come up with anything for some specific domains, like construction domains."
"The look, feel, and color are areas in ERPNext that can be improved."
"We are moving to the cloud and are looking at the cloud version of it for the cost of ownership and a more modernized integrated platform."
"We have dealt with customer service, and it was awful. For a system this size, it felt like we were merely buying software from them."
"A downside of Oracle E-Business Suite is its interface because it's less user-friendly than the latest cloud solutions. As an organization, Oracle now has more interest in cloud applications, so nowadays, it doesn't focus much on Oracle E-Business Suite, an on-premises solution, so this is another downside."
"There are always some bugs and missing patches."
"Oracle has improved a lot because Oracle E-Business Suite is quite outdated. Oracle built the Oracle Fusion platform and it has many improved processes. We registered a few enhancements requests, but it's a very long bureaucratic process with Oracle. It doesn't make any sense to communicate with Oracle about what changes should be made to the system."
"The way things are going, Oracle is not putting much effort into their master data management. They need to look into machine data and then the integrated data domain."
"Movement to the cloud should be supported. Product support still needs to be improved."
"Technical support is focused on-cloud versus on-premise customers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Price-wise, ERPNext is a cheap product. There are no licensing costs attached to ERPNext since it is an open-source product. You have to pay for the solution's hosting and implementation process."
"If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the product price as a three."
"The pricing of Oracle E-Business Suite is too high."
"Oracle E-Business Suite is heavy subscriptions based and the solution's upgrades, under the technology licensing, are quite costly. Additionally, support is an extra cost. The price of the solution could be reduced."
"The license is very expensive and I think that it needs to be cheaper to get a wider range of users or customers."
"At the time of purchasing the license the price was reasonable."
"Find a best Oracle partner and get a better discount."
"USD $100,000 annually."
"We have an annual license to use the Oracle E-Business Suite and we have an enterprise license."
"This is a highly-priced application and would not be affordable for small or medium business domains."
