Provides comprehensive network visibility and helps us identify threats efficiently
The product could be improved in several areas. The complexity and confusion regarding product variants, such as XDR, Forexiant, and Forexon, must be addressed. There is also a need for clearer differentiation between features and capabilities within Cortex's suite, as the overlap between XDR and XIM can be confusing. Improvements in the user interface and more intuitive KQL query handling could also enhance usability. Additionally, better support for various deployment scenarios and cost management options would be beneficial.

Enhanced remote functionality complements intricate admin management
We are using it as co-management, working from SCCM and some from Intune. However, there are dissimilarities between SCCM and Intune, so we use SCCM for specific tasks or policies Currently, with the system, we have some remote tool functionality which is not available with Intune. We are also…

Pros

"The solution's stability is generally good."
"The solution's most valuable feature is writing playbooks."
"It was easy to integrate Cortex with existing infrastructure and other tech tools."
"It is quite scalable."
"SCCM provides remote tool functionality, which is not in Intune."
"We've been in contact with Microsoft technical support mainly. After doing the research ourselves and troubleshooting, etc., if we can't find a permanent solution, we contact Microsoft to help us fix the issue. Sometimes the issue never gets fixed even by Microsoft. It can sometimes require us to reinstall the solution. However, these are very rare instances."
"The reporting is very good."
"Many more features than other comparable products."
"For our cloud-based deployment of SCSM, the Autopilot is the best feature."
"The support from Microsoft is good and we also have local support on the ground in Nigeria."
"This solution is easy to use."

Cons

"It's quite lagging and not very fast."
"The complexity and confusion regarding product variants, such as XDR, Forexiant, and Forexon, must be addressed."
"It would be more beneficial to integrate threat intelligence in Cortex."
"They need more integration with open-source products."
"The patch management aspect of the solution should be improved. It's quite complicated and not user-friendly. If your systems are not patched properly, you are unable to pull reports."
"The configuration could be easier."
"Mobile application integration would be an improvement."
"The user interface needs to be improved."
"It's not too hard to compile stuff but it is hard to manage the solution. Even the design itself makes it difficult for management."
"Better integration with other services in Azure is needed because everything is moving from on-premises to the cloud, and as an integrator, we have to help our clients with the migration."
"It would be better if they had a portal for administrators. It would help me use it from anywhere and connect to any device from anywhere. I can administer the solution without a VPN."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's cheaper compared to its competitors."
"Cortex is an expensive solution."
"Cortex XDR is a costly solution."
"The platform is competitively priced."
"It is an expensive solution."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The price of the solution could be better. My organization has an enterprise annual license with Microsoft which provides us support."
"The license for SCSM is cheap."
"It is a lower price vs. other things on the market."
"I would rate the pricing as two out of five."
"It comes free with the enterprise agreement that we have, but the expense really is in having to buy another product to sit on top of it to make it work properly. You wind up having to buy additional support and additional product with their own support and maintenance costs on top of that."
