Enhanced data quality with machine learning support in diverse environments
We used Ataccama ONE to read data from the mainframe for a data quality perspective. There's a significant lack in that area with tools being able to interface with mainframe. MetLife has a diverse environment, including DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, legacy, and vSAN files. Being able to work in these various environments and put them to a single data quality tool was very appealing. Additionally, Ataccama supported AI and machine learning, which was one of the features I liked. Furthermore, we were able to interface bidirectionally with Collibra for data governance, catching data quality issues before propagating through the system.

Improved data quality significantly enhances project efficiency and effectiveness
I am not utilizing the data quality rules management part yet. We had a bad experience before Informatica Cloud Data Quality. We started a data analytics project that took more than three months of wasted time because we couldn't use the data to create the optimization model. If we have an application like Informatica Cloud Data Quality or a data quality platform, we can finish the project in less than three months. This is the on-prem data that we ingested. We don't use any cloud data that we have. For now, we are just using the on-prem data, and we don't have any integration from the data outside of the on-prem. I would recommend it to other users. On a scale of 1-10, I rate this solution a 9.

Has consistently provided impressive data handling capabilities and robust security features
Some of the most valuable features of SAP Data Services include data extraction where SAP is the best in that perspective, but when it comes to analytics or the reporting tool, I prefer to connect with Microsoft Power BI, which is a fantastic tool. Typically, from an end-user perspective, SAP has a huge amount of data, in terms of terabytes of data, but when you analyze that, the best form of visualization is always through Microsoft Power BI. SAP Data Services provides a best-in-class return on investment, as SAP's vision and forecast are absolutely amazing. They are ahead of technology, building an ecosystem that meets the standards of the fast-changing digital economy. SAP is indeed good at all this now, with so many components such as SAP Signavio, SAP EINS, SAP Work Zone, SAP ALM, Cloud ALM, SAP public cloud, SAP private cloud, and BTP, all of which are essential to meet the latest cutting-edge technologies.

Pros

"The drag-and-drop feature is incredibly flexible and straightforward."
"The notable aspect lies in the workflow structure, where building the workflow aligns significantly with data governance."
"The product’s important feature is data profiling and quality check."
"The ease of use of the user console is valuable."
"Customer service was excellent, and I would give it a ten out of ten."
"The desktop version of the solution was particularly valuable to me, primarily for creating components. We opted for the data quality aspect to assess the quality of our data warehouse. The functionalities available allowed us to not only check data quality but also serve as an ETL tool. This versatility enabled data transformation and storage in various formats, including files on platforms like SharePoint or local online directories. The flexibility of the tool catered to the specific needs of those building components, contributing to our desired outcomes."
"It is also easy to deploy."
"The data profile itself is excellent. You can understand the quality of the data in layman's terms."
"We primarily used Cloud Data Profiling to connect with Cloud Data Governance, a tool also used by Teva. This integration allowed users to access data quality results within the data governance catalog."
"The out-of-the-box features and standard profiling options provide quick visibility of the data within minutes, which facilitates discussions with the business."
"The quality of the data improves with Informatica Cloud Data Quality."
"An advantage is its seamless integration with other Informatica capabilities, making data quality a deeply embedded part of the solution."
"I would definitely recommend Informatica Data Quality to others."
"Server maintenance, server hosting, backup, restoration, and DB capabilities are not needed in the cloud."
"The reusability factors are nice. The Cloud Data Quality is much better. A major flaw in the previous version was integration with the catalog, which is now seamless."
"Informatica Cloud Data Quality was most valuable for our real-time data quality monitoring needs."
"The logic is also simple. It makes it easy to build your extraction."
"The API tool in this product is very valuable; it is very easy to onboard and use."
"I appreciate having access to the SAP data."
"The fact that it's built on SQL, it makes it easy to write code. The database and the connection are quite smooth."
"SAP Data Services provides a best-in-class return on investment, as SAP's vision and forecast are absolutely amazing."
"Data Services' table comparison mechanism is very powerful. It's pretty hard to find a similar feature in other solutions."
"The basic functionality is quite good as is the basic logic and data information."
"I have worked with Data Services for a long time, and currently, I find the dashboarding and reporting part to be the most valuable function."

