Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Easy to deploy with great security and responsive support
The security on offer is the most valuable aspect of the solution. It offers, for example, two-factor authentification. The remote connection across platforms is great. You can deploy it on anything, including Windows, Mac, iOS, your iPhone, et cetera. It offers multi-platform utility. This makes it great for enterprise. Users can use it for PAM access as well. The feature of Devolutions that has improved our customer's efficiency the most is probably the security side. It's gotten a lot tighter. Authentication and secure connections are helpful. They use encryption between them, which is just standard for them. The company has so many regulatory controls that they must ensure their security is very tight. There's a lot of potential cybercrime around casinos, and this solution ensures they are well-protected. Devolutions is a great product that can be safely used between China, Australia, or the Philippines, and it remains a good, safe product.

Fast and has a friendly UI; allows you to consume heavy applications
An area for improvement in OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is the installation process because you need some technical knowledge to install it. Implementing the solution requires knowledge and understanding, so if you're a user, you'd need IT assistance to set up OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX). What's lacking in OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is a help portal for users to ask questions and seek assistance. The website has a standard FAQs page, but I would like more articles and online material, so you can deal with questions and some of the issues that arise rather than dealing with customer support. I want a portal or online system similar to what Microsoft provides for Microsoft Office products.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If the product works, remote access will be a benefit. To this point we have not had reason to have confidence in achieving that access."
"Once it is well integrated with the rest of the environment, it makes everything easy."
"The Autopilot feature is the most valuable because it saves significant time on managing devices."
"Conditional access has helped us tailor and enforce our security policies in the mobile space."
"I would say the biggest benefit is the single-pane view. There's no jumping around multiple UI's to do your overall management."
"It's normally able to meet 100% expectations of our customers."
"Internet-based access with security is what I have found to be most valuable. It is also a stable and scalable solution."
"It is user-friendly, and the performance is also good. It is a convenient product"
"Devolutions's team is constantly making improvements to their products. If you submit a feature request, they are usually quick to implement it."
"The remote connection across platforms is great."
"It really helps to have all the data already pre-entered and all I have to do is enter the password."
"Setup and installation was simple."
"The ability to have all the connection information in one location saves so much time from trying to manage the same information across different applications."
"Documentation per entry, good for device configs or important/special instructions."
"Allows us to configure limited access to resources with the security-based role feature (which we use for trainees and new employees)."
"Initial setup was very straightforward."
"The most helpful feature of OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is that it allows you to consume heavy applications that usually have a lot of latency. I also like that the solution is fast and has a friendly UI."
"The solution is perfect for Linux users."

Cons

"Not all technicians are knowledgeable of the Microsoft solution, so they have to work on that as well."
"In the past, I raised some tickets for the enhancement feature, which was missing in Intune."
"Sometimes, customers compare it with AirWatch, but the concept of Intune is different from other solutions. It's an application management app. It gets a bit difficult to explain it to customers, but it's not a product limitation. It takes a presale document or presentation to explain it to customers."
"For autopilot, there should be more granularity on the settings that they offer at this stage."
"I would like to see better integration with Microsoft. There are a few things I can still do with Jamf that I am unable to do with Intune yet."
"I'm still playing around with it and haven't had any issues with the product yet, but support can definitely be improved."
"The biggest problem we ever have is when something goes out of date after 30 days when nobody has logged into it. We do have a problem trying to get those back online. We've been working with Microsoft to resolve that problem, but that's been the only issue that we've had in the last few years."
"Due to the abundance of features, there's a lot to organize, which makes managing and setting up the solution challenging. The setup is immense, and it would be good to see improvement in this area."
"If there was a way to streamline the process, it would make it nice."
"Security roles could be improved, especially by enabling renaming of a role."
"Maybe some clipboard functions could be added along with integration of different software."
"Sometimes the manual inventory of some entries hangs, and RDM must be closed via task manager."
"The filing system of connections is a little clunky, but is completely functional."
"Sometimes when updating, the install window is on top of the prompt to close the application."
"There are always bugs to squash, beyond that, it is really kind of difficult for new users to discover and use many of the features due to the bewildering array of choices and ways to do things."
"On complex setups, I actually needed to reach out to support to get it working correctly."
"The performance of the graphical interface needs improvement. They should add some CPU to speed graphic acceleration."
"An area for improvement in OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is the installation process because you need some technical knowledge to install it. What's lacking in OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is a help portal for users to ask questions and seek assistance."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost is somewhat on the higher side, particularly when considering certain price points, especially in markets like India."
"Generally, we get favorable discounts, so it's not too bad. Obviously, we're looking at decreasing those wherever we can to bring value back to the public purse because it's all charity based. It's all publicly funded."
"Microsoft Intune is reasonably priced for large organizations that already have Microsoft Enterprise licenses, but it is less affordable for smaller businesses."
"Its licensing model is not complex, but it is very expensive compared to other solutions. They can bring more models and reduce the pricing. They should allow customers to select the features they want and price it accordingly."
"The solution is cost-efficient."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis."
"Intune is inexpensive. It also comes bundled in some Office 365 licenses, so you can choose to purchase it separately or as a package."
"The product is expensive."
"The Free Edition is completely free. You can try also the Enterprise Edition for 30 days for free."
"Setup costs for most people is negligible."
"If you are a Microsoft MVP, VMware vExpert, Cisco Champion, etc., Devolutions offers a free Enterprise License."
"Pricing for OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is five out of ten. It's not that expensive, and it's not that affordable."
