We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What I find most valuable in Citrix Hypervisor is its licensing policy, because you'll get it for free if you buy a Citrix XenDesktop license. You don't need to spend additional money on the Citrix Hypervisor because you can manage both the Citrix XenDesktop and the Citrix Hypervisor with just one license, so you can save on cost. I also like that the solution is good support-wise. Hardware support is also faster compared to other solutions.""The solution integrates well with other solutions, which makes it really strong as a primary solution to deploy.""The solution is extremely user friendly.""This is a dependable solution for virtualization with a good community for product support.""Citrix Hypervisor is quick to deploy and easy to manage.""We can easily migrate VMs from one host to another.""The feature I find most valuable, is its performance""The most valuable features are being able to host many virtual machines and being able to patch machines."

"The tool's performance is top-notch.""Active Memory Sharing dynamically reallocates memory of running partitions based on changing workload demands. The memory for the pool is carved out from Physical memory and is made logical memory. The said memory is not available to be assigned to partitions as dedicated memory. A min, max and desired as well as weight is assigned to the memory of each lpar to help hypervisor make a decision in case a condition where priority is to be given to a certain lapr to use the memory form shared pool.""Technical support is great.""It is a stable solution with reliable performance.""What I like about this solution, is that it is easy to configure.""The case fileserver on the web server is the most valuable feature.""It is a complete solution.""The most valuable features in this solution are you do not get degradation in the performance like you could get in other solutions. There is a physical adapter that is better than a virtual one and you can assign adapters to a VM."

Cons
"Live migration is something that can be improved.""The USB support for the virtual server needs improvement.""I would like the possibility of updating the hypervisor by applying security patches.""I am not very sure about how flexible Citrix Hypervisor is with different types of infrastructures. I only know it is flexible with Nutanix, but I am not sure if it is also flexible with others. They can make its integration with other platforms or OEMs easy. They should also make it easy for users to manage their infrastructure. Citrix should make compatibility information related to a hypervisor easily available in a datasheet. Citrix isn't really recognized in this part of the world, and they need to expand their solution and make it more available. There are a lot of customers and companies that are looking for a solution like Citrix, and it should be available in this part of the world. They need to educate people more. Technically, it is good and flexible and has good ability, but it is not as much known as VMware or Microsoft. Their support should also be improved. Currently, if you don't have an updated version, they will not give you the attention.""The self-service user portal needs to be more granular and be more customizable.""The solution needs better backup facilities that are available for virtual machines to create servers on.""The interface has to be updated.""The licensing costs are too high on the solution. They should work to make the costs more reasonable."

More Citrix Hypervisor Cons →

"A GUI version of VIOS would be a great plus for people moving from Intel-based hypervisors.""The hardware licensing model could be improved because the licensing model is a bit different from the standard hardware procured.""The performance should be improved.""This solution is lacking the ability to have servers act as a cluster, such as in VMware. IBM has come out with a feature similar to VMware's vCenter but it is not as mature. They need to add LPM shared-nothing feature, such as in vMotion.""IBM should review the price of this solution in my opinion; it is too high.""SRM for site recovery is a feature that should be included.""As understand it, IBM sells all its hardware to Lenovo, and only PCs servers are managed by IBM. It's uncertain how much longer IBM will continue in this way, especially with the current trend of transitioning from on-premises to cloud and hybrid models. The market is evolving. Given this market shift, it's essential to identify areas for improvement. IBM has introduced the PowerVM Series, including Linux, which is a positive step. However, customers are already moving towards x86 servers due to cost considerations. The cost of PowerVM compared to x86 servers appears to be a significant factor.""Any improvements that can be made in the interface will go a long way to helping us work better."
