A cost-effective solution for monitoring and security but lacks supports for non-Microsoft products
There are weaknesses, and Microsoft is working on addressing them. Over the past three to four years, the ATP and other components have improved significantly, and the integration has also advanced. We are using third-party services. While we have Microsoft Threat Intelligence, which leverages Microsoft's facilities, we also utilize additional third-party threat intelligence. As of today, we don't completely rely on Microsoft for certain regions. This is an area where Microsoft needs to improve. Consequently, we use Anomali, a third-party threat intelligence provider. We integrate our product's intelligence with Anomali, from which we obtain threat insights. Microsoft products offer significant advantages, especially in the realm of threat intelligence. It works very well with Microsoft products. However, you might need additional services if you have non-Microsoft products in your environment. For instance, if you use Apple or Linux, Microsoft's solutions alone might not be sufficient. If they can work more effectively, especially with zero-day attack speed and other sophisticated threats, it will help us provide our customers with timely newsletters about new attacks.

The appliance is ready to integrate with the cloud in cases where the customers have a hybrid or cloud environment.
The go-between is a Veritas partner, so the customer support was not that good. The solution is fine except when there is a purchasing crisis where you have to remake the ecosystem. It causes a lot of issues. The support was a problem, but we're okay with it as long as we have someone to communicate with.

Pros

"Microsoft collects trillions of signals from all over the world, which is incredibly valuable. It helps us identify zero-day vulnerabilities and global threats."
"Microsoft Defender Threat Intelligence assesses machines for vulnerabilities and gives remediations."
"The solution blocks incoming threats on the local PC or any cloud-based threats."
"I would rate Microsoft Defender ATP as nine out of ten."
"I rate the tool's stability a ten out of ten."
"The solution is one suite covering everything from email protection to threat intelligence and vulnerability scanning."
"Its user-friendliness is its most valuable aspect."
"It is very scalable. There are approximately 2,000 endpoints and up to 200 servers in our company."
"he most valuable feature is that it's not so intrusive with computer resources."
"Some of the tool's best features include an enhanced dashboard and strong security features compared to native Veritas. Our environment is entirely automated."
"Veritas is loaded with features because the appliance is ready to integrate with the cloud in cases where the customers have a hybrid or cloud environment."
"The automated recovery feature of Veritas Alta SaaS Protection makes the recovery much easier, as opposed to earlier methods where we were using scripts to do the restore."
"What I like most about Veritas SaaS Backup is that it is easy to work on."
"The most valuable feature is that it is simple to use."
"We're comfortable using this kind of technology. It's user-friendly."
"It's a good solution. It's pretty stable."

Cons

"While the current setup meets our needs, Microsoft can constantly improve customization and adaptability to rapidly evolving cybersecurity threats."
"The solution could be more stable and precise because, at times, the threats detected are not legitimate."
"I would like to see more AI features and capabilities."
"Non-Microsoft products may not integrate as smoothly."
"There could be a better notification system."
"I would like to see more frequent updates, which is always better for security because of daily threats."
"The product's dashboard and incident reports functionality needs enhancement."
"The price point is something they can improve slightly for those who don't have an M 365 E5."
"Licensing has been a struggle. It went from bronze, silver to gold. Licensing needs more sophistication. It has features that are sold as separate add-ons."
"The backup reports and the dashboard need improvement."
"In the future, we would like to see support for virtualized machines."
"When you finish a project, the client should have the opportunity to browse the files rather than simply ending the contract. Also, it's not possible to recover earlier versions. It should be possible to have a database for recovering files after you finish a contract. There's no solution for this from Veritas."
"The tool can be improved in terms of maintainability and flexibility, especially as companies grow larger. In these aspects, I feel Veeam is better for cloud and operational purposes."
"They should review the cost aspect of the subscription for Veritas Alta SaaS Protection because customers are going for the cheaper storage, which doesn't give those features in terms of dedup ratios."
"The solution does lack a lot of features, and we're considering switching."
"The usability of the solution isn't the best."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's reasonably priced, though there's room for further improvement."
"I use the product's default version, which is a free one and not the licensed version."
"They offer two license plans: Microsoft Defender for endpoints and Microsoft Defender for businesses."
"I rate the product's price a six or seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is expensive, and ten is cheap."
"The product’s pricing is worth it."
"The pricing of the solution is good."
"Microsoft's pricing structure involves annual fees."
"The solution's pricing is reasonable and not very expensive."
"SaaS Backup isn't the most expensive solution."
"I would rate this solution's pricing as five out of five."
"This solution is not cheap and not expensive but priced in the mid-range."
"The program is quite expensive."
"The tool is expensive compared to Veeam."
