User-friendly interface simplifies project management but it requires stable connectivity

Creates customizable systems and improve team collaboration
Notion is a very flexible and customizable platform, allowing users to create whatever they need. The most impactful feature for project management is the ability to invite multiple client stakeholders without complication. Once I understand the basics, it's easy to use despite an initial learning curve. It also significantly improves team collaboration through customized views and visualizations of data.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have gotten rid of all our paper-based systems and our marketing work is now 100% visible to anyone in our planning organization providing ultimate accountability between teams."
"The free version provides all the utilities that I need."
"Shared boards help entire teams to plan out campaigns with ease and clarity."
"Time tracking has been a godsend."
"The ability to assign members to tasks and then have them update the status on them and even ask related questions under the task has been very helpful."
"Automation is definitely my favorite feature as it makes our lives so much easier."
"The ability to export to Excel has been huge for us."
"The product gives the whole team an overall view of the status of every single project that we develop, alongside budget management and support triage."
"Notion has a lot of integrations."
"I rate Notion a ten out of ten."
"The product is easy to use and has good responsiveness."
"The product has a valuable feature for databases. It has a table and a calendar view and saves various documents in the system."
"The ability to structure data is one of the most essential functions of Notion."
"The initial setup is easy."
"The ability to create and organize notes, plans, and technical content in a single platform is the product's most valuable feature."
"Notion is a very flexible and customizable platform, allowing users to create whatever they need."

Cons

"Some boards are just buggy."
"I do find the emails too frequent and notifications or inbox for things that aren't tagged for me inconvenient and occasionally confusing."
"The documentation must be available in French."
"I'm unable to send messages or update any projects from my tablet or cell phone which makes it hard when you are in the field all day and can't be at your desk."
"When replying to colleagues, it would be useful to see the formatting options (bold, bullets, etc.)."
"The system could collate information from other boards easier."
"There was one time that I had used CTRL + C to copy one of the text fields, and accidentally pasted it into all other rows/projects. I know there is an "undo" button you can click on for a few seconds, however, it would be helpful if you could undo it even after it's been a few minutes/hours."
"It is a touch expensive, especially when just starting out."
"The only problem I experience is that it often hangs."
"User management needs improvement."
"It can be difficult to contact the people at Notion."
"One area for improvement in the solution is the absence of integrated charts."
"There are a lot of things, but one thing that is absolutely necessary is the mobile application."
"There could be an automation feature included in the product."
"It is complicated to connect Notion with external systems."
"Notion's UI could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It was fairly reasonable. For everything we were using it for, it was fairly reasonable."
"monday.com is pretty affordable. It's cheaper than Asana. There are four tiers, including a free version. The free version is fine if you don't have any complex projects. One of the most advanced plans is around $16 per month per user."
"The solution is quite inexpensive. For example, we pay $8,500 for 75 users. It's somewhere around $100 a user, approximately."
"It's quite expensive when it goes to the enterprise license. Other tools like Jira cost 5 a month, and then their enterprise license is 38 a month, which is quite expensive for what we can do. It's £500 for a tool on a large enterprise. I'd have hoped that enterprise costs go down, not up. The pro license is £14, and then everything else is much more expensive, which is another barrier for us to adopt because other comparable tools are much more affordable when you have such a high multiplier as well."
"I think monday.com's paywalls are a little too high. Some basic features are locked behind the premium subscription. Some applications they offer within their subscription model are locked in an expensive package. These applications provide functionality that would benefit small teams, but it's too much money for a startup or a small business."
"The pricing of monday.com was a little bit high for us, especially here in South Africa, compared to Basecamp."
"The project manager would be responsible for any licensing fees. As an end-user, we just follow suit."
"The licensing cost is not that high for monday.com. However, if you need an implementer, the cost is high because there aren't so many monday.com professionals."
"The solution's pricing can seem steep, especially when you work with a lot of people. If you are working on your own or for another business, the solution's price won't affect you much."
"Notion offers a free plan that covers most functionalities. Clients are only prompted to upgrade if they require AI capabilities, priced at $10 for unlimited usage, or if they need to add team members, typically around $10 per member."
"The product has good pricing."
"I pay around $100 per year."
"The pricing structure is quite reasonable, and the basic plan covers the most essential features."
"The product's pricing depends on the usage plans."
"I rate the product's pricing a three out of ten. We only need to pay for it if we use it in the workspace."
"It's pretty affordable."
