Enables automated threat intelligence sorting and enhances proactive threat hunting capabilities
You have to have at least a threat intelligence background or a SOC analyst background to use it, as that's the information you'll dig around with in there. If you don't have that kind of knowledge, it probably can be a little hard to use, but they do provide training. They offer training not only for how to use the platform but also some basic threat intelligence training to explain what these things are and what these terms mean. My company is a customer of Anomali. I would recommend it to other people. I would advise making sure you don't pick it without testing other products and have your use cases well thought out and documented before testing, so you know it will solve the problems you're trying to address. Keep an open mind with it and realize that whatever you can dream of, you can probably do with the platform. Overall, I would rate Anomali an eight out of ten.

Playbook complexity challenges integration but customization enables professional operation
We work with Splunk SOAR from a security perspective, focusing on User Behavior Analytics (UBA) and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) The customization of the playbook in Splunk SOAR is very beneficial. After building the playbook, it operates professionally. There is an AI…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We now have a very robust collection of threat intelligence based on the capabilities that Anomali provides."
"The feature I have found most valuable is credential monitoring. This feature is easy and quick."
"I have found Cyber threat intelligence (CTI) very useful and concise. The solution is easy to use."
"The most valuable aspect of Anomali is the threat modeling capability."
"Very flexible integration with other tools"
"The ability to automate Splunk SOAR and customize the playbook use cases is the most valuable feature and is very exciting for me."
"The most valuable feature of Splunk SOAR that stands out is it has a great SOAR. The automation and orchestration module is highly mature. A lot of use cases are on user entity and behavioral analytics (UEBA), which is artificial intelligence and machine learning-based (AIML)."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its searchability and ease of action on the logs. I can easily search within the logs and take action on them, and I can trace them back to my environment because the way the logs are written is very helpful for us."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is the playbook automation just because it allows us to reduce the manual actions that SOC has to handle."
"I'm just a beginner on the solution and it's pretty easy for me to use."
"Its ability to integrate with other systems and applications in our environment is pretty easy. Sometimes if we see any complexity we try to involve a consultant to help us. Everything is through the built-in app. Splunk can connect to any assets through the built-in app. It could be in a platform, firewalls, or endpoints. It's easy if it's an app integration."
"Before its use, analyzing each email would take at least 15 to 20 minutes, with some complex cases taking up to 30 minutes...With the automation provided by Splunk Phantom, we could significantly reduce the amount of time and human effort required to complete this task."

Cons

"A lot of tools can give you many features, such as CTI intelligence and a tax service reduction. However, many people are combining different tools together to have more capabilities. It is up to the consumer whether they want to have multiple tools or have one tool that serves the purpose. Anomali Enterprise could improve by combining all the other tools' features into one solution."
"Less code in integration would be nice when building blocks."
"An area for improvement is the intelligence sharing within the Anomali community. The tagging system can be inconsistent, as any company can use any tags for their reporting."
"Support in the past has been top-notch, but recent trends indicate that it has taken a back seat, as we often don't get answers for days."
"The pricing could be a bit more reasonable. It would be great if it were feasible for smaller organizations."
"It could be easier to implement."
"We've had trouble implementing the solution with Microsoft products. There seems to be an integration gap."
"The number of playbooks on offer should be increased."
"And most of the challenges that I have faced with the solution can be found in the documentation itself."
"The solution must provide more AIOps to improve predictability."
"In the beginning, we couldn't find any specific documents for every function. It wasn't easy to navigate to what we needed."
"We want to see improvements made to the APIs such that we can connect to many different systems and data sources."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When comparing the price of Anomali Enterprise to other solutions it is in the medium to high range. However, I am satisfied with the price."
"I don't know the exact price, but for my region, it is very expensive."
"Splunk SOAR is more expensive compared to other options for SOAR."
"Splunk SOAR is an expensive solution for an organization of our size."
"We renewed it this year. This year was the first time there was a dramatic increase in the price. It was kind of non-negotiable. It was just a high increase. We had internal communications, and it was definitely a surprise to us. In a short time frame, we renewed it this year. Prices are going up everywhere, but they are not always justifiable, at least not to our eyes. The pricing this year was definitely a big shock."
"When we first purchased our Splunk SOAR license, it was based on an event-count model. It was based on the number of events. I had strong opinions at the time that automation should not be stifled by the amount of automation you can accomplish, so the previous structure was not as beneficial for us. Later that year, we got told or saw at a conference that they announced user-based pricing. We are now in a renewal period, so we migrated to a user-based license model, which is more appropriate for us so that we no longer have to worry about stifling our automation based on the quantity."
"The tool is not cheap."
"I found the price of Splunk SOAR to be good."
"Splunk SOAR is moderately priced, neither cheap nor overly expensive."
