Available to users at a very low price but needs improvement in the firewall area
The product is very easy to install. When it comes to OmniSwitch 6200, OmniSwitch 6300, or OmniSwitch 6600, you can install it in an hour and a half quickly without any problem implementing the configuration, but it's not stable. When it comes to OmniSwitch 6400, OmniSwitch 6800, or OmniSwitch 9700, mostly the tools are limited in terms of the protocol. The switch cannot be managed to manage the power of our ethernet. For example, if we connect an iPhone to the switch, 740 watts will be required, but after six months, someone will discover that the port doesn't work anymore. Even if we configure it to push the power of a port, it will not work. It's not really, it's not, it's not work. At the same time, the problem was that the tool was very old, like Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise PABX system. In Alcatel, there are only two types of architecture, the old and new ones. For example, on the outside, if there is a need for 24 ports to be implemented on telephony, then we implement less than that number to connect to the end of the phone, which is a very serious problem that is not resolved by the product.

Has supported robust enterprise deployments and management while pricing and market reach for advanced features need attention
I'm not sure what improvements could be made on the configuration scale since I'm not involved in complete configuration. Currently, it works effectively and they are incorporating AI adoption. Commercially and financially, the pricing is too high. Customers feel that Cisco Enterprise Routers will not offer the most competitive prices. If they can work on pricing, it would be easier for customers who are considering local products. In India, the government has implemented the Make in India initiative, and Cisco has established a manufacturing unit there. Regarding security products, they need to improve market reach, marketing, and training. While Cisco Enterprise Routers are user-friendly for network and wireless platforms, security product configuration and integration are considered complex compared to FortiGate, Check Point, Sophos, and Palo Alto. They have introduced solutions such as Cloud Defense Orchestrator and Firewall Manager (FMC), but the reach of Cisco security products in India needs improvement.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution's support is very great."
"The routing platform is good."
"Solution is stable."
"Its routers are versatile, reliable, and capable."
"Something I like about the solution is all the options it offers and ways it can be configured."
"It's a sound solution, so it's very easy to solve problems without a support contract, as mainly the problems we have related to the equipment can be solved by doing a Google search."
"I haven't assessed it in that way, they provided us with excellent service. We had very few issues."
"The valuable feature is CLI."
"These routers are stable and I don't know of any problems with them."

Cons

"The tool's VPN Firewall Brick did not work well since it doesn't have an interface with the cloud to upload the last signature, so it doesn't have this mechanism."
"They take too much time to reboot or restart. Whenever we hard reset them, they take time. Cisco should resolve this issue."
"We would like to see an improvement in the price of this solution. It is currently more expensive than other comparable products on the market."
"The security could improve for Cisco Enterprise Routers. I understand there's a security appliance that is separate, but in terms of the router, there can be improvements made to prevent unwanted users from accessing the router or trying to manipulate the traffic that is passing through it."
"Recently, there seems to be a lot of people who are leaning towards Juniper CLI, which is easier to pick up."
"The pricing of the solution needs improvement."
"Sometimes, I find it hard to learn how some features of the router work. So, these are the issues that may arise when a user might not have knowledge about the product."
"There needs to be an integration with SD-WAN for the solution."
"While scalability is available, it must be paid for."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's price is very low."
"Our issues are basically currency related. The licensing is in dollars and the dollar is steadily rising. We've had an increase in the licensing fee due to the simple reason that the exchange rate is almost over 40%. That creates a major issue. If the currency devaluation doesn't stabilize, we may have to look at another solution."
"For a boost performance license, the cost is $2,000 to $2,500. There is an additional cost for more scalability."
"It's not probably the best solution if you have a very limited budget, as it can become very expensive to have robust equipment."
"Cisco Enterprise Routers are not the cheapest routers on the market, they are expensive."
"There is no licensing cost."
"I would rate the solution's pricing a nine out of ten and it is yearly."
"The licensing fee is okay and matches industry standards, which is the benchmark."
"Cisco policy is to limit the features and performance through their license."
