Integration tools streamline financial operations and enhance data management
The most beneficial feature in Workato is its accessibility. The interface is easily understandable even for a common user, unlike the NetSuite ERP direct website which requires more technical knowledge. In Workato, NetSuite ERP provides options for new employee records, invoice reports, and batch files processing. The batch processing capability allows handling up to 10,000 records simultaneously, which reduces tasks and processing time significantly. Regarding scalability, NetSuite ERP offers excellent options and reduces manual interventions through automation. In the past three months, I have observed improvements in their options and data storage capabilities, showing enhanced scalability compared to previous versions.

Has streamlined invoicing through instant creation and customizable templates while enabling automation in tax handling and payment reconciliation
With Zoho Books, I have found the most valuable features that we don't need any reports because the reports get already generated based on the sales and purchases. We can easily find all the account receivables and accounts payables, and by the chart of accounts, we can create multiple charts of accounts under the category, whether it is expense, asset, or liability. We can easily verify and check those reports, file the tax in Zoho Books, and use the tax filing system that is available. We can also do e-invoicing in Zoho Books and integrate WhatsApp with Zoho Books, so if the invoice is overdue, the customer automatically gets a WhatsApp notification against the invoice number. There are multiple functionalities, including a banking system that allows us to directly integrate our bank with Zoho Books to reconcile the payments. If any payments come against the invoice, it gets reconciled, and we can integrate multiple payment gateways such as Razorpay, which automatically gets updated on the invoice when payment is received. The integration of Zoho Books with other applications influences my business operations significantly. For example, Zoho CRM provides the customer contacts that sync directly as customers in Zoho Books. The vendor information from Zoho CRM also syncs directly to vendors in Zoho Books. Estimates from Zoho CRM sync to Zoho Books when I enable Zoho Finance Suite in Zoho CRM, and the same vice versa for Zoho Books. Another feature is that I can add data sources in Zoho Analytics, so whatever reports get created in Zoho Books sync to analytics, allowing me to create better dashboards according to my needs. I can join the tables pushed from Books in analytics to gain more insights, and if any reports aren't generated in Zoho Books report section, I can join the tables in Zoho Analytics for that purpose. The financial insights from Zoho Books reporting module that most impact my decision-making processes include features such as transfer orders and adjustments. For instance, if I lose any quantities or items are destroyed, I can easily manage the transfer from one warehouse to another. If items are kept in one warehouse but someone purchases from another warehouse, I can create transfer orders and invoices. Additionally, after delivery, I can create delivery challans for the transportation systems. If I have created an invoice but don't have enough quantity, I can create a purchase order and request for a purchase, which later helps in creating that invoice. These features make Zoho Books more proficient than other accounting software such as QuickBooks and Tally.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I have found there to be many features, such as manufacturing, accounting, financials, inventory, and purchasing."
"The solution is pretty easy to use and navigate, and it's more of a lightweight software."
"I am impressed with the product's ease of use. It also helps us reduce the techstack."
"We were able to implement NetSuite and the apps and the integrations for under $500,000 for the entire new system, achieving a net savings of $500,000 a year with more modern technology that worked better for them and without needing a team of three tier-one experts on staff to manage the system."
"I like the ease of setup and customization of forms."
"A single suite of applications (like NetSuite) is a far better solution than running multiple systems."
"The user interface is very good."
"It's perfect for a company that is growing, that's still on the border of small to midsize, and it fits perfectly from a cost and functionality perspective of them trying to get to standard practices that allows them to grow efficiently."
"The major benefit I've seen from Zoho Books is its positive impact on saving time around CRM and projects, CRM, bookkeeping, and projects as that works very efficiently."
"There are extensive capabilities in the reporting features, which makes it really expandable."
"With Zoho Books, I have found the most valuable features that we don't need any reports because the reports get already generated based on the sales and purchases."
"I have worked with multiple clients for Zoho Books, and they are completely satisfied with the implementation and customization automation we did."
"Almost all the features are there, and they have different plans with lots of features."
"Having used eight accounting software systems, I consider this one among my favorites."

Cons

"It would be great if they offered localization for Central America."
"The solution is not good in a production company."
"I would like to see improvement around the Revenue Recognition module. Right now, several templates are there, but they are either too complicated, or they are difficult to configure, from a company finance perspective."
"Additionally, difficulties for end user to select proper modules from cloud ERP were addressed."
"If you do go through an implementor, you need to be careful that they are actual implementors and not just resellers."
"Many features such as local taxation and fund management are not there yet."
"The main implementation challenge is finding experienced consultants to translate customer needs into NetSuite ERP's standard functionality. The second challenge is getting enough time from customers for proper implementation."
"There is a lot of room for improvement. Multiple manufacturing features need to be updated on NetSuite. More functionalities need to be added. I think there are a lot of functionalities coming out for warehouse management systems and manufacturing automation via advanced manufacturing functionalities. I think they need to improve a little more on those aspects and make it easier on the scheduling aspect."
"They can improve their approval process and access matrix in Zoho Books."
"I do not have any challenges within Zoho Books, but sometimes if you want to change the currencies for customers, that can be a bit tricky, especially if you want to issue different invoices in different currencies, maybe even for the same customer, that's the only thing."
"In terms of improvement, there are two things which they are going to improve, but they have dedicated products for them."
"My professional experience with customer service is somewhat inconsistent because sometimes you can get good customer care service, while other times you might get a representative whom you are actually showing how things should be done."
"Areas of Zoho Books that could be improved or enhanced include the requirements for data size, as sometimes there is too much data."
"The user interface of Zoho Books is frustrating when compared to QuickBooks or other alternatives."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of the solution is quite high."
"There is an annual license required to use this solution."
"I would advise that you first meet with and scope out your project with a NetSuite VAR (Value Added Reseller)."
"NetSuite ERP has a cost per module you want to use, and then you have the license per user."
"It's very competitively priced due to it being a subscription model. So, clients are quite happy with the pricing. I would rate it an eight out of ten in terms of pricing."
"Pricing for NetSuite ERP is okay, but it could be better. The licensing model for NetSuite ERP is based on the number of modules and users. The standard license covers up to twenty-five users. If you have more than twenty-five users, you'll have to buy the premium license, which would double the price. For one module with five user licenses, the cost is between $40,000 to $50,000."
"It is expensive."
"Regarding costs, it's not just about licensing. Customization recurring costs can become expensive over five to eight years, especially with new releases. However, NetSuite ERP integrates well with third-party applications, so it can still be used for finance while another ERP is used for localized production."
