We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is its threat protection and data privacy, including its cyber attack and data protection, as we need to cover and protect data on user devices.""The integration with other Cisco products seemed to be really effective. We had Umbrella in place and we were using AnyConnect as well as Firepower. Once a threat was detected, being able to do the threat lookups and the live tracking was really useful.""The most valuable feature is signature-based malware detection.""The biggest lesson that I have learned from using this product is that there is a lot more malware slipping through my email filters than I expected.""The threat Grid with the ability to observe the sandboxing, analyze, and perform investigations of different malicious files has been great.""Device Trajectory is one of the most valuable features. We're able to dig in and really understand how things came to be and where to focus our efforts.""Among the most valuable features are the exclusions. And on the scalability side, we can integrate well with the SIEM orchestration engine and a number of applications that are proprietary or open source.""appreciate the File Trajectory feature, as it's excellent for an analyst or mobile analyst. I can track everything that happens on our server from my PC or device. Integration with SecureX is a welcome feature because it connects Cisco's integrated security portfolio with our complete infrastructure. Sandboxing is helpful, and integration with the Cisco environment is excellent as we use many of their products, and that's very valuable for us."

"If you detect a virus, you can isolate the PC from the network and prevent access to the internet, network and routers. Once fixed, you can give access back to the client. We have not had this functionality using other solutions.""The setup was easy.""The most valuable features are the solution's thorough detection and ease of use.""Great protection against malware, ransomware, and any other forms of malicious software.""It's a very stable solution.""The solution is probably one of the top five, best security solutions on the market at the moment.""Useful for the day-to-day analysis of the security infrastructure.""With Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra, we don't have to worry about our endpoints or attacks. Our security has become stronger. This has been a reliable solution for our company."

"Offers good protection against ransomware.""The most valuable features of SentinelOne are the lateral movement and the use of the Active Directory.""The best part of the agent is that users can't remove or disable it, so endpoints will be safe. I can control it from the portal. I can see when it's updated and I can push updates from the portal. The greatness of SentinelOne is that our end-users don't see anything to do with the agents. Some of them don't even know it's on their laptops. And that's a good thing.""The customer support for this solution is good.""The reporting part is awesome.""The solution is powerful because we just have to update the agent by using the console, which is simple to do. I just select the endpoints and click "Update" on the console. That is it, because it is very easy to use.""The product can scale.""SentinelOne's managed detection response service Vigilance Respond is convenient for companies like ours with small IT teams. If something happens on the weekend, SentinelOne steps in and resolves the issue. It's a false positive 97% of the time, but at least they're resolved instead of hanging around for us to find on Monday."

Cons
"This product has issues with the number of false positives that it reports.""The Linux agent is a simple offline classic agent, and it doesn't support Secure Boot, which is important to have on a Linux machine. The Linux agent has conflicts with other solutions, including the Exploit Prevention system found in Windows servers. We didn't find a fix during troubleshooting, and Cisco couldn't offer one either. Eventually, we had to shut down the Exploit Prevention system. We didn't like that as we always want a solution that can fit smoothly into the setup without causing problems, especially where security is concerned. The tool also caused CPU spikes on our production machine, and we were seriously considering moving to another product.""We don't have issues. We think that Cisco covers all of the security aspects on the market. They continue to innovate in the right way.""An easier way to do deduplication of machines, or be alerted to the fact that there's more than one instance of a machine, would be useful... That way you could get a more accurate device count, so you're not having an inflated number.""In Orbital, there are tons of prebuilt queries, but there is not a lot of information in lay terms. There isn't enough information to help us with what we're looking for and why we are looking for it with this query. There are probably a dozen queries in there that really focus on what I need to focus on, but they are not always easy to find the first time through.""It could be improved in connection with artificial intelligence and IoT.""They could improve the main dashboard to more clearly show me the things that I want to see. When I open the dashboard right now, I see a million things and they are not always the things that I need.""We had a lot of noise at the beginning, and we had to turn it down based on exclusions, application whitelisting, and excluding unknown benign applications. Cisco should understand the need for continuous updates on the custom Cisco exclusions and the custom applications that come out-of-the-box with the AMP for Endpoints."

More Cisco Secure Endpoint Cons →

"There is a need to work on the deployment, when it comes to deploying to Windows machines with regards to downloading the size of the package.""This solution would be improved if it included antivirus functionality. You currently need to install a plug-in to Outlook for each email to be scanned.""The only problem we have, and I don't know if maybe it's the package we bought, is that it lacks the parts of data protection and application blacklisting.""They need to improve their encryption capabilities.""While the solution is secure, it could have better integration.""For many, the problems come mostly when they start tweaking or short-cutting - particularly for patch management.""Using this product requires quite a bit of training, which is hard to get.""Other solutions are cheaper than GravityZone."

More Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Cons →

"I would like to see a better control panel for the managed service side of it.""We are now using an external monitoring tool to monitor the services of SentinelOne, because apparently they don't have any solution for that. When the SentinelOne agent is down, you can go to the interface and see a mark on SentinelOne that something is not correct or the server needs to be rebooted, but you will not get an alert. You will not be warned that there is an issue with the SentinelOne agent. I have found that a little bit disturbing, because then we need to use a third-party monitoring tool to make sure that all services of SentinelOne are up and running.""As a cloud-based product, there is a minimum number of licenses that need to be purchased, which is unfortunate.""Email security should also integrate with it to get more visibility on it.""It's good on Linux, and Windows is pretty good except that the Windows agents sometimes ask for a lot of resources on the endpoints. That could be in the fine-tuning for scanning. In Mac, they are complaining about the same problems, that it's using a lot of resources, but that could also be that we have to configure what it is scanning and what it should not scan. Currently it scans everything.""Managing the false positives creates additional management overhead. The behavioral analysis engine might misinterpret real user behavior as malware. For example, a drafter was cleaning up a Revit folder and deleting 4,000 files. That looks like ransomware. The SentinelOne agent kicked his computer off the network.""It is an expensive product.""With respect to product patches, it should have the ability to patch directly from SentinelOne, rather than be presented with a list and have to do it separately."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Licensing fees are on a yearly basis and I am happy with the pricing."
  • "We have a license for 3,000 users and if we get up to 3,100 users, it doesn't stop working, but on the next renewal date you're supposed to go in there and add that extra 100 licenses. It's really good that they let you grow and expand and then pay for it. Sometimes, with other products, you overuse a license and they just don't work."
  • "Cisco Secure Endpoint is not too expensive and it's not cheap. It's quite fair."
  • "The price is very fair to the customer."
  • "...the licensing needs to be improved. All the product features we need are there. It's just a matter of the complexity and the different offerings and trying to figure things out."
  • "The pricing and licensing fees are okay."
  • "Because we do see the value of what it's bringing, I think they have priced it well."
  • "The solution is highly affordable; I believe we pay $2 or $3 per endpoint. It's significantly cheaper than the competitors on the market."
  • More Cisco Secure Endpoint Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Price-wise, we have a better licensing agreement with Bitdefender than we did with competing vendors."
  • "Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is less expensive than other solutions, such as CrowdStrike. We had a really good deal because it was their year-end and they were trying to do a lot of sales that week. We bought a three-year contract from them and the cost was approximately $17 per endpoint, per year. It is was a very good price. I have spoken to other people who have purchased CrowdStrike at approximately $60 per endpoint, per year. I have no complaints about the price of this solution."
  • "The solution is not expensive but there are cheaper options in the market. In terms of competitiveness, the price is reasonable with no other additional costs besides the licensing fees."
  • "As I am on a different model, my clients pay me on a monthly basis."
  • "Each endpoint device we purchased came with its own license."
  • "When I first started using this solution I was paying $80 annually. I did not pay any additional fees. There are other solutions that are cheaper on the market."
  • "The pricing is competitive."
  • More Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing is a bit of a pain point. That's where we have not been able to convince all of our customers to use SentinelOne. The pricing is still on the higher side. It's almost double the price, if not more, of a normal antivirus, such as NOD32, Kaspersky, or Symantec."
  • "The solution's price/performance ratio is reasonable."
  • "You have to look at the kinds of problems you can end up with and the fact that you want security against them, and then SentinelOne is not expensive."
  • "It was cheaper than McAfee, which was a way to convince management to go with the solution."
  • "The pricing level for this service and application was very interesting for us. I don't know exactly what the price was, but apparently it was a big surprise that the SOC was also included in our pricing model."
  • "We are on a subscription model by choice. Therefore, we are paying a premium for the flexibility. We would have huge cost savings if we committed to a three-year buy-in. So, it's more expensive than the other solutions that we were looking at, but we have the flexibility of a subscription model. I think the pricing is fair. For example, if we had a three-year tie-in SentinelOne versus Cylance or one of the others, there is not that much difference in pricing. There might be a few euro or dollars here and there, but it's negligible."
  • "SentinelOne is more affordable than some competing products, and it's not overly expensive for what you're getting."
  • "The pricing is very fair for the solution they provide."

    Overview

Cisco Secure Endpoint is a cloud-managed endpoint security solution that provides advanced protection against viruses, malware, and other cyber threats by detecting, preventing, and responding to threats. Cisco Secure Endpoint is managed online via a web-based management console and can be deployed on a variety of platforms. It protects endpoints, networks, emails, and web traffic.

