Stable with a good database and a good interface
We primarily use the solution to deal with problems in the production environment For us, the database is the most useful feature. The interface is great. We don't find the pricing to be too bad. The initial setup was fairly easy. I'm not sure how to improve the solution. It currently has all of…

Dashboards facilitate prompt alerts but discovery feature needs enhancement
I would recommend Broadcom DX Application Performance Management if a customer doesn't have any existing performance solution. However, ten years ago, the solution was better, and now there are many competitive options. My overall rating would be between six and seven. The product rating I would give is 6.5 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The initial setup was fairly easy."
"I found the solution's end-to-end analysis and flexibility most valuable."
"JVM memory monitoring and connection pool monitoring are valuable features."
"If you have a large web firm or a group of servers, it does a great job of aggregating performance metrics into single viewable graphs or dashboards."
"The incidences raised by end users for application performance-related issues decreased from 1700 per quarter to 250 per quarter."
"We are able to easily and quickly find some of the problems with the applications and coding, and some of the performance problems."
"Helps the development team to fine-tune and proactively manage the application."
"It's provided us with consolidated reports and a monitoring dashboard, and it's helped us greatly that the dashboard allows us to create very customizable views that give us the information we need to determine the overall status of network health."
"The CA Introscope dashboard of applications is the view our operations team uses to quickly identify any issues within the application space especially during peak trading season like Christmas/Easter."

Cons

"There are certain aspects of the configuration that could be simplified a bit."
"User management for these tools is poor and we have found the EEM product to help with this to be quite flaky."
"The support could be better. It is difficult to access the right person, and incidents sometimes need escalation."
"The monitoring stats we get are only 70%-80% reliable; we cannot depend completely on the monitoring view provided."
"On Windows Platform, it’s not great and/or stable (from previous experience)."
"System incident analysis and performance monitoring need improvement."
"Technical support is slow to respond and also asks redundant questions."
"End-to-end visibility of transactions in complex environments is not always satisfactory (for instance, transactions crossing OSB)."
"The interface is getting a little old."