Cons

"Speaking specifically about the version we use, version 12.3, I'm unsure if this has been addressed in subsequent versions. One improvement I'd like to see pertains to the language used in certain components, especially in data quality checks. The language complexity posed a challenge for beginners. Although we had on-site assistance from Ataccama, making it manageable for us, some individuals found it difficult to comprehend, necessitating additional support. The provision of a comprehensive guide for on-premise installation can also be enhanced. The lack of detailed information on the solution's workings and the overwhelming nature of notifications, with extensive content, were areas of concern. Streamlining the notification content in newer versions would significantly expedite issue resolution."
"I believe it would be beneficial if it could enhance its flexibility to connect with a wider range of downstream systems beyond just Excel and Postgres."
"There is a notable challenge in having to provide detailed filters before the site recognizes the search criteria."
"Although DQA can fetch data from most of the commonly used data sources, it has limited modifiers to get data, meaning that the number of technologies from which the data can be acquired is limited. For example, DQA does not support fetching data from Twitter or Facebook. Many competitors have this feature."
"They could focus more on marketing the product. The current marketing strategy is not working."
"It is complicated to fetch 20-25 reports when we profile the data."
"The interfacing to tools such as Collibra was somewhat cumbersome and required more thought."
"Data movement is a pain."
"Some capabilities from the cloud version are not included in the on-premises version."
"I definitely will not recommend Informatica Cloud Data Quality because it's very hard to manage the licensing model and the price is very high."
"You cannot import the data discovery rules you create in the solution to the Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC)."
"If a new solution has the same features and less investment, it would be worth considering."
"The downside of Informatica Cloud Data Quality is that it requires a developer to write rules and maintain the systems. This creates a significant cost and time burden."
"Improving the UI to be more business user-friendly would also be beneficial."
"Support response time could be better."
"In the on-premises version, features like web service consumer and web service provider are available, but these functionalities are currently unavailable in the cloud edition."
"It will work fine only in an SAP environment. It could be said that the integration with other vendors could be better."
"In the future, Data Services should offer a cloud version."
"Source code control is another headache. When your source code base gets too large, managing the source code becomes cumbersome."
"Address validation in SAP Data Services is chargeable and should be made free."
"At the integration level, there could be certain set of improvement to connect to various other systems."
"Scheduling of jobs in the sequence is not available. It's a very tedious process to do that particular task. If there was a tool to schedule in the sequence that would be extremely helpful."
"Regarding the pricing for SAP Data Services, I think it's on the higher side. Now, they are coming up with many pricing options, which is tricky; they offer one thing for free, but charge for nine others."
"The pricing of the solution should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our licensing model wasn't user-specific; instead, we paid fees for the engine and maintenance. As we didn't have a support contract, maintenance fees were likely nonexistent. Regarding the upgrade, we had an account for the initial two or three years, and considering the features provided by the solution, the pricing was reasonable."
"The product is reasonably priced."
"There is no need to buy a license. You can just download it and use it for free."
"Despite not being extremely low-cost, the pricing appears reasonable, making it a profitable and viable choice for companies that prioritize data security and adhere to specific policies."
"The licensing costs attached to the solution are pretty high, but then, with the cloud model, the prices depend on what it provides for the value of money, which I feel was very high."
"We pay for a yearly subscription."
"Informatica Cloud Data Quality is a costly solution."
"I rate the product price as one or two on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price."
"The product’s on-premise version is expensive for a medium-sized company."
"Pricing is good, there is no problem."
"The pricing is a little high to make the product more competetive in the marketplace."
"It's relatively expensive compared to other vendors, but it is competitive."
"Speaking about prices, Oracle and SAP are market leaders. So, the prices are more."
"The license price is expensive but medium to large-scale companies, should be able to afford it. Other solutions, such as Talend are easier to afford for smaller companies. Depending on the sources of the data where you are receiving your data you could be paying for more than one license."
"There is a one time purchase fee plus annual maintenance."
