Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Offers good UI but needs to improve its integration capabilities
Speaking about how the tool is useful in automating repetitive tasks in our company, I would say that my company started to collect data with the help of Datamatics while also using its GPS tracking features. The tool's UI is much better than the ones offered by other similar products in the market. I recommend the product to others who plan to use it. I suggest that others use their own method of interrogation since it will help them achieve more growth in their organizations through the use of the tool. I rate the tool a seven and a half out of ten.

Automation has transformed document processing and frees teams to focus on higher‑value analysis
Sometimes, we encounter system errors that could be resolved via support, but connection issues are more frequent in enterprise applications. However, these can usually be solved by raising tickets if you are part of an enterprise, though we are not, which makes it somewhat challenging. It is vital to ensure the connections of UiPath Platform are maintained because it has a larger community. If UiPath Platform website included more features and documentation accessible easily, it would greatly enhance the experience. Instead of continually needing to raise support tickets, having a documentation hub where details can just be entered to retrieve required documents would be extremely beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"For people looking for my recommendation for an automation product, I definitely would recommend Automation Anywhere instead of going for a more orthodox or older technology."
"It has helped us look at how our processes are organized."
"Some of the key features of Automation Anywhere include the simplicity that enables developers to build bots very quickly in a standard delivery fashion."
"So far, the experience with Automation Anywhere in the last two and a half years has been wonderful."
"AA RPA has drastically reduced speed of execution and thus turn around time of processes, ensuring all service level agreements are met and our customers get a great experience."
"I'm impressed with the scalability. We are able to do changes. We are able to scale from different environments now with the Control Room in version 10 and 11. The scalability is pretty good. It is up to the mark of the other market competitors."
"The use cases we're working on and the deterministic automations implemented so far have given us a great productivity boost in various functional areas across the globe, which has significantly helped the organization, and as we evolve towards more agentic and AI features from Automation Anywhere, these will further assist us in achieving end-to-end process automation rather than just peripheral automations."
"The Control Room for the bots and its ability to connect bots with APIs are the most valuable features."
"We believe that the value and the cost of the Datamatics TruBot really fits financial institutions' budgets much better than what we'd call the big three, the Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UiPath."
"Ability to calculate the ROI on the jobs that are running."
"The solution is very stable and we have not had any issues."
"The solution is inexpensive compared to many other solutions in the market."
"The product's initial setup phase is straightforward and easy to use."
"From our main systems, it integrates a platform for our citizens, sending them notifications."
"UiPath Platform has helped reduce human error and free up employee time as we implement use cases in production for automation."
"UiPath has freed time for our employees. With the shipping label robot, for example, we basically replaced two jobs and now they're able to do other things. They can take on other more vital responsibilities."
"It has been a huge monetary benefit."
"With UiPath, we can automate any module, whether it is a desktop application, web application, or native application."
"UiPath stands out in the market due to its comprehensive suite of solutions, which includes RPA, testing tools, IDP tools, Intelligent Process Automation (IPA), process mining tools, and communication mining tools."
"The software itself is relatively straightforward and easy to use."
"A lot of the prebuilt models that are on an AI Center are valuable. Being able to go in there and train your data, give sample data, label the fields, and different OCR methods are also valuable."

