Reliable, useful for remote work, and great but isn't as robust as Microsoft Teams
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is stable and scalable."
  • "Microsoft Teams, as I see it now, is more useful than Skype for Business."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is primarily used for communication, file transfer, and everything around our work.

How has it helped my organization?

While I used the solution recently, I now have another job. I work for another firm and they use Microsoft Teams.

What is most valuable?

It was handy for when you were working from home.

The solution is stable and scalable.

What needs improvement?

Microsoft Teams, as I see it now, is more useful than Skype for Business. It's more integrated and it's the next step for us. We'd like Skype for Business to be better integrated with Microsoft.

For how long have I used the solution?

While last year I used Skype for Business and in the team I'm now on, everything is on Microsoft Teams.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability was good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is quite good. We are quite happy with its ability to expand.

There are 5,000 or 6,000 users. Everyone uses it. We were all working from home and we had to communicate, and, therefore, we used Skype for Business.

How are customer service and support?

I can't speak to the technical support. I only used this as a user and I have no complaints about it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've been using Skype for Business as well as Microsoft Teams.

We also used WebEx.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward and it didn't cost me much time to learn, to understand how Skype for Business can work with something else, for example, SAP.

What about the implementation team?

I set up the solution in-house.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution does require a license. I'm not sure if it's monthly or yearly.

It was another department that was responsible for licensing. I was responsible for the software implementation.

What other advice do I have?

I'd rate the solution a six out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Easy setup and an a la carte pricing model
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution works well with third-party integrations."
  • "The solution needs a more modern interface."

What is our primary use case?

Our team produces white-glove events. Our producers and event specialists use the solution for private events, meetings, and some public events.

What is most valuable?

The solution works well with third-party integrations.

What needs improvement?

The solution needs a more modern interface. One of our biggest complaints is that we don't have the ability to dynamically push our interface to participants. Adobe Connect is an older technology, but it allows us to push our own layout and design to participants.

One of the solution's strengths is that it's web-only but that is also a weakness. It is not a software solution but is browser-based which has its advantages and disadvantages.

Zoom has become such a force that its ease of use surpasses ON24.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for over five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Overall, the solution is very stable and we've only had a couple of issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is very scalable. I rate it a nine out of ten for scalability.

How are customer service and support?

I rate technical support an eight out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Our team uses multiple platforms for events including this solution, Zoom, Webex, GlobalMeet, LoopUp, and BlueJeans. We use various tools for different purposes.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is pretty straightforward. Only one specialist is needed for deployment and maintenance.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing model is a la carte and depends on the size and scope of the event for which it is used. I rate licensing costs an eight out of ten.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

For each event we produce, we conduct a thorough evaluation of all platforms to determine which one provides the best benefits.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Reliable, seamlessly runs virtual meetings and is easy to set up
Pros and Cons
  • "It works, it's reliable."
  • "Sometimes we'll run into issues where firewall rules aren't set correctly and won't work."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for meetings. For example, we don't use it for webinars.

What is most valuable?

We have found the initial setup to be simple.

It works, it's reliable.

They seem to have improved the solution over the last year to help resolves some firewall issues.

Overall, the solution is useful for running virtual meetings seamlessly.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes we'll run into issues where firewall rules aren't set correctly and won't work. However, that hasn't happened probably in the last year or so. It seems like GoToMeeting changed something that made it better. They're maybe using a different port or some different access. However, something changed to make it better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for around five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We only really use it for particular products. We don't have a set amount of users that leverage the product.

We likely won't increase or decrease usage. We'll continue with the status quo for now.

How are customer service and support?

We've never directly dealt with technical support. I cannot speak to how helpful or responsive they are when you need help.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We do a lot of virtual meetings and we use Microsoft Teams predominantly.

Other companies we deal with happen to be on the WebEx, GoToMeeting, or TeamViewer platforms, which is why we sometimes use them.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is really straightforward. It's not overly complex or difficult.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We just use the basic version of the product.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I don't directly deal with the licensing or pricing aspects of the product.

What other advice do I have?

We are just a customer and an end-user. We don't have any business relationship with the company.

I'd rate the product nine out of ten.

A platform to connect with other people

What is our primary use case?

We use Zoom daily to connect with other people like our vendors and business partners.

What is most valuable?

Zoom is a very light application. It uses the network and has many features like the ability to record meetings, you can chat, and collaborate. The video conversation is very clear.

What needs improvement?

Platforms always require improvements. Zoom could be more flexible for individuals that do not have the economic capacity.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Zoom is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Zoom can be scalable.

How was the initial setup?

Zoom is very easy to setup, it is just a few clicks to make it run and work on the solution.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend others use Zoom it is a good platform.

I would rate it a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud
