Reliable and issue-free with a helpful onboarding wizard
The solution has been installed on Linux machines.  The solution is issue-free. We are happy with it.  The solution has been stable and reliable.  It is scalable.  My understanding the setup is pretty straightforward and that the onboarding wizard is pretty easy to follow.  I've never had to…

Enhanced data retention and recovery with robust backup features
The Oracle Agent and Oracle RAC support are valuable features; they are crucial for taking backups and cloning applications. NetBackup Appliance has many features. Backup Exec is a great product as well. NetBackup is well-developed with strong features, including deduplication technology, which allows us to retain backups for longer periods—exceeding our expectations by keeping backups for almost a month. It's effective for data recovery and capable of handling large-scale data recoveries. It is very stable and keeps applications secure. However, the AI integration is not yet tested.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Veeam has a "next, next, finish" installer, and the overall deployment is straightforward. The deployment is easy because Veeam is compatible with all our VMware services and VMs. Veeam Backup and Veeam ONE are integrated into vCenter or vSphere site deployments, so we don't need to deploy each server one by one."
"The ease of use for the graphical interface and the ease of installation are the most valuable features of this solution."
"The really amazing feature about Veeam Agent is that when you're using the central deployment model, you can actually use the instant VM recovery feature, which is really a pain point that I find some days."
"It is scalable."
"What I find most valuable about this solution, is that the user experience is very simple."
"The initial setup and deployment are easy. It's straightforward."
"The technical support is good."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its integration with Veeam Backup & Replication console."
"The customer service and support are excellent."
"The Oracle Agent and Oracle RAC support are valuable features; they are crucial for taking backups and cloning applications."
"The most valuable feature of Veritas NetBackup Appliance is duplication and covers many applications."
"I have no stability issues to report...The initial setup is quite simple."
"It has a lot of very good features. The virtual tape library (VTL) feature is most valuable. Overall, it is easy to use."
"The reporting is very good compared to other tools."
"We have good data backup coverage."
"The documentation is okay. You are able to follow it and it is helpful."

Cons

"I would like to be able to install Veeam directly to Linux instead of having to go through a Windows server."
"It could use deduplication features."
"They could be more customer-friendly."
"It would be much better if more applications were supported on the Linux side. For example, their agent for Windows not only can back up the Windows machine, but it can also back up Active Directory for granular restore, SQL servers, Exchange, Oracle, SharePoint, etc. When it comes to Linux, only Oracle databases are supported. There are workarounds, though."
"There isn't much to improve. They just need to follow the trend or the development of other Linux products. Follow in terms of making the product compatible with new versions of Linux. They just need to include as many versions for Linux as possible."
"One problem in Veeam Agent for Linux is that you can't use your license for all your machines because you don't have a virtual machine, so if you're going to add machines and scale, you'd need to pay extra."
"The price of Veeam Agent for Linux could be reduced."
"Scalability, if you are talking about Linux, is good. However, if you need to backup more types of solutions or Unix systems, like HP/UX, AIX, etc., it's not compatible."
"The reporting feature can be improved."
"Feature-wise, it is quite good, but it is very costly. Its price has gone up quite significantly over the years, and that makes people like us look at alternatives."
"Sometimes, the user interface doesn't work smoothly."
"They could simplify the process of installing, and provide more space for data during the process."
"In terms of implementing the solution, it's quite technical. You need to be knowledgable in order to pull off a successful deployment."
"The challenge arose due to a space issue. The issue was related to disk breaks, especially when power cuts occurred. One of the disks would break, leading to a loss of functionality."
"It would be a better solution if we were able to make more reports in regards to the backup system."
"It's difficult to make a switch with the tool because the actual physical storage doesn't work with anything else."
