Provides all the frameworks and makes it easy to create environments for multiple projects
The best thing is that it provides all the frameworks and makes it easy to create environments for multiple projects using Anaconda. It is easy for a beginner to learn to use Anaconda. Comparatively, it is easier than using virtual environments or other environments because of the Conda environment. However, there are many things in Anaconda that people need to be aware of, so it can be challenging.

Facilitates seamless data aggregation with some outdated visual elements hindering user appeal
Real-time data integration is an area for improvement. Although I've worked on several solutions involving real-time integration, it's not very user-friendly and often lags, especially with over a million data rows. This makes Power BI difficult to manage as loading times can reach one or two minutes, which is problematic today. There are challenges with scalability, requiring multiple pages in dashboards to manage these issues. Visualization could be improved as it appears outdated. Users, especially newcomers, find it unappealing and not user-friendly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool's most valuable feature is its cloud-based nature, allowing accessibility from anywhere. Additionally, using Jupyter Notebook makes it easy to handle bugs and errors."
"The documentation is excellent and the solution has a very large and active community that supports it."
"I can use Anaconda for non-heavy tasks."
"The solution is stable."
"The product is responsive, sleek and has a beautiful interface that is pleasant to use. It helps users to easily share code."
"The most advantageous feature is the logic building."
"The notebook feature is an improvement over RStudio."
"It helped us find find the optimal area for where our warehouse should be located."
"Its visualization capabilities are pretty good. It is very easy to use. You can easily make your dashboard."
"What's most valuable in this tool is that it gives its users detailed error messages. It's a very stable data analytics tool, and it offers good scalability."
"I liked that Microsoft Power BI handles a large amount of data. I can handle hundreds of rows from Postgres in a few minutes. I also like how it detects the relationship between the tables without explicitly saying that. It just detects the relationship automatically. That made it easier to work with the data."
"The ROI is high for small teams or basic use cases with limited datasets."
"The tool's most valuable features are slicer and Microsoft Copilot integration. It also allows users to see reports on mobile devices. The solution can also integrate with various data sources."
"There is a feature in Microsoft BI that allows JSON data to SQL on the dashboards effectively and quickly."
"The DAX coding language is good for creating formulae."
"Many of my customers already use Microsoft products like Office 365, so I often propose Microsoft Power BI because it integrates well with all the standard Microsoft business tools. And it's the quickest tool to implement and start using daily."

Cons

"It crashes once in a while. In case of a reboot or something unexpected, the unseen code part will get diminished, and it relatively takes longer than other applications when a reboot is happening. They can improve in these areas. They can also bring some database software. They have software for analytics and virtualization. However, they don't have any software for the database."
"I think better documentation or a step-by-step guide for installation would help, especially for on-premise users."
"When you install Anaconda for the first time, it's really difficult to update it."
"The solution would benefit from offering more automation."
"Anaconda consumes a significant amount of processing memory when working on it."
"It also takes up a lot of space."
"A lot of people and companies are investing in creating automated data cleaning and processing environments. Anaconda is a bit behind in that area."
"The ability to schedule scripts for the building and monitoring of jobs would be an advantage for this platform."
"The challenge of this product is in truncating the table data."
"Microsoft Power BI was born native on the cloud, however, it's quite difficult when it has to connect to on-premise data sources."
"There are some other visuals that are available in the Microsoft marketplace, however, you need to use them via trial and error. There needs to be a write-up about how to use them with a quick guide describing the visual."
"Microsoft BI comes under pressure when there is a lot of data to be crunched. It gets slower and slower, and the functionality becomes a bit of a problem. The performance goes down with data being fed into the system. The infrastructure requirement also increases if you have to increase the performance. This is the area that can be improved in my opinion. Initially, the product is good, but over the years, when data gets accumulated, it becomes a problem unless the old data is kind of archived and is no longer shown on the visualization. It has a feature by using which a user can query for a report through simple questions to a bot. So, if I want to look for the customer share of revenue by geography, I just simply state that in the chatbot. If I wanted it in a pie chart, then you say, "Please show it to me in a pie chart." It comes out well for basic charts. This feature should be improvised more so that people can very quickly get customized reports on the go."
"The visualization aspect, while being the most visible to business users, also happens the be the weakest point in the entire Microsoft BI stack."
"I'm missing collaborations functionality to operate or to work connected with multiple people on a data source or on virtualization. There should be more collaborations functions, such as in Confluence. We haven't explored the solution sufficiently in this area, but at this time it doesn't look sufficient."
"Microsoft Power BI can be confusing, because it has two languages that you need to learn if you want to use it, and this makes it more difficult for nontechnical users."
"Maybe they can enhance the UI a bit. Right now, it's very basic, I would say, compared to the MicroStrategy or Qlik."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing costs for Anaconda are reasonable."
"Anaconda is free to use, but in terms of hardware costs, you might need heavy GPUs to run CUDA and other demanding tasks."
"My company uses the free version of the tool. There is also a paid version of the tool available."
"The product is open-source and free to use."
"The tool is open-source."
"Power BI's price is reasonable, especially if you can put it in some bigger package and use it with other products. The value of a solution doesn't just come from its features as a standalone product. The price should also reflect how easy it's to set up, clean data, and integrate with other solutions."
"As far as I am aware you do not need a license for the solution."
"No comment on pricing."
"Price is the best feature of Power BI! You get a lot of value for the price. If you know how to use it, it's a great BI solution for your money."
"Pricing, that's where Microsoft beats Tableau. It is priced much cheaper."
"Microsoft Power BI has reasonable pricing."
"Microsoft BI requires licenses."
"Microsoft BI is very cost-effective and this is why we use it."
