We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The night processing helps to have data just-in-time for the morning.""The functionality is great, the scripting language is very powerful. They can adapt to most use cases. Very good community of different companies and a user base so when we have problems we can go to other people.""The most valuable features are that a lot systems are supported. You can use this for z/OS, Windows, Unix, SAP, etc.""Integration with most of the platforms that we have within the company's Windows, Linux, and Unix. Integrating these inside the automation agent for scheduling, backups, file transfer, and SAP jobs.""We use it with automation, getting more speed to solve business processes.""Both the stability and the scalability of Automic Workload Automation are great.""We use it to automate our business.""The solution helped us fix issues and optimize them. We now run with zero errors."

"Technical support is good.""BMC support is great. They usually can answer any of our questions in a short amount of time and solve our most complex issues.""With BMC, we even configured applications, like IE or things that were Java-related. When we scheduled the jobs, it worked fine. It saved us time and there was no need for resources to monitor them.""It gives us more speed to deliver services and applications, and we rely on security.""It makes deployment easier and allows us to put restrictions on the server using role-based authorization.""The most valuable feature is its ability to remediate quickly and efficiently across a number of IT assets at the same time. It takes away manual efforts from the team to go out and fix those vulnerabilities through patching, conflict updates, etc.""The product's valuable feature is its ability to conduct patching for multiple servers simultaneously.""The most important feature is the schedulings."

Cons
"The only thing that we would like improved is the FTP agent. It only supports SOCKS proxy, and we would like it to also support an HTTP proxy.""I am heading up the AWI. I desperately miss the possibility to show my read-only users on the Explorer side only their folders, not all the folders.""The manage file transfer area could be better. The file transfer area needs improvement. Other products like Control-M have some good features in this area.""There are some monitoring features that could be added.""Some of the usual features, like calendar details, are now not there.""It is a bit of a problem, because they like to do email ping-pong via their web page. Sometimes, it would be much easier if someone would call you on the phone.""We would like some advantages, which we had with the Java UI, with the automation engine.""For the user interface of version 12.1, I cannot find a lot of utilities and objects from previous versions, making me change my habits. This is not good."

More Automic Workload Automation Cons →

"Without any knowledge of the product, we used the KB articles to start working. As a result, we definitely did not have full knowledge of BMC BladeLogic... They need to provide a minimum of knowledge with training on YouTube or somewhere else.""The number of APIs available within the tool needs improvement. At the moment, we have a couple of different scanning tools used within the organization, but only one of those is integrated back into Server Automation. There is another tool that they use in another part of the business where it doesn't have an out-of-the-box adaptor for it. We would have to go and create or develop something bespoke to be able to integrate it with that scanning tool. Whereas, with the other scanning tool, there was an API available. To make it easier, I would like to have more APIs available for different scanning tools within that line of business.""Needs more use cases into compliance management and the remediation process.""We encountered some reporting issues. Also, we needed to gather information from the backend before the product execution. The output's format is not good.""Scaling the environment during setup at larger organizations with 10,000 employees gets complicated.""I would like to see more container integration in the next release of this solution.""There is no option to see all the servers we patch and we cannot find what the server status is. Of course, we can what has been completed and what is pending and which servers have failed, but we cannot find server status from the BMC tool. For example, is the RDP up or not. We are using separate scripts for that.""A better CLI Database cleanup tool would help us with our regular maintenance of BladeLogic Server Automation."