In a world of evolving threats, it’s necessary to put security above everything. Cisco Secure Endpoint provides you with the scope, scale, and capabilities to attain effective security with its integrated portfolio and industry-leading threat intelligence. Cisco Secure Endpoint continuously tracks and analyzes files and file activities across your systems - both remote and on premises - and compares these events to other events that occurred before or during past attacks. If a file exhibits malicious behavior, the tool sends an alert which enables you to stop a potential threat from succeeding.

Key Capabilities of Cisco Secure Endpoint

    • Multi-layered protection: Cisco Secure Endpoint combines behavioral analytics, machine learning, and signature-based techniques to prevent threats from compromising your endpoints.

    • Powerful EDR capabilities: Reduce attack surface using advanced endpoint and extended detection and response, threat hunting, and endpoint isolation.

    • Dynamic malware analysis: Identify and block attacks in real time.

    • Simplified investigations: Advanced search capabilities help you get the information you need about your endpoints fast.

    Reviews from Real Users

Cisco Secure Endpoint stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to enable developers to easily secure their endpoints with one single operation using its management console and its advanced alerting techniques.

Tim C., an IT manager at Van Der Meer Consulting, writes, "The solution makes it possible to see a threat once and block it everywhere across all endpoints and the entire security platform. It has the ability to block right down to the file and application level across all devices based on policies, such as, blacklisting and whitelisting of software and applications. This is good. Its strength is the ability to identify threats very quickly, then lock them and the network down and block the threats across the organization and all devices, which is what you want. You don't want to be spending time working out how to block something. You want to block something very quickly, letting that flow through to all the devices and avoiding the same scenario on different operating systems."

Wouter H., a technical team lead network & security at Missing Piece BV, notes, "Any alert that we get is an actionable alert. Immediately, there is information that we can just click through, see the point in time, what happened, what caused it, and what automatic actions were taken. We can then choose to take any manual actions, if we want, or start our investigation. We're no longer looking at digging into information or wading through hundreds of incidents. There's a list which says where the status is assigned, e.g., under investigation or investigation finished. That is all in the console. It has taken away a lot of the administration, which we would normally be doing, and integrated it into the console for us."

Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is an endpoint security solution that offers protection against even the most elusive cyber threats. The solution provides a full range of security capabilities, including threat detection, pre- and post- compromise visibility, alert triage, automatic response, advanced search, investigation, and more. It is designed with a single agent/single consoler architecture, is cloud-native, and also supports on-premises deployments.

    Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Features

Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra has many valuable key features. Some of the most useful ones include:

    • Extended endpoint detection and response: Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra applies XDR capabilities to detect advanced attacks across multiple endpoints in hybrid infrastructures, including workstations, servers, or containers running various operating systems.
    • Integrated human and endpoint risk analytics: The Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra solution continuously identifies user actions and behaviors that may pose a security risk to your organization, such as using unencrypted web pages for logging into websites, usage of compromised USBs, poor password management, recurrent infections, and more.
    • Layered defense: Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra offers highly effective layered protection to protect against threats by using signatureless technologies like advanced local and cloud machine learning, behavior analysis technologies, and integrated sandbox and device hardening.
    • Low overhead incident investigation and response: Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra allows incident response teams to react fast and stop ongoing attacks via fast alerts, attack timelines, and sandbox outputs.

    Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Benefits

There are many benefits to implementing Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra. Some of the biggest advantages the solution offers include:

    • Next-gen prevention and detection: The solution uses advanced prevention capabilities such as PowerShell Defense, Exploit Defense, and Anomaly Detection to block attacks earlier in the attack chain (at pre-execution) so your security posture remains intact and safe. Once an active threat is detected, automatic response kicks in to block further damage or lateral movements.
    • Cross platform coverage: Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra covers all enterprise endpoints, running Windows, Linux, or Mac in physical, virtualized, or cloud infrastructures, ensuring consistent security across your entire infrastructure.
    • Third-party integration APIs: Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra supports integration with pre-existing security operations tools.

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra solution.

Robert N., CEO at CSToday, says, “We like the dashboard, the console, the reporting. It's very easy to deploy. It has great security with excellent standard policies and is extremely stable.”

PeerSpot user David A., Cybersecurity Analyst & System Engineer at Compucare Systems Inc., mentions, "The best feature for our customers is the ransomware feature. It is very fresh and powerful. Bitdefender also has a feature called Ransomware Vaccine. With this feature, when a file from the ransomware is encrypted Bitdefender can revert it back to the original file. It automatically decrypts the file and puts the ransom in quarantine."

Troy F., Managing Director at TEPSA (Pty) Ltd., comments, “The valuable features are, of course, the protection against malware, ransomware, and any other forms of malicious software, but the solution also provides application and device control which stops people copying things onto a memory stick, for example. In addition, it provides web filtering and blocking of inappropriate websites. The product covers pretty much every aspect of cyber security, but the primary function that everybody gets it for is the anti malware or antivirus protection.”
