Centralized control effectively manages devices while updates require powered-on systems
I use Bitdefender GravityZone EDR for the grooming industry. It is primarily utilized for the office environment The features I find most effective for threat detection include centralized control policy distribution and the control of independent devices, such as printers, laptops, and desktops…

Provides effective real-time threat detection with potential for cost optimization
Some features such as device control, firewall management, and file analysis are standalone products that we need to purchase separately. If these features came out of the box within the product, it would be much more beneficial for us. Other providers such as SentinelOne include these features in their base product. We attended a CrowdStrike Falcon event where they discussed some shallow AI features, but we cannot see these in our panel yet. We work with different solutions such as Darktrace and SocRadar, where AI features are automatically displayed in our dashboards after release. However, for CrowdStrike Falcon, we cannot see these features.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"You can analyze any incident or malicious behavior. You can take action from within the EDR, and it can assist you in understanding how the attack was initiated or any malicious behavior in your environment."
"The most valuable feature of Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is the ETX and ETM endpoint protection."
"I haven't had a problem with its stability yet. Since we deployed it, we haven't had one computer instance where we had to reimage the computer due to the virus."
"The initial setup is easy."
"It has the ability to remotely control user PCs and execute specific commands to ensure their security. However, this capability could also pose some concerns."
"The cloud management is easy and useful, especially in our case when we have multiple offices in different locations."
"Sandbox Analyzer, HyperDetect, and EDR are valuable to our customers."
"I like the risk assessment tool built into Bitdefender GravityZone EDR because I'm really into risk assessments and vulnerability testing."
"The threat intelligence is the most valuable feature."
"CrowdStrike Falcon has done an excellent job at detecting breaches. It has allowed us to stay in business and keep our systems up."
"CrowdStrike Falcon is effortless to use, and it's a cloud-specific platform. You only need to deploy the light agents on the licensed endpoints, and you're ready to work. Your dashboards will tell you the number of the endpoints being protected and the incidents. There are also incident dashboards with alerts that will tell you about the details."
"It's really good because it can detect anything."
"As long as the machine is connected to the Internet, and CrowdStrike is running, then it will be on and we will have visibility; no VPNing in or making some type of network connection. CrowdStrike always there and running in the background; for us, that is big. We wanted something that could give us data as long as the machines connected to the Internet and be almost invisible to the employees."
"It provides very good protection and the ability to crosscheck environments."
"The most beneficial part is the active response capability of the product."
"One of the most valuable features of CrowdStrike Falcon is when there are upgrades there are no additional fees."

Cons

"The stability must be improved."
"The only problem we have, and I don't know if maybe it's the package we bought, is that it lacks the parts of data protection and application blacklisting."
"They were working on the encryption management for laptops, and if they complete it then it would be helpful."
"The main area for improvement is the dashboard of the cloud console, where we manage security policies and groupings. It needs to be more flexible and informative."
"In terms of improvement of the solution, it could have better features. For example, having a firewall within. This way we would only need one solution."
"While the solution is secure, it could have better integration."
"Occasionally websites are unnecessarily blocked due to monitoring software on those sites."
"The one thing I'd say about their complete MDR product is that it's too expensive, which is why I prefer to use an alternative SOC and integrate Bitdefender to a different SOC on their own."
"Forensic controls have room for improvement."
"The solution needs to have integration with on-premises security devices and security facilities. That means all the security products, including the perimeter firewall, the DMZ."
"The dashboard does not have the facility to export the reports in a PDF format, which I can quickly share with internal stakeholders."
"In the six months that I have been using CrowdStrike, it has not been able to detect anything."
"CrowdStrike Falcon could improve the logs by making them free to the API."
"The new interface, the UI, seems a bit messy."
"Falcon could be improved with more function on the mobile end of things and better optimization with mobile devices."
"Threat prevention should be their first priority, and false positive reductions are needed."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It has a suitable price for every company and organization."
"The product has a reasonable price."
"Each endpoint device we purchased came with its own license."
"I have very good pricing for the solution, which is one of the reasons why I am not switching to other products. I rate the tool's pricing a two out of ten."
"Licensing is done on a yearly basis and it's workstation-based."
"The solution is affordable."
"There are different packages available that vary in terms of licensing fees."
"The solution is not expensive but there are cheaper options in the market. In terms of competitiveness, the price is reasonable with no other additional costs besides the licensing fees."
"The pricing of CrowdStrike Falcon is competitive."
"I'm not directly involved in sales, so I can't comment on the exact price, but I know the price decreases the higher the quantity we purchase."
"In my opinion, the pricing of CrowdStrike Falcon seems aggressive."
"The other administrator and I can log in to check the exact details of what happened, what was running, and what caused the detection. We know exactly what was happening on the end users PC and we can tell if it's something that we actually need or something that's malicious."
"We are on an annual subscription for the solution. There are not any additional costs."
"The solution's pricing is great for us."
"Pricing and licensing seem to be in line with what they offer. We are a smaller organization, so pricing is important. Obviously, we would make a business case if it is something we really needed or felt that we needed. So, the pricing is in line with what we are getting from a product standpoint."
"The licensing model is straightforward. We choose the features we want and we then can download the package we want."
