"Unlike specialized tools, MDS is adaptable for various industries, making it a versatile choice for master data management."
"The best thing about it is that it comes with the Microsoft package."
"What I like about Microsoft, is that it has a huge database with many users."
"The backup and restore functionality are the solution's most valuable aspects."
"We can do auto patch updates using SOTI. SOTI has been well placed in terms of the number of endpoints it can handle."
"The most valuable feature is the remote support because there are plants here where IT staff is not present. We can use it to provide support remotely."
"It has a user-friendly menu that helps manage special purpose devices for security."
"The most valuable features of SOTI MobiControl include location tracking, geofencing, remote device control, and SOTI self-service mobile browsers."
"We use the Lockdown Kiosk Mode feature on all of our devices. We use that so that the operators can't change any settings in the background, and so that the applications they run are immediately available to them. It's a good feature."
"The feature I find most valuable within Soti is the ability to reset or unlock a device. A lot of the devices that we use are in the field. We have locations in Dallas, San Diego, Seattle, Washington, and Phoenix, Arizona and there isn't always someone, within our company, who is managing these devices. Sometimes it's the doctors' offices that we partner with where they use these devices. Having the ability to remotely reset a device or unlock a device has been super-crucial for me."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that I can manage my devices remotely."
"The best feature is its compatibility with various device versions, such as Windows, making it work seamlessly."
"Microsoft MDS isn't getting strong support because Microsoft is focusing more on cloud solutions."
"The only drawback is that it does not have the matching, merging, and all true MDM components. For these, you have to use another competent called Data Quality Services (DQS). You need to plug it in and use it along with MDS for true MDM. Both of these are integrated together, but you have to do them separately, whereas, in Profisee, there are a couple of screens where you can configure the matching process, create matching rules, and other things, and everything is in one product, which is not the case with MDS. In order to implement a true MDM, you need MDS, DQS, and SSIS. You have to use MDS to store your golden records, DQS to configure and standardize all your rules and matching percentages, and SSIS to load the data to DQS and MDS. At the same time, you also need Melissa Data to clean up your addresses to validate and standardize the addresses. That's the main component of true MDM. It would be good if they can create a true matching component inside MDS and merge MDS and DQS."
"Stability can be fragile at times. If you are not attentive or make a mistake, it can cause problems."
"Most of the Microsoft partners, especially digitally, are separate. Personnel are business people, and they do not have technical expertise, so you end up as a company spending a lot of money training your staff and your engineers."
"From my understanding, MS, as of 2021, will not maintain the product going forward."
"The Microsoft license cost could be lower."
"The solution could be better integrated into Microsoft's other products."
"It would be a better option to have an on-cloud version."
"There could be a feature for user ID management."
"The scalability is horizontal, not vertical. One machine has to have all the accounts. That's one of the issues that we have found with scalability: You always have to keep the same machine. If you want to add a second machine, you need to split the account and that removes flexibility of management."
"Improving the reporting section would be beneficial for enhancing the product's overall functionality."
"I would like to see some SMS integration so people can send data directly from a mobile phone through SMS when there's no internet."
"They have legacy design architecture, and sometimes the support isn't helpful."
"For the most part, the application deployment works well. Occasionally, when moving a gun, we'll see that we have to manually intervene, when working with the setup."
"SOTI MobiControl is very good for Android and Windows, but it should add a little bit on the Apple side because it doesn't have much control on the Apple side."
"It would be helpful if the product offered more integration and more features around the iOS and macOS platforms."
