Delivers reliable email security with minimal maintenance and valuable threat intelligence
If you had asked me a few weeks ago, I would have said the user interface needed improvement, but we've just updated it. It looks really modern now, and it's a lot easier to use. At the moment, I don't have anything specific for improvement. Additionally, I would suggest different roles for users. We want the ability to lock down certain functions for certain user roles to prevent accidental changes, such as an apprentice accidentally deleting a customer.

A stable and scalable solution to deal with spam and phishing emails
It is difficult for me to talk about areas that require improvement in the solution since I am quite new to the product, but I know that Vade provides an MSP solution. Vade Cloud Email Security doesn't provide sandboxing functionality. The lack of sandboxing functionality cannot be considered a weakness since there are other solutions to deal with faster when it comes to sandboxing. Overall it is a good solution with which we work in our company, so I don't see any clear weaknesses in the solution. It can take a long time for customers to study and operate straight away in a sandbox environment. The solution is okay if it makes the job faster for its users. I don't see ISO 27001 in Vade Cloud Email Security. While functioning on the solution, sometimes a customer needs to have a conformity level of SOC 1 or SOC 2 or some other conformity level. I did not see the aforementioned conformity levels added to Vade Cloud Email Security. Concerning a bank, data can be confidential, and when a bank needs to exchange or transfer such data, it has to be specific to a certain level of conformity, which I did not see in the tool.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The mail scanning is most valuable. They've been very good. We've used other ones, and everything else seems to be substandard than this. The other thing that I found helpful with SpamTitan was the ability to import rules from other appliances."
"The spam filtering is the most valuable part. When we first started using it, 15 years ago, there weren't many solutions that worked well, were user-friendly, and powerful."
"The way we can customize filters is excellent. Other solutions tend to be restrictive with their specific profiles, but with SpamTitan, we can create them from scratch."
"It is a very easy product to use. There is one interface that services all our clients' health. Once learning the interface, we don't have to learn another one for each client. It is the same interface, which is valuable. Therefore, we find the single interface the most valuable since I have a very small team. I don't have one or two people dedicated to just SpamTitan. We all need to learn the interface and be fluent in it. So, having a unified single interface is a big deal for us. I don't have to teach my people five different interfaces in order to be managing a product. They use one interface for all our clients. It is a single pane of glass, which is huge for us."
"It filters some of the spam."
"The solution keeps a copy of inbound and outbound messages for a period, which is a handy feature. It makes it easier to determine precisely what is happening with an email, where it came from, why it isn't routing correctly, why it is or isn't being flagged etc. If an end user forwards us a problematic email, the header information can be lost, making it harder to figure out what's happening."
"Its simplicity is most valuable. It does what we ask it to do. The filters work, and we are able to set the levels and give the clients or end-user access to the quarantine through a simple email."
"Another good feature, related to geo-blocking, is the ability to specify exemptions. We discovered that some of our customers, even though they are located in Canada, have an Exchange Server sitting in Japan or in the Netherlands. It seems they have branches or their head office in other countries. Having this exception feature is helpful."
"The most valuable features of the solution are how the product works against phishing and provides centralization, allowing users to recognize phishing emails."

Cons

"The interface looks a little dated and could be modernized."
"A lot of the other companies that I deal with have a feature that allows you to modify emails and apply signatures automatically based on linking into Azure's servers and database. That feature isn't there in SpamTitan."
"The documentation for how to configure it could be better. Sometimes, it was confusing. When we were onboarding with them, the documentation was a little bit vague on how to configure the DNS server and our email server."
"The interface is a little outdated. The menus are simplistic and visually, it's pretty old."
"SpamTitan doesn't allow you to customize the frequency of reports. Sometimes our users complain that they cannot control how often SpamTitan's report comes. Users get a daily report, but some would prefer a notification every time an email is quarantined."
"It would be nice if the reporting feature could be updated. Also, the feel of the web interface is a little dated."
"I would like to see a filter for searching inside the message content when it is quarantined."
"The inter mailbox email flow needs improvement. If you are in the same domain, it does not have the capability to transfer one email to the same domain through SpamTitan. They need an API for Office 365 which is currently being developed"
"Vade Cloud Email Security doesn't provide sandboxing functionality...when a bank needs to exchange or transfer such data, it has to be specific to a certain level of conformity, which I did not see in the tool."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When it comes to the scalability of it, it really doesn't matter much because of the way that it is priced. You can put it on somebody who is small or big."
"I pay $650 per year for 50 licenses."
"The approximate cost is around $7000 USD."
"The pricing was a little bit below the average of what we were looking at."
"But the most critical factor was cost-effectiveness. SpamTitan was much cheaper than Barracuda and offered the same value."
"Compared to the market, its price is fair."
"Its pricing is good. We've been happy with the pricing. I know that they did some extensive research, and the pricing was quite favorable with everything else that they looked at. My budget hasn't changed a whole lot over the last three to five years. It's nice to see that it has remained pretty steady. So, I am happy with the pricing. It provides good value for money."
"It is very good. We actually ended up saving money from our previous solution."
"It is a competitively-priced solution in the market...There are no additional payments for maintenance or support."
