Automating dashboards has saved time and now supports prompt-driven task workflows
My main use case for Digital.ai Agility is learning to create a dashboard and prompt engineering. I am trying to automate my tasks by automating the dashboard The best feature Digital.ai Agility offers me so far is that I write a prompt and receive the result for that. I see the time saving with…

Has increased developer confidence by enabling safe production releases using targeted feature toggles
I wish we were using more targeting in our feature toggles and I wish we were using more feature toggles as well as feature toggle dependencies. Making one feature toggle or one set of feature toggles dependent on another one would allow us to turn them all on or turn them all off at one time. For improvements in LaunchDarkly, managing team members and access to those team members was challenging. We could add team members through Terraform and do it programmatically, and then modify it through the user interface. However, once we started modifying things through the interface, we weren't able to go back to using any configuration programmatically for the team members. It made it challenging to orchestrate team member management. The other aspect I wasn't particularly fond of was when they started adding AI to the interface and deployment interface. It reminded me of old school wizards when installing software and simplified the interface too much, removing some of the engineering control I preferred.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"For visualization capabilities, the automation capabilities make it possible to support the different personas. The features and capabilities are excellent and come with excellent support."
"It can generate reports showing a burndown chart, burnup chart, and the planned vs actual velocity."
"It allows my clients to have one central tool to manage their agile projects."
"You can use Digital.ai Agility for automating your tasks and creating your dashboard."
"VersionOne delivers a total ALM solution for whether you are operating a single team, like Scrum and Kanban for IT operations, or implementing an agile enterprise approach, like SAFe."
"Agility is highly flexible. It can do much more than what our client is doing with it. They use it in a defined way. Some at that company have a much broader knowledge of agile and SAFe, but they're given applications and a mandated way to work. We had to work within their parameters and provide an accurate transition so the data would be mapped and pushed through."
"Digital.ai Agility helped our organization define the Enterprise Value Streams, and in the tool you can derive all user stories, features, and epics from the top-level portfolio items and value streams so any work that is done must contribute to the value streams, otherwise it should be questioned why that effort is being executed."
"The solution is excellent for collaboration; from the agility point of view, they have very good sprint functionality, allowing you to set up sprints effectively."
"The best feature LaunchDarkly offers is the capability of having a feature flag that we don't have to build in-house."
"It has really helped during the series of product lines and faster deployment and faster development."
"These features in my current project have helped my team because they allow us to specifically target users to start turning on functionality, we can monitor the behavior and make sure that it's behaving as expected when the feature toggle is turned on, and then we can increase the usage."
"The initial setup is very easy."
"The ability to turn off a flag is crucial when a task is not complete, especially if there is an error in a commit."
"From the development side, it allows us to manage multiple things."
"I appreciate that we can release any feature in production and maintain control over it."
"The setup is easy."

Cons

"In my work as a contractor, it's always frustrating when a client has multiple software applications that don't talk to each other and they all perform the same function. That presents a huge challenge between their IT groups."
"There is room for improvement in getting the analytics portion of the solution more integrated with the rest of it."
"It was not supporting some plugins. We wanted to migrate data that we were already using."
"The machine learning features are a new capability but could be improved. This is being worked by Digital.ai currently. Multicolor simulation, specifically, could be improved."
"The user interface can be improved by adding Save, Edit, Add, Cancel, and Return buttons to the popup windows that are displayed when you click on a child item."
"The response from Digital.ai Agility is a little bit slow and could be faster."
"Improve how to create and track releases. Currently, I have to create child projects."
"We need experience to use it, and the initial setup can be difficult. Also, sometimes it has breakdowns."
"The feature where one feature flag is dependent on another could be explored more for our usage."
"LaunchDarkly can be improved by managing old flags. We have an issue with old flags; it became very messy very fast and we need to be very disciplined about managing these flags."
"When the system has an excessive number of feature flags, managing them can become cumbersome."
"Fetching information about multiple flags in a single action would be beneficial."
"I did not particularly like the rule area; there are many things to add into the rule to enable it, and I think we could make it easier or more customizable at the organizational level."
"I think LaunchDarkly's customer support can be improved as it is not responsive."
"Managing team members and access to those team members was challenging. We could add team members through Terraform and do it programmatically, and then modify it through the user interface. However, once we started modifying things through the interface, we weren't able to go back to using any configuration programmatically for the team members."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Comparing the pricing to other products, I think this solution is in the middle."
"You get what you pay for. Don't let your development teams dictate what the portfolio management team should use as the main tool."
