Unified risk scoring has improved our cloud visibility and simplifies remediation priorities
Qualys TotalCloud provides unified vulnerability and threat assessment across both IAS and SaaS. This solution provides a single prioritized view of risk, which helps reduce the work I would have to do. We are no longer based on CVSS; we are based on Qualys risk scoring, which is based on CVSS plus internal findings made by Qualys, and then assigns its own score. The TruRisk insight feature has found a small number of assets with high vulnerability scores, though I am cautious since some information is classified. Qualys TotalCloud has positively impacted our bank's performance, and we have definitely seen benefits after implementing this solution.

It helped us be more aware of what our security posture is, but not all of the features work in my environment
I would say CloudPassage is very useful for certain things. If you just want a few modules then focus on what you need and negotiate the price based on the individual module, rather than looking at the whole thing, because I didn't find all the modules very useful. Also, use Splunk in combination with it if you want reporting. I would give CloudPassage at least a seven out of 10. I rate it on the high-end because of the customer support - I've never seen any support that is comparable to that, it's very good, excellent. The support staff actually care, they actually follow up; it's very nice. And CloudPassage really listens to its customers. The product itself is very nice if you're only looking to check off your compliance requirements, but if you're looking for more of dashboarding and things like that, CloudPassage is improving but it's not quite there.

Centralized monitoring has strengthened cloud posture and prioritizes critical security risks
The best features Sophos Cloud Optix offers are cloud security posture management, CSPM, continuous monitoring for misconfiguration, compliance reporting, and centralized visibility across multi-cloud environments. I also find the risk prioritization helpful, as it helps me focus on the most critical security issues first, and the intuitive dashboards make it easy to understand the overall security posture. Additionally, the alerting and reporting capabilities help my team respond to issues quickly and maintain compliance with organizational security standards. Sophos Cloud Optix has positively impacted my organization by improving my visibility into cloud security and helping me identify misconfigurations before they became security incidents. It has reduced the time required to detect and investigate potential risks by providing prioritized alerts and centralized dashboards. As a result, my team responds to security issues more effectively and spends less time on manual reviews. It has also supported my compliance efforts by providing clear reporting and continuous monitoring, which has strengthened my overall cloud security posture.

"I depend heavily on the reports that I have from this tool."
"I highly recommend Qualys TotalCloud to other users."
"Qualys TotalCloud helps you not just to identify misconfigurations, but you can actually also fix issues."
"The best features in Qualys TotalCloud include the total asset management of the cloud environment. It is very easy to export the report and see the vulnerabilities related to the cloud specifically."
"Key features are the Software Vulnerability Assessment and the CSM, which is the configuration check."
"Our scores let us know when to trigger workflow to go out in a patch, it has reduced the amount of time we had to take to manually verify software and check our updates, and it helped us be more aware of what our security posture is."
"CloudPassage allowed us to implement changes that affected hundred of servers within our environments in seconds."
"Policies are very easy to manage on a day-to-day basis."
"Compared to Sophos, Symantec is like not having any protection at all, so once we deployed Sophos in multiple locations, we instantly had a sense of security."
"The most valuable feature for me would be the solution's endpoint protection."
"Sophos Cloud Optix has positively impacted my organization by improving my visibility into cloud security and helping me identify misconfigurations before they became security incidents."
"DLP is a valuable feature that we use a lot for info audits."
"Sophos Cloud Optix impacts us positively in many ways, particularly in security, which is an important part, and it helps us save time and in optimization for performance and cost."
"Since adopting Sophos Cloud Optix, audit prep time has dropped from several days to just a few hours thanks to automated compliance checks, while multi-cloud visibility has cut incident investigation time by nearly fifty percent since we no longer have to jump between AWS and Azure consoles, and IAM analytics have reduced over-privileged accounts by about thirty percent, lowering risk."
"Sophos Cloud Optix has had a clear positive impact on my organization, improving compliance efficiency by cutting audit prep from weeks to minutes, thanks to automatic checks, and strengthening our cloud security posture with misconfigurations flagged before they become risks, resulting in reduced incidents and downtime."
"Sophos Cloud Optix has positively impacted my organization by providing benefits such as better visibility into cloud assets, faster identification of misconfigurations and over-privileged access, and quick response."

