Offers good time navigation features and we haven't had stability problems in the twelve years we've been using it
The initial setup was supposed to be complex, and a guy from Atempto went to our site and they did it with us together. So, in the end, it was quite clear and straightforward. The deployment took one day. From time to time, we require maintenance. Most things can be done also automatically. We prefer to do some manually like recycling virtual cartridges. Two people are required for maintenance. Two people use it daily. Time Navigator runs daily, for some backups, even more, three, four times a day, for critical stuff. But for intervention, we have two, three per week.

Robust data protection has safeguarded mailboxes and disaster recovery for our clients
NAKIVO Backup & Replication has released many updates lately and at this point it works excellently. Needs will always appear, particularly around the AI topic and other things that come out over time. I understand that solutions always have to keep moving forward, but so far I see it as excellent.I give it a nine because nothing is perfect. There are always solutions, and NAKIVO Backup & Replication is a tool that adapts perfectly to certain needs. However, we cannot dismiss that there are powerful solutions on the market that have been around for much longer. I rate it a nine because we can always improve.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If you need anything, it's written in, and if you have problems, a development engineer is quite fast to fix it."
"The time navigation is the most valuable feature."
"It is easy to set up using the included virtual appliance and also includes agents for most NAS systems."
"NAKIVO gives us the security to retain valuable data backups and recover them in case of emergency."
"All in all, a very good company to deal with; I would highly recommend their backup products, as they work extremely well, and the whole product is valuable in every sense of the word."
"The cost aspect and the ease of licensing, along with simplified licensing, are most valuable."
"We were looking for a product that is easy and simple to use, this product perfectly fit and ended up becoming a mainstay in our portfolio of products that we can't live without."
"The user interface is good, and it's user-friendly, and I also like its usability with hyper-convergence products like Nutanix and others in the data infrastructure."
"We have been able to set up a failover site that has replicas of our critical VMs, updated every hour with only changed data, and the speed of the backup is excellent, allowing replicas to be updated without affecting production workloads."
"After we calculated the fact that it was easy to install, easy to manage, etc., Nakivo still was the best option with a reasonable license price and renewal price year over year."

Cons

"They are working on the improvement we're looking for. The web GUI is flash-based and in around one or two months, they will put everything on HTML5."
"Sometimes, for some VMs and some Windows Server versions, specifically old versions (aka server 12 or older) fail due to the VSS writer error or locking file system."
"I would like to have the option of creating a subfolder per job in the backup repository because we had an issue where some files were corrupted and we lost the backup of the majority of the VMs."
"It would be helpful to be able to have a custom footprint so that only the required features are installed."
"It would be a good thing to have some use case and architecture examples online to understand integration in complex infrastructure."
"We would like to back up File Shares to Amazon S3/Wasabi."
"From our experience, the main factor that could be improved is adding more cloud services that are supported as a backup repository."
"We are satisfied with Nakivo, but if anything could be improved, I think it would be more real-time as opposed to email support availability."
"It would be great if the product could be expanded to support other virtual technologies, like KVM or oVirt."

"The product is quite cheap compared to other products on the market, but despite this, it is rich in features both at the level of backup and recovery as well as at the level of additional options."
"It's really cheap, and our company saves a significant amount of money on IT backup solutions per year."
"The prices are high."
"From the perspective of Indian users, the cost is a little bit high."
