Onboarding has streamlined hiring and document workflows but still needs a more intuitive interface
Onboarding is user-friendly, and we can map documents and forms based on the requirements of the clients. The recruit-to-hire data mapping is also quite good in Onboarding. I have worked with the Onboarding dashboard extensively. Based on the company culture and the processes they want to integrate within the Onboarding process, we gather those requirements and implement them in the system. The implementation capabilities are quite strong in this regard. SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding is open to experimentation and iteration. The candidate flow from RCM to Onboarding is quite seamless. Forming a candidate into an employee is accomplished within a few clicks, including sending the candidate from Onboarding to EC, which provides a good experience for the client. From version 1.0 to 2.0, things have changed considerably. DocuSign and other integrations have been added to Onboarding, and I believe things are progressing well. Electronic forms during Onboarding have helped us reduce time, and e-signatures and DocuSign have been particularly beneficial. Building forms within the system and uploading them has significantly reduced paperwork and manpower requirements, resulting in considerable time savings.

Has improved HR process efficiency through intuitive workflows and responsive support
There is something that could be improved in Workday, specifically in the time tracking module. While I am not working on Workday now, I was a regional HRIS working for Egypt, Malta, India, and China. I mention these countries to relate to high population countries and companies. In our company, we use assigned work schedules for our teams. Because we work with the time tracking module, we need to assign shifts. In the manufacturing industry, we might need to change shifts every day or week. Manufacturing teams are huge, approximately 50 to 200 people in one team. If this team has one leader, the leader needs to assign a work schedule for each person individually. While there is mass upload functionality where we can load shifts for all people or specific groups, we need to select multiple people and assign them to a schedule from the interface itself. I have requested this functionality many times. When extracting business processes awaiting actions report, I can select different processes in one box, hit okay, and the report comes up. However, the same functionality does not work for work schedule assigning. If implemented, it would help many people in companies with high populations and big teams.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Onboarding is user-friendly, and we can map documents and forms based on the requirements of the clients."
"This product is leaps and bounds above the competition. Part of the reason is that it is built with modern technology. It has no legacy coding in it at all."
"In terms of customization, while it may not be fully customizable, you can configure the features based on the foundation that Workday offers. This allows you to take the basic features and tailor them to the specific needs of your company or business. It provides a lot of configuration flexibility."
"We use this solution to manage financials, payroll and recruiting."
"The solution is extremely stable."
"It is easy to use and straightforward."
"I found the analysis features to be very useful for our company."
"I would highly recommend it to anyone."
"Workday has improved our organization by being a centralized spot for payroll and benefits information."

Cons

"I observe that numerous support issues arise with clients, requiring frequent bug fixes."
"The implementation could have gone a little smoother."
"Workday has several helpful features. It has categorized payroll processes into sections, such as CTC separation and pay slips. It also provides detailed information on promotions and salary hikes, showing changes from the previous year to the current year. This includes a clear view of the new CTC and the monthly paycheck breakdown."
"Workday does have a community site where people can go on and off for suggestions. They call them Brainstorms, and you can vote them up. That is something that they do well, but oftentimes, they seem to be racing to deliver something based on what a competitor is delivering. For example, if they hear SAP has this new functionality and learning that's going to be coming out, they prioritize there, which makes sense, but unfortunately, some of these Brainstorms may get neglected where the product might not be improved as quickly or as needed for the customers. You might be waiting for a year or two to get a feature that you'd like released. They should pay more attention to customer feedback and ensure that customer feedback is an essential part of their product roadmap."
"There is a lot of complexity in the configuration of this solution."
"Reporting system should be improved. It is quite static based on historical data."
"This solution could be made easier to use by continuing to release new improvements."
"The solution has to work a lot on financial integrations, material management and CRM modules."
"In terms of reporting, we have to rely on a consultant to do the report customization. The most important thing is to be able to do your own reporting, which it can't do. We rely so much on our consultant to customize reports for us."