Cons

"The price is very expensive, actually."
"A feature improvement could be the inclusion of Windows OS support for container security, as it is currently only supported for Linux."
"TotalCloud could improve its scanning of niche devices like Wi-Fi dongles and USB modems because they are often untested. It covers everything else, like laptops, mobile devices, and Bluetooth IoT devices. They can improve on the small IoT devices because hackers and testers use these."
"The main area needing improvement is integration. Although the team is strengthening TotalCloud, integration can be enhanced with SIEM, SOAR, ITSM, and other sources."
"The support process is inefficient due to the excessive number of replies required when submitting tickets."
"Overall, we are satisfied with it. However, the response part of the Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) module can be improved. It is not yet in place according to requirements; it is not completely available even though the module has been released."
"In a future release, I suggest that zero-day vulnerabilities should be predicted in advance using AI technologies. The system is not 100% secure yet, so proactive threat hunting could be enhanced to be more proactive than the current system."
"The cloud licensing unit system is unclear, especially since "units" aren't well-defined."
"Anything outside of the software vulnerability management and the CSM, things like the GhostPort, need some improvement. The dashboard is in beta. It looks really good, I wish it would come out of beta."
"Of all the advertised functions, I only find two things that really work in my environment, even though I wanted to use all of them. They're not flexible enough to be used."
"In the CSM module the policies are really hard to work with it. It is not very flexible at all. I would suggest that they change that. Right now, the scan is based on the group that the server is in. What happens if the server is in multiple groups?"
"The reports and graphs are unintuitive."
"Automated fixes are helpful, but sometimes we would prefer more control over how they are applied."
"Sophos should enhance its AI-driven detection features and anomaly detection."
"The setup was a little bit complex."
"Overall, Sophos Cloud Optix is a strong cloud security platform, but there are a few areas where it could improve."
"I find that Sophos Cloud Optix is stable and most of the time reliable, although there is a maintenance window almost every week, with one day dedicated to maintenance. This is somewhat inconvenient as sometimes the platform might misbehave during that time when managing threats and other activities."
"I have not connected with Sophos Cloud Optix customer support yet, but I had a bad experience when our AWS cloud got compromised, leading to many resources being provisioned, and while Sophos Cloud Optix identified those resources, the resulting bill from AWS was quite high due to the usage charges, which I tried to investigate with the Sophos team, though I am not sure if they assisted with the refund."
"While I find Sophos Cloud Optix strong, it could improve by reducing alert noise, as I sometimes get too many notifications without enough prioritization, and more customizable compliance reports would help tailor outputs to specific frameworks, and deeper integration with niche cloud services beyond AWS, Azure, and GCP would also add value."
"The dashboard and the process for applying policies could be more intuitive. Cloud Optix isn't that difficult once you get the hang of it, but the IT folks managing this want it to be more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing for TotalCloud is attractive and competitive in the market. Given the features, especially the dashboard, I have no concerns regarding pricing."
"Qualys TotalCloud is expensive, but it offers a premier solution with no headaches."
"Although Qualys TotalCloud is relatively expensive due to its unique automation features, its cost-effectiveness is rated an eight out of ten, with ten being the most costly."
"TotalCloud's price is about right where I would expect it to be."
"Qualys TotalCloud offers good pricing that is affordable and competitive with the market. Our partnership also provides us with additional benefits."
"Qualys TotalCloud is cost-efficient and was selected for its value compared to other products."
"Qualys TotalCloud offers cost-effective licensing flexibility."
"I am not sure about the pricing. From what I understand, it is a bit on the higher side, but I do not have the exact numbers."
"CloudPassage is a little bit on the expensive side. So my suggestion is that the company lower its price point a wee bit or sell modules, separate them in modules, because I only find two things that are useful to me, yet I pay for four or five modules. It didn't seem like it was a fair deal."
"We also evaluated VMware NSX, but the pricing and features available in a CloudPassage implementation were decisive in deciding to go with CP."
"Regarding the pricing for Sophos Cloud Optix, I would say that it was a very good price."
