Consistently supports dynamic learning environments and strengthens educational interactions
Since I've been working with Blackboard Learning Management for an extended period, I've witnessed its evolution and consistent dedication to pedagogy. The platform's ability to deliver exams and content in a technical way is superior to most other platforms. This delivery system allows for establishing checkpoints before progressing to new content, ensuring students understand current material before moving forward. The platform offers various conditions for content progression and exams. Students can take exams multiple times at the instructor's discretion, requiring specific passing scores for content release. Additionally, peer-reviewed paper submissions can be required before accessing new content. If a student struggles with an exam section, the system halts the exam and allows review of the specific content they might not understand. The adaptive release feature is particularly interesting as it customizes the learning environment for individual students, including those with special needs or delivery requirements. The platform checks documents for accessibility, sending alerts for missing alt text in images and can generate automatic alt text. This ensures compliance with universal design laws, similar to U.S. 508 compliance. While specific measurable benefits cannot be specified since this course has always been delivered through Blackboard Learning Management, the course has grown from 12 students to nearly 200 at semester start. The structured delivery enables incorporation of additional teaching assistants due to uniform methodologies. The platform's compatibility for data export to other institutions opens interesting revenue streams through course sharing agreements, which has influenced my consistent choice to work with it.

Unified communication has transformed our collaboration and consistently boosts project delivery
The best features Zoom Workplace Business offers include screen sharing, clear video and audio, online meetings, large-scale events, call management, mobile apps, unified communication platform, and collaboration. The feature I find myself using the most is an AI-powered collaboration platform that is used to streamline communication, increase employee engagement, optimize in-person time, and improve productivity. The screen sharing is very effective and a helpful tool where we are able to screen share with our colleagues and discuss different tasks and project management ideas. Collaboration has become very efficient, and remote working has also become efficient and prevalent in my organization. We have been able to save a lot of time using Zoom Workplace Business. It has been a game-changer. Zoom Workplace Business elevates the experience with Zoom AI Companion included at no additional cost. It is designed to help employees be more productive, collaborate better, enhance their skills, and unlock time savings.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The real-time live interactions have been great."
"It is scalable."
"The solution is easy to use."
"The platform's ability to deliver exams and content in a technical way is superior to most other platforms, allowing for establishing checkpoints before progressing to new content and ensuring students understand current material before moving forward."
"Blackboard enables instructors to collectively gather all the grading data into one place. If students upload content or post it to a Google Doc, I can do my grading and calculate the grades. It is an excellent holding place for all of that data"
"One of the most important features is the possibility of creating unlimited subdomains."
"Blackboard provides a go-to place for students to find out the essential information about a course, and it has been crucial to our operations in a virtual environment since the pandemic began because it provides ease of access and continuity across an institution."
"The modules and courses are flexible."
"The main benefit is that it allows us to easily connect and collaborate, even in areas with less reliable internet."
"I like the filters and background filters that I can incorporate; I find they work better than competitors like Google Meet or Microsoft Teams."
"The ability to share content is a great feature."
"The most valuable features of Zoom are voice and camera clarity. The time latency of the response is good. The facility to view all the participants who are online is a benefit. In most of the other similar solutions, they too have this feature. However, since I have used Zoom, I find it as an advantage because you can see all the participants online and you can choose."
"Zoom has positively impacted my organization because it's essential for communication."
"Zoom is easy to use and does not require much network bandwidth, and additionally it does not require a lot of configuration which is very good."
"You don't need to be technical in order to use it."
"I rate Zoom ten out of ten."

Cons

"The system falls short in terms of managing assessments and exams effectively."
"There was a reason you needed to do updates, including in the middle of semesters; you couldn't even maintain functionality through a 16-week semester."
"Without this application, access to courses using some devices is a little complicated."
"Blackboard has limitations in terms of delivering content and assessing student assignments because it can't handle large file sizes."
"The solution is not flexible."
"It would be ideal to create a more responsive or more intuitive template for access from telephones or tablets."
"The solution must provide better integration with third-party software."
"Blackboard has limitations in terms of delivering content and assessing student assignments because it can't handle large file sizes. It's also limited in its ability to track student activity. Instructors can see the student's most recent login, but they can't follow the activity."
"Maybe taking some steps over reducing bandwidth usage in case of video conference could be good."
"There must be an option to ask permission from the host to record the Zoom meeting."
"Maybe the UI could be improved a bit."
"While Zoom calls are great for talking and chatting, they often lack follow-up on action items and collaboration. Most of the time, it's just talking and listening without much progress. There's a missing piece in these tools. About 90 percent of those calls could be replaced by other tools that focus more on the deliverables that make a real impact rather than just being another wasted meeting. It doesn't improve collaboration."
"The free version of Zoom could be improved and offer more functionality."
"I thought Zoom doesn't have the feature to save chats after meetings, while Teams allows for document sharing, which I know because in my latest company we were sharing documents through Teams; I didn't use that in Zoom."
"The pricing could be improved."
"Zoom definitely has to be more secure, but I can't think of any anything else to change."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product pricing tends to be higher than alternatives."
"At the beginning, you can choose a basic plan. As your users grow you can buy a more expensive license."
"Zoom is free."
"I am making yearly payments. So, I am paying 250 USD a year."
"We are using the free version of Zoom."
"The solution is affordable."
"I use the free version that is available, so I'm not sure what the licensing prices are."
"There are both free and paid versions available."
"The cost of Zoom is approximately $150 USD annually."
"There are no licensing fees required."

If you're looking for just a basic meeting tool, Zoom will do just fine. You can also share your screen as well as choose the option to share presentations ( in your case, its the Digital manual). Cisco Webex is more for making video calls but some use it for training as well due to the fact that it was already used but I have experienced some latency (lag) with it. Anyone in the group viewing may correct me on this one. In terms of popularity, its Zoom and webex which are the most popular tools Blackboard and Adobe connect are more considered the virtual classroom technologies for teaching. They have many advanced features offering multi-classroom features which encourage students to engage differently. They are far less popular than zoom or webex. According to your requirements, I would encourage you to go towards Zoom. You can start by the free version and upgrade to the pro version depending on your requirements Also, it works seamlessly on laptop, IOS and Android devices Hope this helps. Also, note that this was a quick review and we are doing a more comprehensive review based on a per -component basis.
