Achieve efficient automation in document processing with advanced data extraction features
When discussing Amazon Textract, the handwritten OCR quality is good. I'm working with multiple OCR solutions for handwritten data, and Amazon Textract is much better than other solutions. Amazon Textract is superior because it has features that allow you to use analytics or intelligent automation with the OCR. It will automatically identify key and value pairs, so you can use the data easily. For instance, if a PDF mentions a name, Amazon Textract can identify the key and value, translating that data automatically. Implementing Amazon Textract decreases manual effort in document processing tasks. For example, if any data entry is done by one employee, using the OCR will automatically decrease the man-hours required. Amazon Textract helps in compliance and auditing efforts because if I have a 100-page report that needs summarizing, I first need to extract data from it and input it into Excel. This data copy-pasting can be a challenging task for a human, but OCR simplifies it, enabling calculations to be implemented much faster and more efficiently.

Pre-trained models work well, but it is very expensive
We have to do manual validation for some of the things due to the OCR engine not being so accurate. For example, S is read as 5, 5 as S, 2 as Z, and Z as 2. In the case of currency, if one dot is missing, it gives a completely incorrect number. These discrepancies should be fixed because if the OCR itself doesn't work properly, then AI doesn't help with that. When AI is used for training models, the AI Center works precisely, but if the data itself is wrong, we can't do anything. If the extraction of data is proper, it definitely helps. However, 20% errors could be reduced if the OCR engine were better. In future updates, I would like to see better handling of issues such as when a dot is missing in currency, for example, with dollars, it should handle that automatically. It's very expensive. If the volume increases, we can't afford to use Document Understanding. We are thinking of moving to another solution because we are expecting 80,000 to 100,000 invoices.

"The entity-level extraction is very good. The workflow is also very good."
"It's helped us free up time for other staff projects."
"I like UiPath's machine-learning capabilities. My first impressions were good, but we only use it in a few processes. We intend to expand our use of these features in other situations, but we're still learning how to use the AI functions. We use the OCR much more."
"The highly visual and user-friendly interface was a standout feature."
"UiPath Document Understanding produces a high accuracy rate of 98 percent."
"Document classification is very good."
"The solution removes manual processes and reduces human dependency. It takes a lot of effort to go through each physical mail or email, extract the data and transfer it to Excel. However, the solution automates the process and works 24/7. The tool gives a complete package to process and understand documents. The valuable features include taxonomy modification, classification, workstation, etc. There are out-of-the-box features like ML models which you can custom build. We have saved time with UiPath Document Understanding. We have seen a 50 percent improvement in scanning processes. Compared to humans, the tool runs 24/7. The human error rate has also been reduced. Our human error rate is five percent now compared to the previous 15 percent. UiPath Document Understanding has also freed up our staff who now spend more time on critical tasks."
"The most valuable feature of UiPath Document Understanding is the AI Center."
