Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

The solution is stable, scalable, and flexible
I rate the solution eight out of ten. The number of people required to maintain the solution is dependent on the other applications running. The solution in itself does not require a lot of maintenance. The solution is flexible and I recommend it when you have more complex applications with special requirements.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The SKU, the story build all are user- friendly. For the story build one just has to drag and drop it. And for the table, you just need some sort of selections and everything there."
"The Smart Predict, Smart Insights, and Smart Discovery predictive analysis features are quite good."
"I like the product's capabilities. The clarity and scenarios are the main features that allow us to forecast using machine learning algorithms and make decisions."
"SAP Analytics Cloud provides benefits such as time savings and cost-effectiveness because anyone using a planning tool traditionally relies on Excel sheets to build planning."
"The best features SAP Business Data Cloud offers that stand out most include having all the data in one place, which is a significant advantage."
"The product's most valuable features are reporting and planning, driverless planning, business vertical-wise planning, dashboarding, forecasting tools, and business forecasting."
"SAP Business Data Cloud has provided centralized access in respect of the data governance part, managed to provide real-time insights due to its live reporting, and provided a unified, comprehensive interface wherein the data is in harmony, whether it is SAP or non-SAP."
"SAP Business Data Cloud has helped improve data accessibility, reporting efficiency, and decision-making."
"The most valuable part of SAS/ACCESS is what it is made for: connecting to remote systems that are not part of your physical SAS environment."
"The SAS/ACCESS ability to connect creates an elegant simplicity."
"The most valuable aspect of the solution is the ease of access to the data in those databases."
"The most valuable feature is you have native access to the external databases."

Cons

"Regarding the deployment process, I find it complex. SAP requires more configurations, and it is not easy to install SAP."
"Some of the standard visualizations, such as a speedometer or a goal chart, are not there and should be added."
"With the R Visualization, the coding is somewhat complex."
"The search capability could be better, and SAP needs to come out with a clear roadmap for the solution going ahead, as they have not yet provided that."
"BDC Delta Share had a limitation of not allowing delta only, as the delta only feature on replication flows was not available for standard ERP replication flows. This was a significant limitation that prevented organizations from migrating from BODS to replication flows."
"I would not say SAP Business Data Cloud is stable at this point because we receive new updates and fixes from SAP every week."
"For improvement, I would like to see more customizable dashboards, better reporting flexibility, and additional automation for data management tasks in SAP Business Data Cloud."
"SAP Analytics Cloud should improve the dashboard."
"I can't really recall any missing feature or general improvement that is needed. We don't really add too many new kinds of databases and therefore our needs are already met."
"The pricing model needs to be reconsidered and adjusted."
"The primary way that this product can be improved is by adjusting their pricing model."
"The solution's pricing and licensing are expensive."
"The solution can provide access to the newer databases that come out sooner."

"It is a bit expensive, but really worth it, especially if you are already using other SAP tools."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is expensive. The price is a big issue if you compare it with other solutions from different vendors."
