What is our primary use case?
Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is primarily used for fast troubleshooting and identifying root problems across the entire network. It has decreased the quantity of tickets that customers can open in the NOC department because Marvis allows quick searching and provides recommendations to administrators on how to resolve issues. Customers often do not have enough time to open tickets because administrators resolve problems before they are reported.
Juniper Mist also offers Marvis Minis, which is a cloud microservice that continuously checks network quality from the customer's point of view. When changes are made to the network, Marvis Minis verifies whether these changes decrease service quality by checking different stages of how customers connect to the network, obtain IP addresses, and resolve DNS names to IP addresses. This verification occurs every hour, providing analytics and statistics to predict potential network issues. Marvis uses AI technology, allowing administrators to ask questions about the network, customers, services, and applications to obtain any information about the network quickly and efficiently.
Marvis Virtual Network Assistant and Marvis Minis continuously check the network and network elements, providing a complete view of the entire network. When problems occur, they send messages to administrators or display information on the graphical user interface that shows exactly where the problem is located. For example, Marvis can identify a bad cable connection on a specific port on a specific switch.
What is most valuable?
Marvis Virtual Network Assistant has functions to automatically resolve some issues, though not all, particularly when the network uses only Juniper equipment. For example, if a new Wi-Fi access point is added and a new wireless network is created but administrators forget to add a VLAN on the Juniper switch, Marvis can automatically add this VLAN on the switch side.
Every network device sends telemetry information to the cloud, and Marvis as an AI assistant uses big data about all statistics from all devices, applications, and customer sessions. This capability allows Marvis to find root cause problems.
What needs improvement?
Marvis Virtual Network Assistant has resolved all problems that network administrators face, making it challenging to identify areas for improvement. Marvis provides good analytics, recommendations, and problem resolutions.
One potential enhancement would be to add different languages for different countries because Marvis currently uses only English. For example, since I live in Ukraine, it would be beneficial to communicate with Marvis in Ukrainian because not all administrators know English.

I have worked with this technology for approximately three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
During the three years I have used this solution, I have not experienced any issues with the cloud solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is very scalable because it allows support for thousands of devices in the network.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support team answers very quickly when I communicate with them. They help resolve problems with devices or cloud microservices very rapidly and provide sufficient information to resolve any issue.
How was the initial setup?
Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is not used for the initial installation process. Since Marvis Virtual Network Assistant operates on a subscription basis, adding a subscription to the organization is all that is required. No additional configuration or tasks are needed.
What was our ROI?
I believe the pricing of Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is reasonable because it allows for a decrease in the quantity of network administrators needed and reduces operational costs. Additionally, it increases the quality of network operation. When network issues occur, Marvis allows for very quick identification, resulting in a short network downtime period. Without Marvis, administrators would need to check each device step by step to find problems, potentially resulting in much longer network downtime. Marvis saves money for the company.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Not all customers use Marvis Virtual Network Assistant because it represents an additional cost as a subscription service. Mist Cloud is a microservices platform, and to use it, customers must purchase subscriptions for one, two, three, or five services. Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is one of these services. Sometimes, to decrease the overall cost of the solution, customers do not purchase a subscription for Marvis Virtual Network Assistant because it is not a mandatory function but rather an optional feature.
What other advice do I have?
I have received feedback links for previous feedback submissions. I have provided feedback about SRX and wireless assurance. For any Juniper solution or Juniper devices, I have experience, though not as extensive with SRX and EX switches compared to other products. Root routers such as MX series are also supported, as are access points. I do not have sufficient experience with Juniper Session Smart Router. I have worked with these routers and am familiar with them. My overall review rating for Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is eight out of ten.
