The most powerful features are the database and integration with CMDB.

The incident management feature is good because it allows you to keep track of and classify issues.

The Preventive Maintenance feature, especially in its inspection routines and KPI abilities, is valuable.

I do not know about the price of the solution. However, this has been an expensive project overall.
IBM keeps its pricing confidential. The old list of pricing on all versions below Version 8 is extremely expensive. However, an IBM resource or Business Partner can route a request for special pricing and justify a good opportunity to get approved for a competitive rate. The new MAS - Maximo Application Suite (v8) will follow a different pricing model and is being positioned as an improvement on licensing structure compared to its predecessor.  Implementation and support services for Maximo depends on: *Complexity of the implementation - a measure of difficulty for a tailor-fit implementation of Maximo based on an improved version of the client's business processes. This also covers all integration requirements for third-party systems such as ERP, DCS, CO, etc. *Project Timeline and Activities - estimated duration and the activities for the project delivery.
