Available to users at a very low price but needs improvement in the firewall area
The product is very easy to install. When it comes to OmniSwitch 6200, OmniSwitch 6300, or OmniSwitch 6600, you can install it in an hour and a half quickly without any problem implementing the configuration, but it's not stable. When it comes to OmniSwitch 6400, OmniSwitch 6800, or OmniSwitch 9700, mostly the tools are limited in terms of the protocol. The switch cannot be managed to manage the power of our ethernet. For example, if we connect an iPhone to the switch, 740 watts will be required, but after six months, someone will discover that the port doesn't work anymore. Even if we configure it to push the power of a port, it will not work. It's not really, it's not, it's not work. At the same time, the problem was that the tool was very old, like Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise PABX system. In Alcatel, there are only two types of architecture, the old and new ones. For example, on the outside, if there is a need for 24 ports to be implemented on telephony, then we implement less than that number to connect to the end of the phone, which is a very serious problem that is not resolved by the product.

Has supported robust enterprise deployments and management while pricing and market reach for advanced features need attention
I'm not sure what improvements could be made on the configuration scale since I'm not involved in complete configuration. Currently, it works effectively and they are incorporating AI adoption. Commercially and financially, the pricing is too high. Customers feel that Cisco Enterprise Routers will not offer the most competitive prices. If they can work on pricing, it would be easier for customers who are considering local products. In India, the government has implemented the Make in India initiative, and Cisco has established a manufacturing unit there. Regarding security products, they need to improve market reach, marketing, and training. While Cisco Enterprise Routers are user-friendly for network and wireless platforms, security product configuration and integration are considered complex compared to FortiGate, Check Point, Sophos, and Palo Alto. They have introduced solutions such as Cloud Defense Orchestrator and Firewall Manager (FMC), but the reach of Cisco security products in India needs improvement.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution's support is very great."
"An excellent and robust solution for delineating services over a common transport, through the use of IP/MPLS."
"If you want the top or best solution, then you have to choose Cisco."
"The most valuable feature is the command prompt, which is very user-friendly."
"The solution is easily scalable."
"Cisco's technical support is very good."
"Once you plug it in, you can basically forget about it because there are never any issues."
"The VPN is the most valuable feature of this solution. The basic clients who don't use the VPN use it mostly for connectivity."
"The best features of Cisco Enterprise Routers are not just about the feature itself, but it's about the Cisco services and support."
"Cisco Enterprise Routers are the best."

Cons

"The tool's VPN Firewall Brick did not work well since it doesn't have an interface with the cloud to upload the last signature, so it doesn't have this mechanism."
"More refinement of network group encryption (NGE)."
"The cost of this solution is a little bit high compared to others."
"An area of improvement would be the way the licenses are managed because, at the moment, you pay for a license for each router as opposed to paying a once-off cost."
"While the hardware is good, it doesn't offer very easy scalability and lacks decent automation capabilities."
"The license of Cisco Enterprise Routers is too expensive compared to other solutions. As we try to increase the bandwidth, it gets even more expensive."
"We would like to see the security improved."
"The product's pricing is an area that is too fuzzy to deal with, in my opinion, making it an area where improvements are required."
"It would be better if Cisco had a User Interface (UI) that we could configure from a web browser. Right now, we only have a Graphical User Interface (GUI). I would like to see a new UI with a dashboard for configuration in the next release."
"The solution needs to offer some security features in a future release."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's price is very low."
"The cost of this solution is very low compared to other products."
"Normally, we pay for the licenses upfront. I think it's mostly just a perpetual, once-off license."
"Cisco routers are an expensive product."
"I would rate the solution's pricing a nine out of ten and it is yearly."
"The solution is costly for small businesses."
"Cisco is way too expensive for small and medium businesses. They must lower their prices in the lower range equipment."
"The licensing cost is quite reasonable."
"Our issues are basically currency related. The licensing is in dollars and the dollar is steadily rising. We've had an increase in the licensing fee due to the simple reason that the exchange rate is almost over 40%. That creates a major issue. If the currency devaluation doesn't stabilize, we may have to look at another solution."
