We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is its reliability and stability. The first version of BizTalk was released in 2000, and many companies still use it. It was stable until 2013 when we had support.""I rate the tool's stability a nine out of ten.""The tool's most valuable feature is its integration with the banks. Its messaging and routing capabilities are good.""BIzTalk's integration with Visual Studio is the most valuable feature of this product.""Compared to the current solutions I use, like Azure Logic Apps and other cloud services, BizTalk was far better and more reliable.""Essentially, you can do whatever you like with these systems, and you do not have to take care about the scaling because if one server is overloaded, it just forwards the message to the next server, even if it were designated to a specific server. It weeds out the messages according to the load. If you want to scale it, you just add new servers.""The most valuable feature of BizTalk Server is that it will turn XML into flexible transactions.""We can handle a large number of messages without any issues, ensuring that everything runs smoothly."

"The most valuable features are the Excel activities. It has a number of Excel activities that are quite reliable.""For automating mundane activities, I can recommend WorkFusion.""If you compare it to its competitors in the market, it is more Java-native.""We have been very pleased with the speed and decisiveness of WorkFusion, which is able to quickly provide a disposition note or escalate to a human for additional review.""We have seen Workfusion improve on accuracy and compliance... With the Workfusion model, we reduce human error and the need for further QC. We switch more to a QA process where we're testing whether the model is effective.""It's a pretty robust product.""The dashboard is the solution's most valuable feature. When clients want to look at the data it's very easy for them to do so. The dashboard for the IT manager is very useful if there are issues and to create and follow processes.""The most valuable features are the recorder because it's user-friendly and the integration with other tools Excel."

Cons
"It's an on-premises system, requiring physical servers for deployment. This is different from Azure; you don't need any servers with Azure. If you have a subscription, you can do whatever you want. There are unit restrictions based on the environment (like non-production vs. production) in BizTalk. You need physical servers and databases. In Azure, those are not required – it's all in the cloud.""BizTalk is in the past, Microsoft is not going to evolve it any further or add any new features.""The product could be improved in monitoring, managing, and support functionalities.""BizTalk lacks native cloud support. BizTalk doesn't offer in-built support for cloud. We need to use third-party adapters to connect it to cloud services.""BizTalk Server is an outdated legacy system that does not support messaging.""The deployment could be simplified.""The product's deployment can be quicker""It's a complex product because you have many degrees of freedom to connect different parts together. Whether it's sensible or not, is up to you, but the machine does allow it. But because of the vast degrees of freedom, it's complex."

More BizTalk Server Cons →

"I would like WorkFusion to improve the automation rate when evaluating unstructured text.""One of the issues that we are facing here in China, is that we cannot access the material for training because it is on YouTube. In China, we do not have access to YouTube.""We are having some database issues, but we are addressing them.""We had some issues in the past, but it is fairly stable now. From what I hear, it is more stable in the later versions. With version 10.1.4, there were some issues relating to load distribution. However, it is good now.""There could be better version control through their web platform. That is something that could be improved on. Integration from the IDE, e.g., from WorkFusion Studio directly into Control Tower, would be nice to have too.""One thing we didn't like was their OCR solution. We felt it's somewhat inefficient.""It is complex for enterprise implementation. The solution needs a needs minimum, of 20-22 servers. It's no small task. This is not a straightforward setup. It's a large undertaking and there are many moving parts.""I would like it if they provided a more detailed roadmap in terms of where they are going with the product. As we are trying to make decisions about the things that we are going to do to try to augment our capabilities, we could know whether they are thinking about the same things or not."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The cost will depend on the client's requirements."
  • "BizTalk Server is cheap. I would rate its pricing a two out of five."
  • "Based on the knowledge, it is relatively cheaper than Azure Identity Services and cloud services in general."
  • "It was not cheap, but it was affordable."
  • "BizTalk Server is not freeware. There's a significant licensing cost involved. Be sure you will actually utilize its features fully."
  • More BizTalk Server Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Find it online."
  • "They have a very expensive license compared to any other automation tool. For instance, at $50,000 - $60,000, you can bring in an Automation Anywhere solution. For this solution, you need at least $250,000 to get something going."
  • "It is not the most expensive solution, but it is also not the cheapest."
  • "I can't speak to pricing. It's a contract signed by upper management."
  • "We are on an annual contract to use the solution."
  • "My client is using RPA Express, which is available for them to use free of charge."
  • "One upgrade took a year to do, from the first server being built to the last bot being migrated. This was because we had to migrate all our existing bots. This is the same process and time frame that we are expecting towards the upcoming upgrade. I will end up spending half a million dollars to do an upgrade."
  • "The solution was not the cheapest, but it was also not the most expensive. Workfusion was very open to negotiating pricing and to working within the objectives of our firm."
