We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"With Document Understanding, tasks that would normally take eight hours manually can be completed in three to five hours. It still requires some human intervention, but 90 percent of the processing can be automated.""For me, the most valuable aspects of UiPath Document Understanding are its time efficiency and minimal human intervention.""AI Center is helpful for creating data sets. Machine learning helps with some extraction. The ML extractor gives good results after training.""I found UiPath Document Understanding helpful in automating different types of processes. One process can be split into multiple processes or sub-processes. You can also use it for ID management or extracting data from IDs, such as passports or government-issued IDs, which I like.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...The solution's technical support is good.""The best feature is pre-labeling, as it eliminates the need to manually label each data point.""The highly visual and user-friendly interface was a standout feature.""The most valuable feature in UiPath Document Understanding is the identification of the fields column in the PDF documents."

"The solution is stable, we have not had any glitches or problems.""We need to analyze documents in order to understand them. We don't need to dedicate much time to this because WorkFusion's machine learning capabilities are very good. We can easily extract information and classify these documents. The document processing engine is very important to our organization because it is the center for many use cases, as we need to control the information contained in documents.""The Control Tower enables us to create and use workflows. It helps us run processes. There are a lot of small features, but the Control Tower is a very good feature, wherein we can create bots and schedule them as well as create different instances of them to run in different regions.""The cognitive features of this solution are good.""WorkFusion's RPA Express's ability to scale across multiple geographies with limited impact on additional IT Hardware requirements. This has enabled the scaling of Robotics capabilities and solutions across all our entities.""The document processing engine is good. We're extracting around 70 data points from a given document, and we have an automated extraction rate of 80 percent for those fields.""In terms of stability, it's quite good. It's an internal IP product.""In our opinion this group are the leaders in providing RPA solutions."

Cons
"Document Understanding would be improved with more AI platforms.""The licensing model poses a significant challenge due to the fee charged for posting a model, which impedes the development of productivity-enhancing models.""I would like to see more integration of artificial intelligence. That's being implemented, but it would be a massive improvement to the solution's document processing. If UiPath achieves intelligent document processing, it will be far better than anything on the market. There are currently some limitations with the fields that could be addressed using a GPT engine. With an integrated AI model, you wouldn't need to create your taxonomy. You would only need to provide some prompts, such as "What is the property name?" It will store that as a variable.""It would be much easier if UiPath increased the count of pages. Currently, they are allowing one million pages for $10,000 per month. I would prefer to increase the page count or reduce the dollar count in terms of processing the documents. I would prefer $6,000 per month for processing 2 to 3 million pages per month. It will then be much easier for companies with a low budget to use this product.""The solution must localize the built-in features for supporting Arabic scripts so we do not rely on third-party tools.""Currently, we have to train multiple templates because the column size and row size change in each PDF.""UiPath could improve its analytics and interface.""UiPath Document Understanding's ability to handle diverse document formats, including scans and signatures, needs improvement."

"We have had some problems in the past with the Inspector tool that looks at the elements on the screen. Replacing it or improving it is needed.""The product needs to be "simple and easy" to use. A good example of this is the use of Python code to perform automations. It is free and the skills transfer is able to happen quickly and the operation and initiation of the completed automation is easy to execute.""If we're talking from a developer perspective, the task of actually building automation is not ideal. That's not their strong side.""One of the issues that we are facing here in China, is that we cannot access the material for training because it is on YouTube. In China, we do not have access to YouTube.""One thing we didn't like was their OCR solution. We felt it's somewhat inefficient.""We have executed our robots thousands of times in our enterprise environment. However, in an enterprise environment, WorkFusion has performance problems. It is slow in production.""The solution is not user-friendly, this is something they should improve.""Where it can be improved is the speed. I built two bots, one with WorkFusion and the same thing with Python. My feeling was that the speed at which Python did things, how fast it did them, was quite cool. It was faster."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Document Understanding's price is quite high."
  • "For the licensing part, in our company, we initially started off with a monthly plan, but yearly plans are also there. Cost-wise, UiPath Document Understanding is good since it provides flexibility in its pricing."
  • "On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution a nine."
  • "The pricing is reasonable."
  • "It's expensive, but you can reduce the price per license by getting more licenses. Overall, the pricing is okay."
  • "We received a 60-day free trial before having to purchase a license to continue using UiPath Document Understanding."
  • "On a scale of one to ten with ten being the most expensive, I rate UiPath Document Understanding an eight on cost."
  • "Our clients are concerned about the volume-based pricing model, as UiPath charges more than other vendors in the market."

  • "Find it online."
  • "They have a very expensive license compared to any other automation tool. For instance, at $50,000 - $60,000, you can bring in an Automation Anywhere solution. For this solution, you need at least $250,000 to get something going."
  • "It is not the most expensive solution, but it is also not the cheapest."
  • "I can't speak to pricing. It's a contract signed by upper management."
  • "We are on an annual contract to use the solution."
  • "My client is using RPA Express, which is available for them to use free of charge."
  • "One upgrade took a year to do, from the first server being built to the last bot being migrated. This was because we had to migrate all our existing bots. This is the same process and time frame that we are expecting towards the upcoming upgrade. I will end up spending half a million dollars to do an upgrade."
  • "The solution was not the cheapest, but it was also not the most expensive. Workfusion was very open to negotiating pricing and to working within the objectives of our firm."