Cons

"I would rate Automation Anywhere's support a four out of ten because the support is horrible for all customers."
"There was a time when I would have rated it at around fifty-fifty percent, but now Automation Anywhere uses AI for customer support."
"For improvement, I would like to see Automation Anywhere integrating with multiple other technologies. As of now, it is integrating with .NET. When it come to future technologies, I want Automation Anywhere to integrate with Python scripts, and make the execution easier. That will be very helpful, having our cognitive technologies interacting with Automation Anywhere."
"One day, there will be a message box saying that the application is down or not available on a weekend. The instructions will say read the information and click, "Okay." But a bot doesn't understand the instructions because it is not the IQ system."
"Attended automation sometimes might go into exceptions, thus we need to monitor it in-between, then check whether it is working properly. This way, we ensure the bot is working properly."
"As a developer, I find Automation Anywhere's bot editor riddled with minor workflow issues that hinder productivity."
"The local support in Brazil could improve. While it has gotten better in the last few months, we've struggled as a global company trying to contact them sometimes."
"In the version that we have, there are some challenges with the browser-based applications, the cloning of the objects, and the solution's stability."
"Would like to see more additions to the library."
"There is a learning curve, and some training could be included to bring users up to speed."
"I'd like to see more additions to the library, which I believe currently has 200 plus items."
"The stability of the product has certain shortcomings, making it an area where improvements are required."
"While UiPath Platform already has many features such as orchestration to centrally schedule, trigger, monitor, and manage automation bots and workflows, it would be beneficial if it could provide full end-to-end automation, making it possible to automate everything in one platform in a single effort."
"The speed of upgrades is really hard to follow."
"They still need some improvement in their new version of UiPath Studio, called StudioX, to improve design for Excel and email automation work."
"For the moment, I don't see any explicit areas for improvement. However, having UiPath come up with unique features or advancements would be beneficial."
"UiPath needs to incorporate French and Portuguese language-based training. It is not easy for people without an IT background."
"When it comes to debugging, there is some improvement needed for UiPath compared to other RPA tools. It is really a pain to stop the entire debug session and just edit it, then start again at zero."
"A lot of the UiPath processes are capturing information from government websites. It's difficult to capture the correct format, so we need to use a third-party application to capture the information correctly. It would be better to have that capacity with UiPath, so we don't need another product."
"To improve, I notice a concern regarding support. For instance, if a vendor encounters an issue with UiPath Platform and is unable to resolve it via UiPath Platform developers or architects, they may raise a support ticket, but there can be delays in response."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are restricted to use one license on one PC. However, if my license is not working, I want to be able to use it somewhere else. This would be a nice improvement to the licensing, as other competitors in the market have better licensing terms."
"Our licensing costs are setup on an annual basis."
"There are a lot of savings in terms of effort and time as well as costs. Automation Anywhere automates a lot of processes. It allows an organization to save the efforts of a lot people. It saves a lot of time because people can't work a whole day (24/7), but Automation Anywhere bots can."
"It's cheaper than other similar solutions."
"One of the key features that we chose, the bot as a service or the BotFarm, when they launched version 11.3, they decided not to have the BotFarm anymore. This put us in a situation because we expected to have bots on demand, just like our cloud software. This would have been cost efficient for us to use. We hope to see this again being realized with A2019. I hope the scalability from an on demand basis improves."
"The price for Automation Anywhere is reasonable."
"The licensing cost is approximately $4,000 USD, which is a seed license."
"They all are very competitive today. At the end of the day, it boils down to the negotiations that happen and what type of partner you are."
"The tool is expensive."
"UiPath is expensive compared to other solutions like AutomationEdge, which is cheap. Last year, it wasn't too high, but I believe they updated their licensing model, making it very costly."
"I do not like the enormous jumps that they have had in the past. The ROI has become a lot harder because of the pricing changes. When you have time to plan for it, the ROI is there. If it was cheaper, it would make my life easier, but on the other hand, it is worth it."
"We license the product on a yearly basis and it costs us around $80,000."
"The pricing is transparent, and the best part is that they have the Community version, so there isn't anything to hide. You can try the cloud version. They offer plenty of time, two months, for a trial."
"If UiPath really wants to put Attended Robots out to everyone, there will be a cost issue. We have some that we are testing now and what their effect will be. However, these are the robots where the license model needs to change before we go full throttle in that direction."
"Our licensing costs are roughly 1.1 million Danish krones a year."
"The pricing is competitive. I like the solution's pricing structure."
"License costs are high, but the setup is really quick and does not demand a lot of resources involved."
