Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What I like about Azure DNS is that it doesn't have any issues and integrates quickly with other products. It has good integration, which is incredible. I also like that whenever you deploy private links and endpoints, Azure DNS gives you the option to select the Azure native DNS, private DNS, or go with the Azure custom DNS. It depends, but if you don't have any dependencies on the DNS, then, like many customers, you won't have DNS issues. Azure DNS is a very good solution that helps you with domains and other resources.""If you're running your enterprise application on Azure, it's convenient to use Azure DNS. It has native integration with other Azure solutions, and Microsoft is a globally recognized DNS provider. You also get CDN services. If you're a media company that requires on-demand data streaming, your DNS plays a vital role by working with CDN services to publish your application. It's cheaper and easier to expand your solution.""The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a stable product.""From a security perspective, Microsoft is much better than other cloud providers.""The most valuable feature of the solution is the simplicity of putting DBs.""The most valuable feature is the ease of installation.""It is a scalable solution.""It is a very stable solution."

"DNS aliases, which we use extensively in our applications are a valuable feature.""BlueCat Integrity provides us with flexibility and visibility that we did not have before.""The solution is scalable in multiple ways.""Adaptive DNS's best feature is DDoS protection, which stops malware and network security attacks.""This inherent stability, derived from its Linux-based architecture, provides a well-established and reliable platform.""One of the key features enabling us to operate at our current scale is robust automation.""The solution includes automatic management of segments.""The most valuable features are scalability and cloud infrastructure."

Cons
"The security features and stability needs to be bettered.""Azure DNS does provide enhanced support for applications and includes several security features to protect against threats. One of the security features it offers is the ability to detect and prevent dangling DNS records, which can be used in cyber attacks. Dangling DNS records occur when a website owner creates a domain name but forgets to remove the CNAME record, leaving the domain vulnerable to takeover by malicious actors. Azure DNS includes security measures to identify and prevent such threats, helping to keep your DNS infrastructure secure. However, if Microsoft could add more security capabilities to the DNS, that would be great to detect and identify anomalies that are happening to prevent cyber threats.""The solution should provide better pricing.""There are some latency issues that could be improved.""The solution’s pricing could be improved.""The product must provide information on which DNS or application is consuming the most budget.""The DNSSEC feature is not yet available on the DNS server so it needs to be added.""The licensing cost should be improved."

"The technical support is slow and has room for improvement.""The DNS and DHCP servers for guests are separated from the main organization. A lot of times, it doesn't allow you to choose a default IP space. When I log in to the GUI, it doesn't default to where I want it to be. So far, I haven't been able to find out how to change or specify that so that it defaults to a particular space, such as the main org. If I'm looking for the IP space for guests, I need to toggle and go to the guest site. Most of the time, I want the IP space for the org to be my main space, but it doesn't give me the ability to do that, or I haven't been able to find that over the last two years.""However, it does not offer robust support for high availability failover with different subnets, especially if the servers are located in different data centers and belong to distinct IP networks.""The solution does not export reports in a comprehensive format.""The UI is outdated and needs a modern refresh.""Usability needs to be better.""One complaint about the interface is BlueCat's handling of subzones.""The ease of use is where I got to give a little knock on them. Once you start using the tool, it becomes very easy. It's actually quite easy to use. The problem that I run into is documentation. The documentation could be a little bit richer. Documentation has always been a little pet peeve for me with them."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution payment model is based on how many users use it. This is not an expensive solution, but it can depend on how long we use it. However, if the price was decreased it would be helpful."
  • "We have an enterprise license agreement with Microsoft. Their pricing is competitive. I would rate it a three and a half out of five."
  • "The solution itself is free but you need to pay for the Microsoft Azure infrastructure and host your domains in Azure to use it."
  • "The solution's price is reasonable."
  • "The price is low and it's a reasonable price for that product."
  • "Azure DNS is a cheap solution, and I rate it a two out of ten for pricing."
  • "We use the tool's free version."
  • "To use Azure DNS, I need to buy the license meant for Windows Server."
  • More Azure DNS Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Adaptive DNS's price depends on your network ranges, the services you want, and the level of support you require."
  • "Overall, it's a decent price for the product. There are other vendors that have support models and costs that are, sometimes, double what Bluecat charges."
  • "They're competitive. The way they run their model is good. Could it stand some tweaking? Sure. There are some items there. One of the things I looked at in the recent past was their container solutions. You have to pay for licensing to use their containerized platform, but the licensing doesn't include the container licensing itself. I'd love to be able to have one big package per se."
  • "Compared to other solutions, BlueCat Integrity offers a competitive price."
  • "BlueCat Integrity meets our expectations and aligns with our budget forecast."
  • "Overall, I would say that it is priced fairly, though perhaps a bit on the high side."
  • "We paid around $5,000 per year for SolarWinds, and now we pay around $20,000 per year for BlueCat, but we have less downtime and fewer issues with DNS and DHCP."
  • "While BlueCat falls on the expensive side, its exceptional customer service and consistent quality justify the cost."
