PROS

Cloudera Data Platform offers strong security and governance features that simplify user permission and access control management.
The scalability and processing power with Spark and distributed data storage allow for handling massive data volumes effectively.
Cloudera Data Platform reduces operational overhead by providing a unified control plane for managing workloads across on-premise and cloud environments.
It enables easy integration with other tools and supports a multi-source system by handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data types.
Cloudera Data Platform provides cost-saving benefits and a robust capability to handle diverse data types, offering solutions like PDF extraction and speech-to-text conversion for analytics.

CONS

Deleting services requires extensive cleanup, and Hive performance enhancement could challenge traditional databases.
Security, workload management, and support for containers like Docker and OpenShift need improvement.
The cost is high, and feasibility issues with cloud integration remain, particularly with Azure, GCP, and AWS.
Complexities arise during initial setup and configuration management, leading to frequent downtime and reliability concerns.
Cloudera Data Platform lags behind open-source Apache implementations and must improve data migration from on-premises to cloud.

The Hortonworks solution is so stable. It is working as a production system, without any error, without any downtime. If I have downtime, it is mostly caused by the hardware of the computers.

Now, using this solution, it is much cheaper to have all of the data available for searching, not in real-time, but whenever there is a pending request.
