DX NetOps can be improved by expanding its integrations with different tools, as it can currently integrate with Spectrum and other Broadcom products. It would be beneficial to gain integration capabilities with tools such as New Relic or SolarWinds. Integration with DX NetOps occurs through API, which fetches metrics from those tools, and this is currently happening in our area, with DX NetOps receiving data not only from Spectrum but also from New Relic and SolarWinds. DX NetOps could be improved by providing more communication methods beyond SNMP traps to accommodate different private clouds, especially as customers increasingly adopt vendor-specific clouds. For example, Sainsbury's uses SAP cloud, SAS, and Oracle cloud, where monitoring is not currently possible through DX NetOps and Spectrum, which are limited to certain mechanisms. Within the organization, SNMP is usable, but to display metrics from outside the organization, different communication methods such as agent-based connections, TCP/IP, or secured connections are necessary—features not currently available in DX NetOps and Spectrum.

Has supported real-time event detection and reporting accuracy while database integration has required extra effort
Sometimes it may be difficult to incorporate new additional databases in NetMon, and we faced some challenges at that time. However, currently, it is not giving many challenges. It is difficult to integrate NetMon with other databases. We can customize NetMon's monitoring views, but it is done by the team who handles it, as it is outsourced.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best features I've seen so far with DX NetOps are that it can work with large scale systems, and it has a lot of functionalities and matrices."
"The solution is stable."
"It is straightforward to configure, and you can quickly gather data from your infrastructure."
"I like that it provides an overall view of our network. From the topology view to every event, we can view it. We can also see the interface utilization for future capacity planning. It fits our use case and environment."
"I rate the stability of the product as ten on a scale of one to ten, indicating that it is very stable."
"A highly scalable solution."
"It's good for root cause analysis for network problems and network link problems."
"DX NetOps network monitoring and fault tolerance are the absolute best in the market, especially for the Indian market."
"LogRhythm NetMon's most impressive feature is that it's a bundled package, so you're not just relying on monthly data; you get a six-month view for more comprehensive indicators of compromise. This dual approach is precious. We implement LogRhythm NetMon in our cybersecurity strategy mainly for compliance and correlation of network, user, and decision activities, particularly for network firewalls and access control."
"NetMon's best feature is traffic analysis."
"The analytics feature is the most valuable feature."
"In general, this is a good product."
"Compared to many other products in the market, I think LogRhythm has the highest cost to performance ratio in terms of its value."
"We were sold on the product based on the fairly narrow use cases that the sales reps gave us, and what we're seeing during our usage is that we can get there, and we're very excited about the potential."
"It has a very strong artificial intelligence engine."
"But just having it there, it's incredibly smart, incredibly easy to use, and the breadth of information we get off it is really good for investigations for us."

Cons

"The licensing cost of DX NetOps is expensive, not very affordable, and on the top of the price range in the market."
"DX NetOps is somewhat convoluted, and some of the programming constructs can be documented or driven through languages such as Python, Perl, and shell scripting, but they have their proprietary language, which may not be very user-friendly."
"Technical support could be more responsive."
"It would be useful to have more AI features."
"Lacks dashboards and better integration with other solutions."
"It would be better if they had an NFA network analysis feature. We appreciate features like extended network security for bucket flows, but it would be better to have some IDs, IPS functionalities, DDoS, or something like that."
"I would like DX NetOps to integrate with all Broadcom products in the future to make it closer to a rating of 10."
"One improvement that could make the product better is to streamline its modules into a more cohesive solution."
"One thing that surprised me was the current version of LogRhythm does not natively support Windows 2016."
"There is an issue with tunneling in relation to how the connectivity is established between the end devices and where NetMon is installed. On the console, I often observe that there's a difference of a few seconds or maybe a minute, and this lag time should not be there."
"Could use a topology diagram which would help get an exact visual."
"Sometimes it's hard to find the network devices' self-audit logs."
"LogRhythm NetMon's pricing model is an area of concern that should be made a little bit cheaper in comparison to the other players in the market currently."
"The training for this product is not very good and needs to be improved."
"The training for this product is not very good and needs to be improved."
"The main concern is that LogRhythm has not improved NetMon but instead introduced a separate product, which many customers, including us, would prefer to be integrated into a single platform for easier management."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The price of this solution is too high, so it should be made more practical and more valuable for the customer."
"The product is expensive for smaller companies."
"NetMon's licensing costs about $85k per year, with some extra costs for support."
"Pricing is okay. There were some competitors that were extremely expensive and there were some which were really inexpensive but LogRhythm stayed in the middle of them."
"LogRhythm's licensing part is something that depends on the license you want since they offer it on a perpetual and subscription basis."
"I don't have visibility into the pricing of LogRhythm NetMon as it's handled through our commercial partnerships."
