Simplifies backup, restore, and clone management across disparate applications and infrastructures
It's a simple solution to use. It's simple to configure everything that you need — configure your backups. It gives you an option to backup to the cloud or backup to on-premise, or to backup to cloud storage. For example, if a customer is running on Azure NetApp files or on something cloud-based that they want to back up, they have the option of bringing their own licensing and cloud controls and NetApp will give them the storage to back up for as long as they want. When deleting backups, the controls are very intuitive so not just anyone can delete the backups, only the administrator is able to do that. Backing up and restoring is simple. It's easy. It's one click of a button. It's quite good, I like it.

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

"At the moment I think we have all we need for backing up our Office 365 emails reliably, we have a solid solution with this product so I don't see any reason it would have to change."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is its performance. Additionally, the user interface and documentation are easy to use and navigate."
"When we did the comparison, we found it to be a cost-effective solution, and it included everything."
"The support offered by both Veeam and our third party supplier is excellent."
"I would recommend this solution to others who are interested in implementation, as it is a good solution with good email capacity and is easy to use."
"For data security, we rely on Veeam Backup for Teams and it is quite effective."
"For those considering implementing the solution, I would say to just go for it."

Cons

"Better integration with third-party databases and applications is needed."
"The features need to be updated to support the latest hardware, as it changes every year."
"There are several things that cannot be backed up as a full system, but rather only as a shared file. It isn't compatible with all applications and databases."
"I would like to see the graphical user interface improved to include all of the functionality because there are some things that you need to use the command-line interface for."
"There are still a few things on SharePoint that they need to correct in terms of how they backup and restore."
"For newcomers or people who have less experience, it's a complex solution that could be simplified somewhat."
"The integration and the coverage of all the features related to the protection of Teams could be improved."
"We will be evaluating whether we will continue using this solution in the future because it is not practical to keep it when it does not do the backups of all our users' information requiring us to have two solutions."
"It's hard to predict the usage on the storage. I need to make some estimates for customers in terms of how much storage will be needed on the cloud, and this is always tricky. It would be helpful if they could help us estimate storage or simplify the estimation portion."
"I find that technical support can be improved because for people who are knowledgeable, it is good, whereas for people who are not, the support is too technical."
"It's a new product. It's not mature."
"If Veeam could offer backup as a service for data backup and recovery, that would be great. We'd like something like what Druva is offering at the moment."
"The support for deduplication appliances is an area to consider for improvement."
"There is still a need for improvement when it comes to individual database backups, particularly for Oracle and other newer databases."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is more or less the same as what we'd get from Veeam on Office 365, so it's fine."
"The licensing was based on a three-year subscription and the price is good compared so some other vendors."
"My understanding of the costs is that the price is fair, and not too expensive."
"We decided on Altaro because, from the point of view of the total cost, Altaro looks cheaper than Veeam. Veeam has a lot of costs that are not clear when you start it, which makes it less flexible than Altaro, but only after half a year, you can be really sure that you made a good decision."
"The solution is very, very, very, cheap."
"We looked at a few cloud options. When we did the comparison, we found it to be a cost-effective solution, and it included everything."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."
"Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is expensive, and I rate it an eight out of ten."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 is a low-priced solution, so it is scalable and is priced for the market, comparable to other solutions."
"I have a per-user license for the number of users and the mailboxes that I have."
"The solution is not expensive."
